Shang Gu, I like you. I’m already satisfied now that I’ve told you. You can turn me down, but you can’t keep me away. No matter if it’s ten thousand years, or a hundred thousand years, I insist on loving you and haunting you until death.
Bai Jue, you’ll regret it. One day, you’ll regret it.
This memory of Tian Qi’s, in the moment when he’s seemingly carrying out the worst of betrayals is where (in my first watch through) he started on his journey to being my favourite character of the show.
It’s an idyllic image of him playing hide and seek with her when she’s young — maybe even just after she first appeared on the Heavenly Platform. I assume it was that early because she seems to be not even able of speaking yet. The person who met her first, who spent time with her everyday, before she was even capable of speech, was Tian Qi.
I kept remembering this image and what it represented through the whole series. The emotion in it is what drives him and stays constant for thousands of years.
The scene in which my heart breaks into a million pieces. Everything from the acting, the writing, the choice of music in this scene is *chef’s kiss* perfect.
It’s harder watching this the second time around because now I know Tian Qi means this and exactly what he’ll do even after he gets rejected by the woman he loves. This man isn’t lying.
