Chameleon spray marble nails! I had to try this look after I’ve been seeing it all over the place. I don’t have the chameleon powder so instead I layered a few different shimmer polishes to get this look. As you can see from the second picture, these crazy nails looked so different in every lighting! I honestly couldn’t stop staring!

crazy chameleon nails before I put the spray marble over it. I layered three different polishes to get this look and wow was I obsessed! They really looked so different in every lighting.

I’ve been wanting to use star shaped sequins for a while and was so excited to finally get these Star Nail Sequins (in selection “colorful”) from @bornprettystore-blog. They are pretty standard, the pot comes stock full of the sequins. The pot contains two sizes of stars in red, gold, silver, purple, and blue. I loved that there was variation in the size in this package as it just gives you more options. At first, I thought the colors left something to be desired (although I did love that you get gold and silver as well as the colored ones in this pot). The photo on the bornpretty site shows a far greater variety of colors included in this “colorful” pack (it looks like there are also green, orange, and pink sequins in their photos). This could just be a result of lighting in the photos, but definitely be aware of that if you are looking to buy these. After using these on my nail I came to like the colors a lot more as the different way the light hits them really makes them look less like basic primary colors. So overall I’m happy with these.
I tend to not love the feel of having 3d studs and rhinestones on my nails, despite how much I love the look of them. Since I don’t do gel/acrylic nails, these items tend to just be a constant worry for me. This is why I prefer sequins. These sequins do stick up a bit on the edges since they have points and such, but I have to imagine that if I pressed them into the top coat and used a thicker coat to seal them in that this would be less of an issue.

Overall, I am quite a fan of these sequins and I can’t wait to keep using them.

I finally did it! I graduated from USD this past weekend cum laude with my degree in accounting! I got to use some star shaped sequins from @bornprettystore-blog as confetti being tossed  in the air along with some grad caps for this mani and I love the way they sparkled. This week I got to review these super fun Water Decals (Item ID #37996) from @bornprettystore-blog and I was such a fan! I have used other water decals from Born Pretty Store before and absolutely loved them (see the review here), and honestly these were even easier to use than before!

The basic process for using these was the same (cut out the shape, submerge in water for a few seconds, separate the decal, and apply to the nails) but these separated SO easily and only needed to be submerged in the water for about 5-10 seconds. I skipped the step when it tells you to damped your nail before you apply the decal as I find it makes the surface too slippery, and it still worked just fine.

The decals, like most others, are not entirely opaque (meaning they are somewhat transparent). This is very very minor though, as you can barely even see the gingham print through them even though it is a harsh pattern using dark and contrasting shades. I found this to be a strong point of these decals.

The photo of the product you see to the right is the entire product minus the packaging (you receive one sheet of the decals per package). This sheet gives you a good variety of images while still remaining consistent and taking some of the guess work out of trying to figure out which ones go together that you may get in a more varied pack of decals. I was a bit surprised that this was all you got, seeing as the past order of decals I received seemed to have much more in quantity and variety, but this sheet is exactly what was advertised (I think I had just embellished my expectations in my mind). I was really happy with the size of the decals as well! They weren’t too big that they wouldn’t fit on the nail, but not so small that you had to struggle with them. If I have enough left over, I would love to see how these look used in a collage-type look if I used a bunch of them to fill the nail entirely.

My nails this week featuring water decalsfrom@bornprettystore-blog ! For this look, I followed this tutorial I posted a while back. Luckily my line work has improved a great deal since I made that tutorial, which was so awesome to notice! I got the idea for these nails after seeing some fashion looks that featured patches and appliqué over gingham print, and these water decals paired with some rhinestones worked perfectly for the look!

Ikat chevron nail art with rhinestone accents. Experimented with the colors across the two hands so I wanted to show them both. The same colors were used in the same order, but the thicknesses were just adjusted. It was a very different design for me but it was fun to do!

Matte Rifle Paper Co inspired floral nail art. It feels like it has been so long since I’ve done florals, and all the flowers in our apartment this week gave me the idea to bring them back!

Only had time for this super quick line drawing mani this week inspired by Picasso. Would love to try it again with maybe more overlapping drawings or different colors.
