Okay can someone tell me about Mary Sharma/Sheffield’s background? Or direct me to where I can find it? I read the 8 main Bridgerton books but must have missed something??

I see some discussions here on tumblr as to whether Bridgerton is going to make the Sharma family a proper Indian family or maybe Mary is going to be an English second wife to Kate’s Indian father, making Edwina half-Indian half-English to Kate’s full Indian ancestry.
I think both versions are great ideas, but I have to say I do prefer Mary to be an Indian lady. Because for one, I believe representation is important not only for younger generations but also for more mature women.
And besides, we already have two fantastic matriarchs in the show - I’m talking about Lady Danbury and Violet, Lady Bridgerton, of course - and I just think it would be so great to have Lady Mary join their ranks as an Indian mom, see them plotting together and just generally having fun.
