In October, 18 young chefs from around the world competed in the Barilla Pasta World Championship in Milan in honor of World Pasta Day. To put their cooking skills to the test, the chefs competed in “Mastery Challenges” and created signature dishes that embodied this year’s global culinary theme: Eat Positive.

Carolina Diaz, Chef di Cucina at Terzo Piano in Chicago, was announced as the Barilla Pasta World Champion, defeating chefs from around the world and becoming the first female ever to win the competition.
