Sonata(mShenko, M, 78k words). It’s so hard to choose between Cantata and Sonata, but I’ll give it to Sonata because I owe this fic so much. It was such a gift to get to write, and it connected me to so many people. It’s my lightning in a bottle fic.

After the Battle of the Citadel, the Alliance calls the Normandy home to Vancouver to face an inquest. Things get…complicated. On every possible level. Especially when Kaidan discovers an unfortunate misunderstanding with his parents.

The Words That Change Us (mShenko, M, 5k words). From the Sam and Kaidan multiverse, this is the fic that started all the First Kiss AUs, and contains some of my favorite banter I’ve ever written. 

Shepard is more than the N7 emblem they’re about to pin on his chest.

1600(Joker & Chakwas, M, 4k words). This fic that traces the friendship between Joker and Dr. Chakwas throughout ME1 and into ME2 has become sort of a lynchpin fic for me. It’s canon across all my ‘verses, and I reference it all the time. 

To Joker, doctors are a dime a dozen.

Not Fine(mShepard & Garrus, M, 1.7k words). Heavily inspired by the West Wing episode “Noel,” this is a peek inside Shepard’s ME2 post-Lazarus trauma. TW, blood and reference to self-harm. (This is not Sam, but it’s a good preview of Sam)

“Shepard.”

He doesn’t even look up at the sound of EDI’s voice, instead taking in the glitter of shattered glass and hunks of brightly colored polymers now scattered across his desk with a vague sense of amusement.

A bright red splotch drips from his hand and hits the desktop, scattering like a starburst.

The Lifecycle of Butterflies (mShiara, G, 3.5k words)  My happy ending send-off to my Exordium!Shepard, in which Shepard’s daughter learns a little about the people he’s determined to remember.  

There’s a room in the house Shepard doesn’t know how to explain.
