After 15 years, fans of The Princess Diaries may finally get their much-deserved happy ending. We last returned to the world of foot-popping kisses and extravagant royal slumber parties in 2004, and according to Anne Hathaway, fans could soon get another chapter in the franchise.
During a phone call from a fan on Thursday’s Watch What Happens Live, Anne revealed that there is — I repeat, there is — a script for a third Princess Diaries film. “I want to do it, Julie wants to do it, Debra Martin Chase (our producer) wants to do it,” she said. “We all really want it to happen. It’s just, we don’t want to do it unless it’s perfect, because we love it just as much as you guys love it.”
“It’s just as important to us as it is to you,” she added. “And we don’t want to deliver anything until it’s ready, but we’re working on it.” Cue the excited screams.
