The future can be unpredictable. Unless you own a diary that tells you everything in the upcoming future. Anonymous combatants secretly search for each other in a battle to beat the God of Space and Time himself, Deus Ex Machina. Yukiteru, a 14 year old daydreamer, always kept to himself and only wanted to interact with Dues Ex and his assistant Muru Muru. After Dues transforms Yuki’s phone, the games began. However, he seemed to have a rough start in the beginning. That is, until he had an unexpected partnership unfold when he met Yuno Gasai, another diary holder. Yuno’s protective obsession for Yuki has made her the perfect partner for all the insane foes they must encounter together, from terrorists, to even the town’s very own law enforcement.  Despite Yuno’s innocent and calm appearance, just the thought of losing Yuki drives her a little insane. After another intimidating battle with another diary holder, Yuki and Yuno seemed to have unexpectedly separated. Although that seems like a breath of relief for Yuki, Yuno seems to have lost her patience and has decided to try and find someone else to link her obsession to. I’m sure she’ll find someone to help her tame the obsessive monster inside of her.

Every student at Ewen High has their own story, but everyone knows the story of Carrie White. Daughter of the religiously obsessed widow, Margaret, Carrie’s history continues to be a mystery to many of her classmates other than the well known asteroid storm that occurred when Carrie was just a child due to trying to defend herself by her mother striking her after she gained curiosity about  her neighbors breasts, also known as “dirty pillows”. . At a young age, Carrie developed telekinetic powers at a young age but was soon dormant due to a rock hitting her head. As Carrie turned 16 she began to encounter changes mentally and physically. After the encounter of her first period and a traumatic taunt from her other classmates Carrie’s powers revived and she found an interest in them and decided to try and develop them. In the meantime, Ewen High School is buzzing because it’s now time for everyone’s favorite time of the year. Prom. Everyone has their dates ready, their outfits picked, and their hair dressed. It looks like even Carrie found herself a date and is ready to accept her crown as prom queen! It looks Carrie will finally get her happily ever after….right?

Trans 101 question answered: Why aren’t trans people just given more of the male or female hormones needed to match their outward physical self?

LEXIE CANNES STATE OF TRANS — By guest writer Michelle Rose. Trans folk in transition are given hormones; as much as is medically safe and consistent with the patient’s physiological profile. The average dose of estrogen (orally) [for trans women] is about 4 mg a day. I have no accurate data concerning the amount of testosterone for trans men, but I am aware that in their case, it’s mostly…

Question: Is there an unwritten or unspoken rule about acknowledging other trans women?

LEXIE CANNES STATE OF TRANS — By guest writer Michelle Rose. Yup, the Prime Directive. Just like Star Trek, this one is engraved in stone and followed only by older, more experienced trans folk: never acknowledge another trans woman in your presence whom you do not know personally. Never. The reason? Trans women don’t like to be outed. Me, I don’t care. You’d have to be blind or half-drunk not to…

Question: What are some of the worst cases of transphobia you’ve encountered?

LEXIE CANNES STATE OF TRANS — By guest writer Michelle Rose. Well, I’ve been assaulted five times. Does that count? I’ve been: 1) Spat on (by a sweet little old lady who looked like someone’s favorite granny). 2) Elbowed in the head while disembarking from a city bus (essentially a sucker punch that knocked me to the pavement and if it hadn’t been for some sharp-eyed folks at the bus stop who…
