It wasn’t that they meant to be so discreet when they started dating. They had every intention of telling the team, but there never seemed to be an appropriate time. So when they finally had the chance, they took it, but this wasn’t the response they thought they would get.
“Is that all?” Izumi asked with a bored expression.
“What?” Abe looked at his teammates, confusion growing as none of them looked surprised, and it didn’t help that Mihashi’s fidgeting was getting worse by the second.
“I could tell within the first week!” Tajima exclaimed before throwing his head back in laughter.
Annoyed, Abe glared at Tajima while Mihashi turned a brilliant shade of red. “So, what, you just told the whole team then?”
“Yeah, he did,” Hanai smiled awkwardly as he scratched at his cheek.
Abe sighed and willed his anger to calm as he took a slow-measured breath. Of course, Tajima would find out, he’s best friends with Mihashi, and Mihashi was terrible at hiding things. At the very least, his teammates didn’t seem to care.
For years, Kanou has watched Mihashi’s back, believing wholeheartedly that Mihashi was the better pitcher. For so many years he’s been forced to watch Mihashi curl into himself with hunched shoulders and shaky hands. Anxiety and words cut Mihashi down when all Kanou has wanted to do was raise him up.
Finally, years later Kanou sees Mihashi stand tall on the mound with an air of confidence as he looks around at his teammates, his voice calling louder than Kanou has ever heard it.
His childhood friend plays against him as his rival and Kanou has never been happier to finally see Mihashi believe in himself the way Kanou has for so many years.

We are officially accepting early works starting today. Early works are accepted starting a week before the official ship week, which in this case is August 5th - August 11th
Your works should be tagged appropriately (i.e. trigger warnings, nsfw, etc.). If they are not, they will not be accepted. Also, you should include the tag #oofurishipweeks in the first five tags and mention us (@oofurishipweeks) in the post, so that we and other people will be able to find it! There is also the option of submitting your work to our submit box! Feel free to tag us on twitter (@oofurishipweeks) as well if you’d like!

Reincarnation AU - an alternate universe in which one or all parties have died and have come back to life in as a new person.

Fantasy AU- an alternate universe in which the characters are reimagined in a fantasy setting

Prejudice-noun. preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience.
Alternate First Meeting AU - an alternate universe in which the characters meet in a different situation than in canon

Savior-noun. a person who saves someone or something (especially a country or cause) from danger, and who is regarded with the veneration of a religious figure.
Soulmate AU - an alternate universe in which people have destined partners aka “soulmates”

We’re all used to the eccentricities of each character, and the techniques the boys use to stay calm and focused during their games, but from an outside perspective Nishiura high school baseball team is absolutely fucking bizarre.
*Nishiura calls time*
Opponent team: oh they must be making a game plan, alright
*Abe goes out to stand in the middle of the field and hold hands with Mihashi while staring intently into his eyes*
Opponent team: what the fuck is going on???
*Abe calls Mihashi hispitcher, promises to take care of him for the next 3 years, swears that they’ll win for his sake, Mihashi is crying incoherently*
Opponent team: they know we’re in the middle of a game, right? do we need to get them a room or something….?
Opponent team: how are these freshmen staying so calm in such a serious game??? what’s their trick???
*Looks across to Nishiura’s dugout where Mizutani is screaming while Izumi and Mihashi tickle him*
Opponent team: ?????? do we need to call somebody?? is he okay?
*Tajima makes an impossible shot and gets several runs*
Opponent team: how cool is that prodigy?? he must be a genius
Tajima, immediately after finishing the game, shirt off, dick out: rice is a type of protein right??
Hanai:jesus christ how have you survived for this long

Big hot shot team pre-game: This game will be pathetically easy – they’re just a bunch of freshies!! Practically toddlers!
*Nishiura during the game* Reads the pitchers’ movements, memorises each batters preferences, goes full-on klepto with bases. Wins.

*Nishiura after the game* has players falling asleep on public bunches like a bunch of hobos, some of them half-naked, Abe yelling incoherently over the mess
So, I went back to the sport titles. And I can not tear myself away from Oofuri. Interesting matches (I finally understood the rules of baseball, lol) and very lovely players.

Made for @cazybunny this took quite some time, but it’s finally done! I know it’s catcher day and this has Tajima and Mihashi, but still! On time for Abe day.
You mentioned anything with Mihashi in it, and I’ve always liked the idea of Ruri keeping a scrapbook of a bunch of Misashi stuff, so I thought it’d be cute to do something along those lines.

I was your Secret Santa for @oofurixmas this year :> You mentioned you’d love to see people just being nice to Mihashi, and I am of the opinion that few things are nicer than hugs (especially group hugs!) This fandom is so incredibly talented, and I feel a bit intimidated seeing other people’s works, but nevertheless I hope you like it ❤️⚾
