For (approximately) the past year, now, I’ve noticed that more and more people are accepting mspec gay and mspec lesbian identities as valid; they are learning that gay and lesbian are umbrella terms, they are learning our history, they are learning that all queer identity labels are self-defined, they are learning more about complex identities, nuanced gender experiences, polyamory, and the ways that neurodivergence impacts one’s experiences with gender and attraction. People who were formerly exclusionists of our identities are realizing the error of their ways and are opening their arms to mspec gays and mspec lesbians.

And that’s great.

But don’t think I don’t remember 2017-2018 when so many of you began telling us we were threats to the gay and lesbian communities. Don’t think we won’t remember the people who called us predators, who targeted transfem mspec lesbians and compared them to TERFs, blamed us for men being creepy to lesbians, or literally suicide baited us.

You can scrub your online presences of all the exclusionist opinions you espoused and endorsed but we’re never going to forget the shit you’ve done and said to us in the past 5 years to try invalidating our identities. We’ve been here for decades and we’re sure as fuck not going anywhere now.
