Madison just joined the crew for the rest of the summer! This babe hails from Nova Scotia, though she has been living and working in Toronto for years now. Madison is a cosmetologist, model, and tattoo enthusiast, as well as our organizational wizard in the tent. Come throw a tip into the “tattoo fund” jar so she doesn’t have ink withdrawals all summer!

And then there’s me. I’m Crystal, new to MA on Warped, but I’ve been helping steer this ship for about the last 9 months. I hail from the murder mitten, the dirty D… good ol’ Detroit. I’m out for blood this year. My job is to make sure that we get in, up, bank, out, on the road in timely fashion, and keep everyone smiling, paid, and smelling great. Profit is the name of the game this summer. Typical of any tour, there is a “tour mom”, and I epitomize the title. Mean mom comes out from hiding sometimes, when something really grinds my gears the wrong way, but that wrath is short lived, and for the most part I’m a gray cloud of sarcastic sunshine and eternal gab. Bring me a iced chai with soy and I might kiss you.

Austin the girl hails from sunny California, but has been living in St. Louis with her boyfriend for the past year. She’s one of the beautiful Ladies of Metal, and one of the most genuinely sweet human beings we’ve ever encountered. We’re so sad we can’t keep her longer! But big kid responsibilities await her, and she has a real job back home to get back to, so her time with us was short. Next year, we are kidnapping her longer, I’ve already warned her to put in her notice.
Austin the boy was a part time presence in our tent, out for the summer hanging with Buttons, an acoustic act in the Basement. You may recognize Austin as the bassist for the band Set It Off. His band was honored with a spot on the tour last year, and he liked it so much that he couldn’t wait to come out and play by himself before his band leaves for the Our Last Night headliner in a couple weeks! We lost both of our Austins this week, and we are pretty bummed out about it. Happiness and positive vibes all the way from these babes.

JD is our favorite Texan, and my deepest regret was not hiring him on for the entire summer. JD is a hard worker, a bright face, and an incredible friend. We are so lucky to have him supporting us from his home base, and plan on tempting him out onto the road next year if we can find enough sunscreen to protect him for 2 months. 3 days was nothing close to enough, but this dude had half the tour in our gear in no time, and helps us with our social media when we get overwhelmed. He works for Third String Productions, the company who brings you South By So What every year, amongst other local festivals and shows in the area.

This is Blake’s third year on the Warped tour, but the first with Monster Aesthetics. Blake comes to us from western Michigan, and is one of the hardest working merch dudes in the game. Guaranteed, this guy can put a smile or a smirk on any face. Another set of muscles for us this year, Blake is primarily located in our subsidiary tent, Shop Dark. Sometimes you’ll see him right next to the mothership, sometimes we send him off on his own so we can better serve the masses and bring dark art to the far corners of the venue. Bring Blake a Gatorade and a hot dog and he will be your best friend for the rest of the day, and probably throw you as sick discount on a tee.

so we had a little hiccup the other day and our bandwagon got smashed a little by a shark (semi). momma doesn’t like sharks. mean way to wake up! For Today and The Word Alive scooped us and our stuff up off the road and delivered us safely to Milwaukee - the show must go on!! we’re all okay, spread out into other busses, and can’t wait til we see you guys in Salt Lake City and Denver over the last 2 days of Warped tour!
tonight the entire tour package was invited to a private advanced screening of the new TMNT movie. good times ensued ;)
