ok so here’s what we know: nothing makes sense so far. to me, at least. i hope this all makes sense in the end because right now i don’t understand how the music videos are connected at all. maybe it’s just me, am i missing something? i’m open to theories.
so, in the Why Do I mv, three new characters are introduced: Karma, Ego, and Lady Luck. and the whole thing is like a SEGA fighting video game, and our boys are the choosable characters.
Maxx fights Karma.
and all we know about this character is pretty much what we all know about what karma is or represents. now why is it a snake-y creature? no idea. we could’ve guessed it from the poem in welcome2elsewhere.com because it drags an ‘s’ in ‘soul’. but like… bit of a stretch? right?
Zach fights Ego.
again, not much to say about this one, the ‘story’ behind this character is the tale of Icarus, which is not really an original thing.
and finally Cody fights Lady Luck.
now, this character is actually interesting because is the one that has a better built background. she’s a woman who got tired of everything always going wrong for her so she went to Elsewhere and kinda went mad and now the bitch is out to get anyone who has any good luck at all. also, her whole look is cool as fuck.
what i don’t understand though, is why they all come back at the end. i mean, they respawn, like every NPC ever. but like, why? what is the endgame here? does it just mean they can’t be defeated? or does it mean that they’re in an endless loop of shitty fights? is it both? where are the lizard guys with the drone-like controllers? where are the camera-head guys? and the receptionist? and everything that happened in the other music videos?
little thing i noticed is that Lady Luck is holding a teddy bear with half the stuffing coming out of its head.

coincidence? i think not! i mean, it’s the other side of his head but… also, is this supposed to be Cody’s (for lack of a better word) Blurryface? because Maxx said on an ig post that “this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the dark, anxious, overthinking side of cody’s brain”. so…? no? am i way off? let me know.
