“Claus & Lucas, the Sunflower Twins”

A slightly older sketch I decided to colour for the celebration of my mum’s birthday. She always loves the drawings I make despite her lack of knowledge about the series I usually draw fan art from. I haven’t drawn or coloured anything for her in ages so now I thought I definitely should, since I’ve had quite a lot free time due the current situation of the world.

I still hate drawing backgrounds though, so I must apologise the boring, blurred mess I created this time.. Well, this was meant to be a bit more simple piece after all, so I guess it’s good enough.

(And I know that the stripes on Claus’ shirt are more blueish tinted, cyan coloured to be exact, but I just didn’t feel to correct the mistake.)

“Anything could come true, as long as we prayed from the bottom of our hearts.”

I was feeling very sad and anxious a little while ago, so I ended up drawing this. I feel much better now though, so there’s no need to worry!

Right now I’m just experiencing frustration because this didn’t end up the way I actually imagined it to be and I wasted so much time on trying different things and nothing seemed to please me in the end.. and I actually started to dislike this at some point, mostly because I know that I can do better than this.

Also, I think this is not a surprise for any of you, but I really do have hard feelings for drawing backgrounds. I know it’s necessary if you want to improve your artwork and skills but I just find background drawing remarkably tiresome. But for now, case closed.

I’ve been listening to an Icelandic artist called Björk lately, that’s where the title and inspiration to this work comes from.

Since Love is a very important theme in the Mother games/Earthbound, I found it quite fitting to draw Lucas again. He’s such a precious baby boy.
