Neglected by her husband, Santa Claus (Charles Durning) during the pre-Christmas rush, Mrs. Claus (Angela Lansbury) takes the reindeer and sleigh out for a drive, only to end up stranded in the multicultural neighborhood of Manhattan’s Lower East Side of the early 1900s. Mrs. Claus’s desire to help others quickly comes into play when she befriends a handful of children working in a sweatshop, as well as a group of women who’ve embraced the cause of suffrage for all.
