#mtf problems
Ugh, this was a nightmare and a half for me. Calling credit card companies, utilities, health insurance… and saying, “Hello, this is my account number, I just had a name change. Previous name was [male name] and now my name is T.” I’d always get the people saying, “Wait, what? What do you mean? Did [male name] die?” No guys, I just had a name change. “But… but your other name was male.” Yes, yes it was, and now it’s female… please change it, thanks! Luckily I have that all taken care of now! Gender marker and name changed so I can continue living my life the way I want to live it, not the way society thinks I should!

Full Confession: I hate people who expect me to be a trans* activist just because I’m trans*. I’m stealth, none of my close friends know I’m trans* (only some people online know), and I don’t want people to know I’m trans*. There’s NOTHING wrong with that!
You’re right, there is nothing wrong with that at all! It’s all personal preference!

Full Confession: I was recently asked if I was born a male because of my voice (which I thought was good) and other reasons… I thought I passed perfectly but people still wonder about me… it’s so depressing

This is very informative! Of course, it’s only this girl’s experience, but she talks quite frankly and openly.
Full Confession: I just got my name and gender marker legally changed, and my mother still refuses to recognize that I am a woman. I love her so much, but I just can’t deal with it anymore.

Full Confession: A friend of mine posted a picture of a girl looking disgusted with the caption “when lesbians see a penis”. It made me feel bad because I’m a lesbian, and I have a penis, and it made me feel like my friend was making fun of trans* people. I didn’t know how to confront him about it, but it really bothered me.
While I understand where you’re coming from, I don’t think yoru friend meant any harm from that picture. I, for one, do not consider myself as having a ‘penis’, so that picture wouldn’t apply to me personally.

Your friend probably didn’t mean anything by the picture, at least, unless he specifically said “Ew, trans*women” or something of that sort. Sometimes, we have to let what people say roll off our backs, and just let things go. Just because we have a penis doesn’t mean that lesbians don’t like us and just because we’re trans* doesn’t make us any less of a 'woman’ than others.

Are you doing vocal exercises? Estrogen doesn’t change the voice, like testosterone does… if you’re waiting for that to change your voice, that’s why you’re dissatisfied! There are a ton of vocal training sites online (and people who will help and Skype with you!) that you can look into!
