The Emperor’s Horn: A Magic in the Imperium NovelbyJordan R. Murray
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
The Emperor’s Horn was not at all what I expected. Taking a different direction than I anticipated, the two main characters were the chummiest of friends. The main setting was reminiscent of a certain magical school we all know and love, with magic and adventure galore, but also exploring beyond the school grounds and plots to define something larger than what even the main characters realize. The dialogue was difficult to get into, as it took a bit more “translating” than I usually look for in casual reading, but as the plot picks up it’s easer to get into the flow of the accented language. I anticipate the series to grow even more thrilling as the mysterious storyline is revealed in a grander landscape.
