Quite a night at the Member Preview for the “Winslow Homer: Crosscurrents" exhibit. His work has such a tight nature focus, from powerful seascapes in oil to lush tranquil tropical watercolors. A beautiful way to preview this work. Also took the opportunity to view the update to the Costume Institute American Lexicon of Fashion. The new Virgil Abloh dress addition is a great synergistic link to the “Figures of Speech” exhibition focused on his work at the Brooklyn Museum this summer.

Taking a break on this horrific news day to visit the new Met Costume Institute “In America: An Anthology of Fashion”-the second in our two-part #MetInAmerica exhibition before it opens to the public at the end of the week. We also got to see, up only through today, the #MetGala centerpiece, a Lady Liberty-inspired piece conceptualized by artist Simone Leigh (@simoneyvetteleigh). It’s an interesting yet choppy exhibit with artistic visions centered around the museums period rooms. So the experience jumps around chronologically and the flow is pretty tight. It was good to see today before the crowds.
