I really love his music. He’s one of the best. There is an inexpressible atmosphere in his tracks, as if you were transported to futuristic worlds filled with rain, pain and neon lights.

The Musical Tribes Of Britain is our new series of prints celebrating - light-heartedly - different music scenes over the past few decades. We thought it would be nice if there was a series of postage stamps commemorating everyone who bought the records, wore the fashions and drove all night in a friend’s dodgy VW to take part in the wonder that is popular music. 08/06/17 - I made the skull & crossed guitars (without the eye-patch etc) a while back for an abandoned poster & I’d been wanting to find a use for them. The old school sailor tattoo vibe seemed to suit what I wanted from this one.

04/05/17 - Further variations on the theme of acoustic guitars. Pretty pleased with this one though, especially as it took a lot less time than some of them have.

27/04/17 - this was inspired by an old Paramount records advert that hangs above my desk. I’m not sure it was completely successful & it was pretty close to ending up in the reject pile.

06/04/17 - This one went through quite a few versions before I settled on this take. I wanted something fairly minimal, but early versions were just a bit dull & I ended up overdoing the ‘vintage’ effects to try and liven it up. Halftone texture & drop shadow to the rescue!
