The Tony Alva Story Premiere

Skateboarding was the Saturday night headliner at the Newport Beach Film Festival with the premiere of “The Tony Alva Story.” It was a full house at the Lido Theater for Rick Charnoski and Coan “Buddy” Nichols’ new in depth documentary on the Maddog himself, Tony Alva. With a star studded cast from skateboarding’s family tree to the silver screen, the documentary followed Tony’s path from Pacific Park Ocean Park punk to pioneer of skateboarding.  A Q&A followed the premiere with Grosso & Alva holding court talking about the peak age of a skateboarder, their battles with addiction and the lasting impact Tony has made on skateboard culture. We can’t wait for you to see this doc, it is truly an inspiring and educational story. Stay tuned for “The Tony Alva Story” release information coming soon.
