Studio Peeks | Michelle Blade
This week we take a peek into the creative space of artist Michelle Blade, whose new studio in Portland, OR provides not only a beautiful view, but also a clean, serene and focused zone. Simple shelving for her inks and a clean wall to allow her works to dry, Michelle’s space is still evolving: “It usually takes me a few months of working” she states “in a new space for it to get an interesting patina.” We can’t wait to see how her space evolves and will be checking in with her again for a re-visit!

All Things Zine : Skullfie II | Travis Millard
We’re taking a look through some self published artist zines this week. Here’s one from Los Angeles artist Travis Millard, titled Skullfie II. This mini sized zine contains a collection of delightful horror drawings + The Lord is Bossy mini-comic. Travis’s zines are always packed with wonderful content and weirdness that has you flipping through it over and over.
This little fella runs about 4.25” x 5.5” zine. 48 pages. B/W. for $5.00 USD. You can grab your own by checking out Fudge Factory Comics.

Vans Girls Music Crushes: Brianna Collins
Meet the soulful singer and keyboardist of the alternative/punk/indie band Tigers Jaw, Brianna Collins. The second we heard her sultry voice and beautiful piano melodies, we were instantly hooked and had to know more about her. We met up with the Pennsylvania native and roamed the streets of Long Beach, CA in our Old Skools, scoping out vintage thrift finds and rare records while chatting about tour, writing, and her band’s new record.
