I wanted the drawing to be ready for International Book Day but I got a bit carried away. As most of you guessed: Bastian Baltasar Bux! The main character of one of my favorite books I’ve done a lot of fanarts during my life but this is the first one I feel satisfied with! I hope you like it.

That’s the name Bastian gave the Childlike Empress in The Neverending Story in both the book and the movie.
The film version of the story doesn’t caption this moment, and it’s hard to make out in the film, but in interviews, actor Barrett Oliver said that was the name he screamed out on set.
Both the book and movie said that Bastian gave the Childlike Empress his mother’s name. Moonchild is a deeply unusual name, but the book has a line that could be interpreted that it is actually a nickname or other term of address.
Bavaria Film Studios in Munich has a number of props from the Neverending Story on display. Since Neverending Story was the most expensive German film ever made to that point, it is a great source of local pride to this day.

NeverEnding Story
✨After a month or so doing Neverending story sketches and drawings, I decided to post this one first because of reasons.
This scene takes place at The Silver City of Amarganth.
Bastian and Atreyu finally meet and they’re so happy to see each other that they hold hands while they listen the lucky dragon Fujur (better known as Falkor) sing across the night sky
I think this is one of the most beautiful moments of the book and I really wanted to draw it.
PD: this is how Bastian looks in Fantasy, his appearance in the human world is kinda different.
I think we all need a Luck Dragon right now, so here’s my interpretation of Falcor from the Neverending Story
