ok so ya know how the ninja all have those matching pajama sets and its like super random and out of character for some of them? Well my new personal headcanon is that Wu initially got them for Zane because he came to the monastery with nothing but the clothes on his back, having been homeless, and then Wu bought them for the other ninja too so Zane wouldn’t feel singled out. This may seem dark, but since we all know about Kai and Nya’s childhood, wouldn’t it be possible that one of them would have developed an eating disorder?
Struggling with food as a child with no parental figures could very well mean that one of them, more specifically Kai, had an eating disorder.
If we go with the fact that Kai took care of his sister when his parents disappeared, and there was little to no food in the upcoming years, he could’ve developed one when he was only making sure his sister is well fed and healthy.
Maybe even when joining the ninja, they tried to encourage him to eat more since there was actually food for once. I may be getting the details of EDs wrong, but i hope i got some right?

I could almost see Kai having the opposite reaction once food is plentiful, where he’s constantly stuffing his face because he doesn’t want to go hungry again. Hell, Nya and even Jay might have the same one.
Nya for obvious reasons and Jay because he was raised in a scrap yard and lived in a trailer, so one could assume that he was raised in a lower class family as well. (Although he would definitely have significantly less trauma in general because he had parents). I don’t see Zane having trauma related to food, but I can see Cole turning to food as a comfort.

This idea has been making rounds in my head for weeks now-
AU that plays in the movie verse, basically the serpentine war happened in the past, and the EM didn’t know if it would be safe to keep the generations of EM going. We know based on what happened to the time twins that there is a way to “take someone’s EM power”, so what if the EM (except Wu and Garmadon) basically sealed their powers away, “safe from the coming generations”, hiding these, idk maybe stones? maybe crystals?, away in different parts of ninjago
Problem: in the future the ninja will need those powers! So, because Wu trains them and knows the hidden places, they basically go through the same as the ninja at the beginning of the series getting the golden weapons
Still thinking about this, but I’m thinking that when these stones/crystals are destroyed, the powers return to the actual EM, this was done to assure that so random person found them and used the powers for their own gain. Of course, the “actual” EM would now be the ninja
Their parents of course still know about the Elemental powers, but none ever told anyone, so that these powers have been forgotten by most people, also because Ninjago is so modern and high tech by now
The ninja know each other since they’re in like kindergarten, and started training under wu around 13/14 years old (they’re now 15/16), but Wu never told them anything about their powers and what happened to them
Because this plays in the movie verse, Skylor and Morro are like best friends with the ninja, although they have had their powers since they were born but had to swear to not tell anyone, but when Wu tells the ninja about what happened, those two start telling about their own powers and using them to help the ninja
Of course, every stone is hidden somewhere else, and in a different environment, and only the actual EM should be able actually reach it and get the stone
Their powers not being present does not mean that their personalities change or smth, they still very much embody their element. Upon getting their powers tho, it takes a while of a ton of training and concentration to actually control their powers. They’re completely new and it feels weird, but at the same time right to have them
But yea, just something that’s been spiraling in my brain, maybe I will actually make something out of this, maybe not, we’ll see, tell me how you like it tho ^^
Okay, hear me out.
My headcanons mainly are about the movie ninja crew, and bc I headcanon Nya and Kai as Twins, and I also headcanon that Cole designs a lot of the stuff the ninja use and wear (backpacks, phone cases, stickers, etc..), I had this idea that Kai and Nya just switch all the time
No reason what so ever, they just think it’s cool and lean 100% into the Twin thing.
