hmm tdov.. many thoughts head full. i’d been thinking of like dressing up just for a picture but decided it was more like realistic to just post my regular self in my regular work clothes lol.
for the past 5 or so months i’ve been working in a childcare center as a visibly and vaguely openly transgender person. for me being visible isn’t really a choice– i don’t tend to get read as cis no matter how i’m presenting on any given day. and while i can’t be fully out as nonbinary at work and have to settle for masquerading as a “girl,” it’s still taught me a lot about how accepting little kids tend to be, even if they’re very curious and often unfiltered about my gender lol. a conversation usually goes something like, “why do you sound like a boy?” “some girls do!” “oh. okay!” and that’s the end of it!
i love being trans. i love all my kids, and not to toot my own horn, but my kids love me too. i think i figure people who tell you that a kid is too young to learn about gender, that it’ll confuse them too much, are really just afraid for themselves.
i don’t have a big ol conclusion to this, kind of just rambling, but like. yea. go forth and be visible, if that’s what you want to and can do! there’s a big world here to love you❤️⚧
