It’s official, applications for our OK KO fanzine “A Family Can Be” are closed! Over the past month, we’ve received so many amazing applications! Thanks so much to everyone who has shown support/interest in this project so far. We’re really excited to get movin’ on the next steps!
OnFriday, September 25th, our plan is to send out selection status emails to everyone who applied. Whether you’ve been selected to create art for the zine or not, if you applied you will hear from us, so keep an eye on your email!
OnFriday, October 2nd, we’ll be posting a public selected artists announcement so everyone can start getting HYPED!
Thanks so much again to all of the super talented artists that took the time to apply! Stay tuned, there’s plenty more exciting news to come!

FAQs!
Hello, everybody! We’ve already received a lot of great applications, keep ‘em coming! You’ve got until Friday, September 18th to apply. In the meantime, we wanted to share a little more information about our zine.
What’s the theme of this zine?
This zine is dedicated to all of the different types of families OK K.O. features and celebrates! Each piece in this zine will showcase at least two characters (but we encourage more!) and their relationship.
What’s the timeline for this zine?
Below you’ll find our most current schedule. Dates are subject to change, but we’ll give plenty of notice if they do!
Friday, August 14th, 2020: Zine applications open
Friday, September 18th, 2020: Zine applications close
Friday, September 25th, 2020: Announce accepted artists
Saturday, October 10th, 2020: First check in, optional group review
Saturday, October 24th, 2020: Second check in, optional group review
Saturday, November 7th, 2020: Third check in, optional group review
Saturday, November 21st: Pieces due!!
Are participating artists getting paid?
Neither creators nor contributing artists will gain any profit from the completion of this project. All artists involved in this project will have agreed to donate their time.
How will this zine be published?
Our main goal is to make this zine accessible to everyone! However, we’d also like to do some good for the community.
When the time comes to publish, our current plan is to list the file as “pay what you can” on Gumroad for one month. This should give the option to choose the amount you pay. During this month, we’ll be accepting donations for the National Bail Out fund (www.nationalbailout.org). After the month has passed, we’ll link the file from our google drive to our social media so people can download it for free.
As of right now, our plan is to only publish digitally. If there’s enough interest, we could always look into printing physical copies.
Once again, no artists will gain any profit from participating in this project.

With the recent passage of the third anniversary of OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes, we’ve realized something… there’s been a severe lack of OK K.O.’s special brand of goofy wholesomeness in the world! The time has come to remedy this situation. But how? Well, with a zine of course!
We’re officially opening a call for applications to the OK KO fanzine “A Family Can Be”!
Applications open TODAY (Friday, August 14th, 2020) and close Friday, September 18th, 2020. Please use the link to our official Google Form to apply!
One of our favorite things about the show is the inclusion and celebration of all sorts of families. From the bodega gang, to the Boxmore family, to KO and his mom, there are so many different ways “a family can be”! We want to create a zine that showcases these fun dynamics, and we need your help to do it!
We’re so excited to bring this zine to life and interact with all of the cool fans who still love this show.
