Meet the Geoms, a custom race I made for Dawn of Worlds! Dawn of Worlds is a worldbuilding game that will take us from beginning of creation up until the Diesel Age. I’m very excited to play it Wednesday. >:)
Geoms are a hardy race of craftsmen and artists who take up exploration in order to see the worlds natural beauty. I may actually adapt them into a playable race in Pathfinder, as well!

Honestly, without ref, animating walk cycles is hard. I had to do similar for a project in my first year of college. I look forward to more of this species though, they look cool even from these :D

I’ve posted about them a couple times before actually, but their design changes so much with my artistic prowess that their original design is almost unrecognisable by now. The only thing that’s stuck is the shape of the back legs.

Morph, an Edeia representing the Idea of Gender Euphoria - the euphoric pleasure of expressing your gender to the fullest. They’ve been floating around in my head for about a year but I only just got around to them, ahah. Seeing this inspired me.

They flitted throughout history, morphing the bodies of many to open their ideas to the potential of gender euphoria, though they caused some trouble during the Age of Secrecy and was locked away for around 200 years. They reappeared at the start of the Age of Reunion, morphing individuals, before starting to host an event during Pride Month to provide a “trial morph” to all those who come to a certain part of a particular city/location.
Personality
At present, Morph is a fairly outgoing sort, and they are quite enthusiastic when talking about anything related to gender. They are arguably a bit theatric and dramatic, though they would like to call it “fabulous.”
They can be rather insistent and stubborn at times in wanting to give a chance for everyone to experience the euphoria of knowing and loving their best gender, even if the individuals in question try to refuse or don’t believe in anything beyond binary gender. This can get them into trouble at times, but they never regret it, really. They accept consequences and may act differently in the future, but they live their life to the fullest and without regrets.
They may use terms such as “dear” and “darling” when speaking, though if the other is clearly uncomfortable with it, they will stop.
Their gender varies day by day, and it could be a single gender, multiple genders at once, all genders, or no gender. They preferred pronouns may change day by day as well.
Abilities
Morph: They are able to permanently or temporarily shapeshift folks into a different body, usually more closely matching their gender. This is mostly limited to the range of natural appearances of the species with some alterations. For instance, they cannot change you from a human into an animal even if you identify with some animal-related gender, but maybe they can give you sharper teeth or other minor characteristics. They can change sexual characteristics from one type to another to not having sexual characteristics, and even mixing and matching different aspects.
This can be a matter of one brief, essentially instantaneous morph, or a “trial morph” in which the body is first morphed into the opposite sex before shifting over about a month and eventually settling into the most preferred form. If Morph expends more energy, they can make this physical fluidity permanent, though they tend not to do this too often.
Gender Sense: Morph can have a sense of how an individual feels in regards to their gender, whether dysphoric, euphoric, neutral, confused, or anything else.
Speak No More: When activated, this affects a radius around Morph, though they can direct it to individuals as well. The ability prevents one from misgendering others, such as by using the incorrect pronouns, referring to them by gendered terms, or even intentionally implying an incorrect gender. The affected individuals may not know the correct pronouns or gender, but they would be unable to speak if misgendering comments were about to be made. Morph does not use this ability very much, but they occasionally do.
See No More: Morph can alter the “evidence” of one existing as a previous gender. They can change records, alter memories, change belongings - they could make it so that no one ever knew they were any different. However, this can make Morph exhausted, depending on the extent, and they only use it in exceptional circumstances. Partially because it can make things less interesting for them. Additionally, it affects magical beings like Edeia much less effectively; they may forget in conscious memory but some things may linger or not match up.
Gender Encyclopedia: Morph knows of every gender that is created. There are countless, of course.
Pride: This is more of a note on howthey use their shapeshifting abilities, but in the Age of Reunion, they will often change the colors of their wings to pride flag colors. This can be as gradients or as colors in the facets of their wings.
Butterflies: Morph can manifest and control little butterflies made of their magic. They are not sentient and can be controlled by Morph, but they can have some amount of autonomy while Morph is not actively controlling them. Morph can also experiences senses through them.
History
Morph Actualized in the Ancient Ages around the rise of the Greek Empire. They would often seek out those questioning their gender and give them the opportunity to try a new body, and then deciding if they wanted to keep it. A number of same-sex couples were able to have children thanks to them, and some believed them to be a manifestation of Aphrodite, goddess of love - sometimes known as Morpho, which they took as their name at the time.
When the Romans took over, “Morpho” continued to wander in its borders, but they soon wished to explore and set out across the world. Many an individual found themself with a body they were happier with after coming across them. They developed something of a playful personality, and began to exert their power to greater effect - morphing an entire town, for instance. At some point, they chose to be called “Morph” instead.
When the Age of Secrecy came about, they were somewhat behaved for a time. But they were immensely bored much of the time, and listened to the dysphoric auras of those trapped in bodies unsuited for them. So, they began to sneak around and change people, one at a time. This was quickly discovered, especially when they morphed children still under the care of their parents, and Order gave them a number of warnings.
There came a point where they became frustrated with the discrimination and other struggles several individuals faced in regards to their gender, and one day, they morphed an entire city into bodies of the other sex. The intention was for it to last a month, though over than month the morph would shift into whatever reflected their gender as they discovered what another body might be like, before finally settling down into the body that feels most right.
This, of course, does not go well with Order and the others who agreed upon the secrecy, and Morph was locked away into their Abstraction after quite a battle - but only after Order insisted that they fix the damage they have done. They insisted that they only fixed things in the first place, and then rewrote reality with their ability to make the world forget those individuals ever existed differently. They dissipated from overuse of magic and formed in their Abstraction. Locked away and exhausted from their battle and magic, they remained dormant for over 200 years.
They roused from their rest one day, their “sentence” already served. They had gotten visitors for a time, but since they were dormant for so long, the visitors slowed and eventually stopped. They were forgotten, in a sense - not in their existence, but in the fact that they were locked away. They remained in their Abstraction for a while, heedless of time, before Order requested entry. Morph was surprised but agreed, and Order explained the situation to them, that the world was now entering era of Reunion. They warned against causing mayhem, but they welcomed Morph back to the mundane plane, saying that there are many who would benefit from their help.
And so they stepped back into the world.
They approached individuals at a time in their first years back, seeking out those feeling particularly dysphoric and offering them the option to be morphed, whether as a single event or as a trial morph. By 2030, they began hosting an event over June, Pride Month, in which all present in a designated section of a particular city (which one changes each year, but they do discuss it with the city leaders and Order) would receive a trial morph and spend the entire month in a fluid body before ending in their most preferred form. They would then spend the following month or two resting in their Abstraction.
The rest of the year, they are happy to go out to enjoy the world, express their own gender(s) of the day, talk to others, and still help those who could use it on the side.
Abstraction
Morph’s Abstraction is a colorful place. There are vast meadows of fantastical colors - pink grass, dark blue trees - and mountains integrated with crystals of all sorts of colors. Fragments of land and bodies of water may float in the air; some of them have remnants of Greek architecture, typically overtaken by colorful vines. Flora is abundant - grass, leaves, trees, vines, flowers, etc. and the shapes and colors are unusual and fantastical, though the colors may vary from one day to another.
The sky is vibrant whether it is day or night, and it may be cloudy, sunny, or rainy. The colors may differ from the normal colors of the sky.
Little butterflies with wings like Morph’s fly through the air. They are not sentient, but Morph can take control of them, experiencing senses through them and/or controlling their actions.
