Personality:For whatever reason, Reggatta seems to know it all and have all the right connections. How exactly he manages to do so is a mystery, as with everything else about the man. This mysterious omniscience, when paired with his calm, collected demeanor, makes for a charming man highly capable of pulling the strings into his favor.
Such power doesn’t go without pride, and as such, he’s quite the narcissist. He looks down on others, and enjoys toying with them and pushing their buttons to elicit a reaction, simply for his own entertainment. Nonetheless, he’s a stubborn man who remains doggedly loyal to his ideals and his people, whom he cares for deeply.
Background/Bio: Reggatta’s life began as a simple AI program in the 1950s—one seemingly incapable of complex thought or sentience, whose intelligence was thought to be, as blatantly stated, nothing but artificial. As the years passed by and technology advanced, his frame and programming were added onto and improved. Eventually, his codes and memories were transferred into his current, more humanoid body: the body that now brands him as an omnic.
Upon gaining the new body, he struggled immensely with his identity and humanity: was he an omnic? Was he simply a computer program? Was he truly considered an individual? Was his thought truly free and complex? Were the feelings he felt real? Despite the internal dilemma, he came to identify as an omnic in his new body, even going so far as to voluntarily side with them once the Omnic Crisis rolled around. Using his extensive reaches of knowledge, he repaired the broken bodies of his people until the the omnics lost and the war came to a bitter end, taking everything Reggatta had ever loved in its wake.
After the events of the Omnic Crisis, Reggatta witnessed the persecution and discrimination that omnics, himself included, faced simply for existing, despite the fact that the war was declared over. In turn, he formed the Omnic Private Protection Firm, an organization geared toward the protection of omnics and the swift elimination of those who dared to commit bias-motivated crimes against omnics. Unfortunately, his acts of vigilantism did not go unnoticed; the Omnic Private Protection Firm was branded something akin to a “neo-mafia” and was outlawed as a result. Nonetheless, Reggatta and his people continue to operate underground—both metaphorically and literally—all the while using his extensive connections to evade the radar of law enforcement.
