There was a thing going around twitter to post the earliest pic of an OC that you can find, along with the most recent. This is Darien Hawque, the protagonist of a comic idea called 52nd Door, which is what this blog is named. The first image is the actual girst time I drew him and is from high school, maybe 2003. The second is one I did yesterday! The poses are similar on purpose.
I’m finding all kinds of art I never posted here, dang. This is the con banner I made last year, featuring my Overwatch OC, Hotshot. I forgot about her for a while but I still really want to draw her move set.
When Detective Pikachu came out I asked people over on twitter what their Pokémon partner would be, and then decided to draw as many of them as possible. More are on the way but I’ll wait until I have ten before I make another post.
Well the pokemon movie is coming out this week so in celebration here are two more pics from my McCree zine, pokemon au! Jesse chilling with some of his pokemon. He likes holding them I guess.
I started listening to @kingfallsam last month and blew through all the episodes. For those who don’t know, it’s a podcast about a late night small town talk radio show, the two guys that host it, and all the weird supernatural stuff that happens in the town. It switches from crazy shenanigan fun times to tugging at your heart strings easily and often, with great writing, acting, and music. Please do yourself a favor and check it out.
Well I wanted to make some fanart to show my appreciation but instead of drawing how I visualize the characters in my head while listening to the show (at this point I just picture them like some other artists’ drawings anyway), I decided to make a mug lol. I wanted one that the studio might have available to Sammy and Ben (or anyone else that works there I guess) to use while in the office. KFAM’s whole aesthetic is a silhouette of trees and a radio tower on a green/blue background, so I had a good starting point. The one with the yellow radio waves was my original and then I made a variant with rainbow waves due to 1) the rainbow lights, and 2) another reason that might be a spoiler for some people if they’re not caught up so I won’t get specific about it here.
And THEN while I was at it I made myself some phone backgrounds because why the heck not. I’m currently using the text version for my lock screen and the modified rainbow radio waves one for my home screen. Feel free to use them on your own phones!
@kingfallsam I just want y’all to know how much this show means to me and how much I appreciate all the hard work from the whole team that makes KFAM as special as it is.
It’s been uhhh many years since I last made a Scarred for Life story, but I’ve had this one in the works for a while and finally found the time to finish it up in time for ECCC. I don’t think there’s been a con since I released vol. 1 that at least one person hasn’t asked when I was going to make a new chapter, so I can finally tell y’all that time is NOW!
I’ll have physical copies of the comic at ECCC (next week! March 14-17) at table S9 and I’ll be selling them online after I get back, at which point I’ll also start posting the pages on my website. However, the physical version has six pages of extras that won’t be posted online, so if you want to see those then you’ll have to get the comic.
If you’re new to Scarred for Life, it’s my horror/comedy comic about two FBI agents and their intern, and one of the agents has a giant monster mouth full of chompy teeth on his stomach. Sometimes that causes issues. Chapter 7 is about friendship and letting go of anger. It’s not the best jumping on point, but most of vol. 1 is available online at 52nddoor(dot)com (I’m not making that a hyperlink because tumblr’s been weird about that recently).
Clefable was his starter (then a Cleffa) because they’re from the moon and evolve using a moon stone. Sometimes he can’t remember if he has a Gengar or not, which is a weird thing to forget. Zweilous will evolve when Marc and Steven figure out that Jake is there.

I’ve been chipping away at a new Scarred for Life chapter this year, and now I’m almost done!! I should have the whole thing ready to go next week and of course I’ll post a link when it’s available, but until then have some random panels in various stages of completion.
I’ve been drawing Sunshine based on Sailor Moon screenshots. My group starts this campaign next week and I’m pretty psyched to play a teenage monk that just loves punching So Much.
My character for my next dnd campaign. Meet Sunshine, a 15-year-old monk who’s very excited to be leaving the monastery for the first time.
P.S. the writing on her cloak is actually the language of the Ancients from Stargate SG-1 and according to the font I downloaded it says KICK ASS TAKE NAMES.
