I didn’t have time to write something for day 3 and 4, but I don’t think I’d change anything about Padmé’s story, perhaps, and it was well said by politicalpadme,I wouldn’t delete most of her scenes. I think the post did say more than I ever could. xD
Day 5. What would Padmé’s ‘revenge’ look like?
Revenge?
I don’t think Padmé could ever think about Revenge. Justice, yes, but revenge no. Although I’ve read and enjoyed some fics in which Padmé she took revenge for what happened to her, for all she has lost. I don’t think it suits her character.
For starters, I don’t see nothing wrong with characters who seek revenge, in fact, there are some amazing cinematographic pieces and some of the best literature in which characters sought revenge. However, as I said before, I don’t think it suits Padmé.
Second, Padmé is a very sensible person and I do think revenge is far more for those more emotional. I am not saying she isn’t a passionate person, she is — she married Anakin after all. However, she has always been the more rational of the both of them and I don’t really see her seeking revenge. It’s something I could certainly expect from Anakin, but not from Padmé.
As the saying goes “Revenge is always the weak pleasure of a narrow and weak mind”
If she had survived, she would seek justice. And there’s a fine line between revenge and justice, but it’s there and I don’t see her crossing this line. If she had to make someone pay for wrong deeds, I think she certainly would, but I don’t see her using any foul means. It’s just not her…
I am also aware that some events change people, and sometimes for the worse, but for someone who have always sought justice and openly fought corruption, I don’t see Padmé being that easily corrupted… And if she did, I don’t see her living with that.
Look, we all thought that spending 19 years living in the dunes of Tantooine and protecting a young Luke Skywalker was what turns Obi-Wan Kenobi grizzly and grey.
Nope. It’s having an extended anxiety attack after finding out that Anakin is still alive while on a rescue mission/odd couple road trip with Leia Organa, Anakin and Padmé’s incredibly stubborn, insightful, and headstrong daughter, that turns him grizzly and grey.
