Hey y'all, I thought I’d give this rec thing a go and do a first ever (for me) “Send in Your Recs” thing! Starting in June, and hopefully once a month after that, I’d like to do a “spread the love” type event where I post a Master List of recommendations.

I am absolutely fascinated by this Jedi High Council Seating Chart (from Star Wars Super Graphic) because I’d never really stopped to think about who was sitting in what chair.
Some of them stay in their same seats! Like Mace, Yoda, Plo, and Ki-Adi are all in the same seats from beginning to end. Some of them leave the Council for whatever reason, we know Even and Adi died, we don’t know what happened to Yaddle or Yarael.
But then there’s like.
KIT. WHY ARE YOU IN ONE SEAT IN SEASON 4, THEN TAKE OPPO’S CHAIR IN SEASON 5, AND THEN BACK TO YOUR REGULAR ONE IN SEASON 6 THROUGH REVENGE OF THE SITH?
SHAAK. WHY ARE YOU BOUNCING ALL OVER THE PLACE? YOU CAN BARELY KEEP TO ONE?
And I am desperate to know if this is a musical chairs situation where whoever gets there earliest gets to choose their seat and do they sometimes deliberately pick another Councilor’s seat when they want to be annoying? Is Shaak picking her seat based on who she wants to nettle today?
Are there ALL OUT JEDI MASTER BRAWLS OVER WHO GETS DIBS ON WHICH SEAT OR A FIGHT TO THE DEATH FOR THE COMFY CHAIR WITH THE BEST VIEW?
Or is there some meaning, like “you sit in chair #6, you’re head of the senate ambassadorial committee” or “you sit in chair #3 and you’re head of the younglings’ daycare” and Yoda parked his ass there in chair #3 and refused to move for decades???
I AM DESPERATE TO KNOW.
Can’t believe I’m frantically Googling for Jedi Council room screenshots because this has eaten my brain, but! At least one question has been answered!
THE SEATS APPARENTLY ROTATE WITH THEM???
Seasons 1-4 stay the same style, as their members stay the same the entire time (Plo, Mace, Yoda, Ki-Adi), but then you can see chair #5 changes between Attack of the Clones andThe Clone Wars which I guess is once it becomes Obi-Wan’s seat?
And when Saesee moves, his style of chair moves with him. And this makes some sense, like Oppo needs the chair with the hole in the back for his tail–we see him slither out of it, which begs the question, HOW DOES HE GET IT IN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE?
The hole is not big enough for him to slither through face first, so is Oppo backing up into his seat and doing that shifting wiggle thing snakes do until he gets settled? Does he yank himself backwards with the Force to get situated into place? Does one of the other Councilors help him instead??
HOW DID HE GET HIS SNAKE ASS INTO THAT CHAIR?? I NEED TO KNOW.
Not that any of this answers if it’s just a case of musical chairs or if the chairs have specific meanings.
Like, does Yoda say, “move over, you will, Saesee, want my favorite grandchild closer, I do” when Obi-Wan joins the Council??
Does a Jedi pick their favorite seat and whenever they’re asked to move, “There are good vibes for me here, the Force wills it that this is my seat.” and they get into an argument about who has the better vibes for which chairs??
Does a Jedi Councilor ever come in and find that THEIR ENTIRE CHAIR WAS MOVED during the night and it’s just not worth arguing with Saesee because he’s like a cat, he’ll just blink at you while you’re yelling at him and then knock over a plant if you try to move him back?? Is that where there’s no plants in the Jedi Council room??
The great thing about Obi-Wan and Anakin is that Obi-Wan thinks “I’d die for you” is an appropriate confession of love and Anakin thinks “I’d kill for you” is an appropriate confession of love, but both of them are supremely horrified that the other person would ever say anything like that
