Some digital art studies I did back in summer 2021, of eyes and water
My favourites to do were the top right for the eye studies (let’s just ignore the hair situation, it was an eye study! ) and the bottom left for the water! The bottom right was also super hard at first but it got easier after I started just letting myself draw what I could see and not what I *thought* the water would look like.
And I just realised I never actually posted this BTS Vmin-inspired digital painting I did in late 2021 for @/elysian.21’s ‘Draw This In Your Style’ challenge on Instagram! It was themed around Vmin’s song ‘Friends’

With j-hope’s birthday just around the corner, I realised I never posted the little paintings I did for Jimin’s birthday last October! (Same goes for Jin and Tae so they’ll be coming up in a bit.)
Had a lot of fun with these! It was themed around Jimin’s ‘BE’ room as part of a collab on Instagram. His hair and the flowers were my favourite parts to paint

About the art
Initially I’d planned to colour the piece like 'normal’, but I’d done the sketch in white on a coloured BG and loved it so much that I wanted to try keeping it to the end! I’ve never tried this style before, but I had a lot of fun. The blanket, interestingly, developed almost…fire-like vibes? Blueish for the hottest flame?
I also had fun trying very slight drop shadowing for the writing and Procreate’s bokeh brush. Lots of new things in this painting! Hope you like it

The next Paintable ‘One Week Portrait’ challenge is starting on Monday (11th April)!
Just sharing the one I did for last year’s OWP - it was a lot of fun, especially because I thought I wouldn’t be able to participate due to a house move around the same time.
This year I’ll be painting a self-portrait to use as my profile picture across my channels!

‘Tears’
The first in a forthcoming illustrated poetry anthology with poet Virginia Stone (V) - read their poem 'Tears’ below and on their website!
They have no life,
they have no soul,
but make us lose control.
They are born, just to die
and if they come,
they burn like fire in the eye.
They make their way,
come what may.
You can try to avoid them,
but you won’t succeed,
in a way or another they make you bleed.
Afterwards you’ll be feeling better
guilt, sadness, anger and despair,
that’s all about they care.
What they need is really clear,
it’s not your heart,
your soul makes them fear.
It gives them their moment
and takes it as well.
Their salty taste is everything they leave
before they go back,
to heaven or hell.
