Latest commission, yet another showing for the ever popular Good Omens!

Full image of this one, I really love/hate doing those old UK Discworld covers! I was very upset when they changed from Josh Kirby to Paul Kidby- both great, but they stopped having the cover wrap around the whole book!

(”[I] had a commission for a French publication that seemed the perfect opportunity to create the painting Check Mort, which I had been developing in my mind for a long while.  Knowing that one of Terry’s favorite films was The Seventh Seal it seemed only fitting to parody the scene where the knight, Antonius Block, plays chess with Death.  Terry was battling Alzheimer’s by the time I created this piece, giving the painting an emotive dimension which was not part of my original concept.  I worked out the chess moves so that Terry’s pieces are positioned on the board to win.”–Paul Kidby)

Sir Pratchett, it has been an honor.
