There were so, so many pokemon contending for this, but every one’s favorite doberman from hell won out.
This was done incredibly quick (about 20 minutes from start to finish?), so excuse the silly looking fire. I couldn’t be bothered to put any more effort into it because I’m almost done!
Iadore the Cyndaquil line (obviously, haha!). So much that I had to draw them all (despite me being behind). I’m probably going to be breeding for a shiny Cyndy soon, so wish me luck on that endeavor! (spoiler: I succeed!)
Delphox is my favorite design due to concept alone because, honestly, Gamefreak could of applied the idea a lot better, imo. However, that doesn’t keep me from adoring this very creative pokemon! I love mages, and I love foxes. So, naturally, I love Delphox.
Pictured above is Kana, my Delphox from my Y playthrough, looking snarky as ever.
This was difficult for me because I hate, hate, hate, hate, HATE the new mega evolution mechanic. I’m not going to rant and ramble about that, though, don’t worry.
On top of my initial dislike for the mechanic, a lot of mega designs look, well, stupid to me. They’re either too busy or too unreasonable or just plain silly. I do, however, like Mega Alakazam. It amuses me. So, I went with that one.
Cleffa and not Togepi?! Yes, I know, I know. Its shocking. But Togepi was my first choice! I just changed my mind after looking at Cleffa. Its sooo cute and omg just look at it! Man, I really want a Clefable now.
I also figured that since I already drew Togekiss, the Cleffa line could get some love, too.
Raichu counts, right? I’ve always, always preferred Raichu over Pikachu (not that Pikachu isn’t awesome – its just Rairai has always been more cool to me).
Pictured above is Tally, one of the (many) Raichu I’ve trained. She’s got the ability Lightning Rod, so she doesn’t mind a zap (or two).
With today comes not only my favorite water type, but arguably one of my most favorite pokemon of all time (top 5, for sure): Swampert!
There’s countless things I adore about Swampert. From design to typing to stats… But the paramount reason is actually an emotional one: Swampert was my very first pokemon. Well, mudkip, actually, if you want to be technical.
I wasn’t allowed to own a Gameboy in my childhood days (despite my yearning and begging), so it wasn’t until I was much older that I had the privilege to play a pokemon game. It was on my DS Lite that I first entered the pokemon world via a copy of Emerald. I loved it just as much as I knew I would. That game definitely has a fond place within my heart.
I picked Mudkip for my starter and named him Kipper (original, I know). He is now a Swampert and happily resides on my copy of Pearl. I cannot wait to port my ol’ boy over to X&Y when pokebank comes out.
Pictured above is Kipper, in all his spotty glory. This was a bit of a challenge (for some reason Swampert’s anatomy doesn’t like to look right when I draw it), but I tried.
Aaand that’s it for all the types! Wow. 18 days in, folks. More than halfway there!
This was an easy one (for once!). Aggron is definitely my favorite steel type – hands down. Its tough and sturdy and if you think its going to be some heavy weight you can just outspeed and run circles around, Rock Polish/Automize will prove you wrong.
Pictured above is Syndara, my Aggron in-game (who is actually based off of a friend’s character). She’s reckless, relentless, and ruthless. With her ability Rock Head, normally moves that’d be very punishing (namely Head Smash) cost her no recoil damage. Rock Polish also renders her as speedy as she needs to be, so outrunning her might be a little harder than anticipated. She’s a beast.
Iloath mega evolution, so she doesn’t ever mega evolve (I haaate Aggron’s mega evolution on top of that, so that doesn’t help).
The Rock type is one of those types that has a lot of pokemon I like (Aerodactyl, Kabutops, etc), but not ADORE. So, this was a tough one.
However! I do fancy the new dinos quite a bit so that made it easier. This was a very, very close race between Tyrantrum and Aurorus. Pure design-wise I like Aurorus better, but I like myself a t-rex better than a sauropod most days of the week, so rexy won out. Sorry, Aurorus! I still love you.
Done in a simple style because I have very little experience drawing dinos and I didn’t want this to become a chore. Above is just a random Tyrantrum (since I’ve yet to train one). Maybe I’ll have to change that…
Ever since the addition of Delphox I’ve been a little more uncertain of my favorite psychic type, but at the end of the day it looks like Espeon remains at the top. Its such an amazing pokemon and is truly one of my all-time favorites.
Pictured above is our character Rorrik as an Espeon (Rorspeon, respectively, haha). I have yet to raise Rorspeon in actual-game, but I definitely plan on that soon.
I’ve trained a few Espeon through-out the years, including one in my Y play-through. His name is Sven and he’s a cutie (…that can potentially fry your brain with raw psychic power, but a cutie nonetheless).
