My grandad’s ‘triggering’ 1960s race documentary
In 1968 the BBC broadcast a documentary exploring people’s experiences of racism with the police.
Entitled Equal Before the Law?, it was part of a series called Cause for Concern?, which pitched itself as taking up the cause of people fighting for a fair deal.
The original broadcast was controversially cancelled following concerns raised by the Metropolitan Police but the programme eventually went to air - with Magnus Magnusson as its host.
Now, more than 50 years later, the BBC’s Lorna Acquah has traced the family of one of the men featured in the programme to hear about its impact on them.
This means the police have literally created a group of captive people. They can pick them off at will to incarcerate and thereby create make them into criminals-the only people allowed to be legally enslaved in this country. Ferguson is a captive and enslaved population and it’s all supposedly legal.
Yeah, it’s official: Ferguson = a police state.
It’s even scarier if we factor in kids. In the US about 20% of the population is under 15 years of age. Now assuming that there aren’t a bunch of 8 year olds in Ferguson with outstanding arrest warrants (though at this point I’m not sure we can actually make that assumption) that means almost person 15 and older in Ferguson has been criminalized. So if you took 10 adults at random in Ferguson, the police would consider 9 of them fugitives.

That’s what the Hongkong police do now, they are on the same side with the thugs, turn a blind eye when people are being attacked.
Then they attack and arrest ordinary people who participate in legal gathering. The police issued letter of no objection to the march on 1 January 2020, over a million people were in it, yet they were told to stop the march and leave in a very short period of time.
Over 400 people were arrested on 1 January, some of the arrestees were just passerby who happened to be in the area.
This is the quality of Hong Kong police.

Police celebrated by shooting teargas, even in crowded area like Tsim Sha Tsui, where people go to celebrate.
Hong Kong police accused Spark Alliance, a group that provides humanitarian support to the arrested protesters, of money laundering.
Over $70m donation from HongKongers had been frozen.
The government is trying to take away the protesters’ resources and force the people to stop protesting, rather than finding a way to communicate.

Because The Police are only proficient at over-criminalizing Black & Brown POC communities.

The police DO NOT KEEP Black & Brown POC communities safe.
THE POLICE DO NOT PROTECT & SERVE US.
If police started dropping White boys in the street….. on site … the same White folks that are silent or justify police murder of unarmed Black children..would be outraged and defending the lives of mass murderers.

We have to understand POLICE TERRORISM continues because there is a large population of people that are totally ok with it…. because they know they have privilege and it won’t happen to them. There are White people who know that Apartheid conditions exist in America & justify it. And there are a lot of status quo who stay silent because they know the inner city/marginalized communities are the ones who suffer the bulk of mistreatment at the hands of this police state.
