THE RECORD COLLECTING YEAR OF 2015 IN REVIEW
This mix is a selection of my favorite record finds made during the past year. Originally compiled as a christmas present for a few select (albeit uninterested) friends and co-workers, I’ve finally decided to let this monstrosity loose for all to see.
Some of these are old time wants that was finally scored during 2015, others are new acquantainces. Some rare, some common, some expensive, some cheap; with all sorts of genres represented. Centered around the 80:s and late 70:s as well as my own shitty taste, of course. I hope you’ll enjoy!!

Can we talk about @thedreadedlaramieband for a sec? I just love everything about them: their look, their sound, their humor, their sense of camaraderie. It’s the individuals in the band, though, that make them especially neat. I’ve known @junipertapes and Zach since college and they have always been exceptional human beings. Watching them form this band and grow and flourish over these past few years and just absolutely kill it has been such a joy. So, do me a favor and 1) follow them right now if you don’t already and 2) buy/stream their new EP, Everything a Girl Could Ask. I love the arrangements and musicality and overall energy of this project so much that I just went a little cross-eyed and bought a digital copy AND ordered it on vinyl. Join me!

Day 10: WORRY - Jeff Rosenstock
When this album dropped in 2016, I was hooked- I think this is @jeffrosenstock’s magnum opus (at least so far- I hope to see more, especially after POST- came out this year!). WORRY captures the uncertainty that many young adults and even grown adults can associate with, and is such a masterclass in weaving soul-crushing, brutally honest lyrics with incredibly poppy melodies and sound, jumping around Jeff’s stylistic background including the hardcore punk, ska, light dustings of chiptune, and the powerpop that has come to define his solo work. If you haven’t heard it, don’t sleep on it. Seriously.

Day 8: Make Believe - Weezer
Ohhhhh the melodies. Not much to say, other than that this album singlehandedly got me into the melodic powerpop (and to the sad nerdboy) aesthetic. So many bangers on this album, from Beverly Hills to Perfect Situation to We Are All On Drugs… well, actually, basically every song on this album is not worth sleeping on.
