I forgot to ever post this: some more propagandaposting for my favorite “never canonly interacted outside of a massive stretch of a single line in a light novel, so I’m really just making it up whole cloth” duo

Inspired by characters like Koichi describing things as “Short Range” or “Power Type” Stands and going “when did these characters get sat down and told the Stand User Glossary?”

Was thinking about how Kira’s Stand is called Killer ‘Queen.’ I think it’s also implied he named it himself,so maybe he either likes the song/band (insert Patrick Bateman speech here), or it’s an interesting flavor of “People who are Stand Users, but never had it explained what a Stand is in Particular.”

Like father, like daughter

I finished rewatching Part 4 today (as I was showing it to a friend)

It really reminded me of how much I like Hayato (and the Kawajiri household plot as a whole). The mounting horror of Kira’s presence is palpable, and Hayato’s strength and smarts despite being still a kid (and without a Stand) is really compelling.

And, despite 4 having pretty much the happiest ending it can have, he’s still saddled with a very bittersweet outcome, even though he fought as hard as he could. There’s a part of my brain that loves a tragedy like that.

I was thinking about the name, “Buccellati,” and what Araki could be referencing with it.

Buccellati is both a famous (and expensive) Italian jewellry brand, but it’s also an alternate name of a cookie eaten around Christmastime (at least in Sicily). At least, that’s my secondhand understanding, so please correct me if anything’s wrong.

I think both interpretations can apply to both sides of Bruno, though. He went from living with his father in an everyman, working position, to a much more dangerous way of life, but also one that’s very flashy and holds power over others.

I think the double-reference with his name can be pulled out and reflected into his character, if one really wants to.
