Bringing this over here from my twitter; the infamous magazine scan featuring the “Magical Girl Puyo 7” Concept Art, fully translated. The original scan was provided by @DusklightDGArle on twitter.
It reveals which stage of development that art came from and, among other things, finally confirms the long-held suspicion that the blue and yellow magical girls were early concepts for Maguro and Risukuma. And, yes, the idea of “Puyo Poppin’ Magical Girls” was, apparently, where the Transformation Mode originally came from. That sure explains why Ringo’s “Mega”-form outfit still looks pretty Magical-girl-y, huh?
When I posted this translation on twitter, I jokingly asked people to draw fanart of Risukuma as a baker’s and florist’s son, and some people actually did it! I’d urge you to search out that fanart on twitter. It’s really neat!
