”Freddie, you’re going to have to lip sync”

Freddie: okay sure

Okay, yes I’m reblogging it again. But I habe to say something.

Look at that moment where Deacy flawlessly lifts the neck of his bass up and over Freddie so he doesn’t run into it. He’s gotten so used to Freddie and is so in sync with his style that he can just…do that and make it look flawlessly choreographed.

But that’s not just years of playing together.

If you watch the 1973 performance of Keep Yourself Alive on The Old Grey Whistle Test (the upload on the official Queen channel) there’s another moment like this at 1:44 (Well I loved a million women in a belladonic haze…) Fred almost runs into John. Deacy just…casually side steps, then moves right back into place. He keeps on wobbling and disco-ing. I’ve seen people say he seems so disconnected and that he doesn’t pay attention on stage. Granted, those are usually the people who commonly underestimate and underappreciate Darling Deacy. But I don’t know WHAT those people are talking about. He knows precisely what’s going on. And John was definitely in tune with Fred from the start.

Also can we take a moment to appreciate that John looks as though he’s just come from a parent teacher conference and just happens to play bass in one of the worlds most famous groups I love Deaky
