Broken

We are irreparably and irrevocably broken. There’s not another way around it. Nothing can fix us; fix the world. Everyone knows that we aren’t perfect. We have our flaws. But what people might have not yet realized is that we are hopeless the moment we open our eyes in that hospital room. We are taught by our parents, teachers, friends and neighbors about the unfairness of the world we live in but they never do tell us the harsh reality. We are broken as a whole.

We break things, we break people, we break our environment and we break our animals. Sometimes we do it intentionally and sometimes we do not.

But despite all that, despite our weaknesses and how broken everything is around us, there is a certain beauty in trying to fix ourselves. We pick up glue guns and we start piece by piece. We will not be completely fixed but we will not be completely broken either.
