Interesting fact: Owl (who is a Western Screech Owl) was initially going to be a Great Horned Owl. Would have been too big for Cass’s shoulder but would have been interesting. Season 2 of Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure ends this Sunday!

Aside from Co-Executive Producing “Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure” I also serve as one of the character designers. Here’s one of the designs I’m most proud of, Adira. My good friend David Pimentel alway whines at me that I don’t post enough “rough” artwork so here are all the dirty scribbles, doodles, and thoughts that led to Adira’s final design. (Whose final color was done by Alison Jota). A big thank you to Bosook Coburn whose knowledge and passion of Korean Culture helped lead me down this path to figuring out Adira’s look. I was especially thrilled when the Tangled fans discovered that Adira’s Braid Clips and Earing are designed to mirror the “Brotherhood” symbol on her hand and belt! (“Repetition with variation” as my wise design teacher Leo F. Monahan taught me).

Tom Caulfield, one of our directors on Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure, started a challenge for the crew to draw themselves as birds in honor of our upcoming episode “Freebird” airing this Sunday! Here I am as an angry little Pygmy Owl!

One of my proudest moments from the Tangled Finale!
After 4 years and 70 episodes we’ve made it to the Last week of production on “Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure”! There’s only 2 shows left before our EPIC 66 minute SERIES FINALE airs on Sunday March 1st! I’m sooo proud of this show and how it’s turned out and can’t wait for everyone to see how it ends!!!

Saw some Cosplayers looking for S3 Varian costume reference so I thought I’d upload my designs and turns of him. These were all colored by the Amazing Teri Shikasho!
Also you can all thank Kaitlyn Ritter (whose “K” initial appears on Varian’s Villian Costume gauntlet) and Anna Lencioni for getting rid of Varian’s goatee! Look, I thought it was a good idea until Anna came up with the gag of Lance wiping it off. Judging from the fandom’s reaction I’m sure glad she did! Ha ha!
So excited to see the reaction to a special present to the Tangled Fandom I dropped into tomorrow’s episode “No Time Like the Past”! You #TheBlackRockers are gonna love it!
