things that are cringe about this fic is that I forgot you can tab in on ao3 but it was too late to make new formatting choices so I just copy pasted like 9 spaces into everywhere I wanted tabbed in. if you have a screen reader I can only assume this is a horrible thing to do and I will try think of a better solution during the week.

Summary: Young inventor, Maka Albarn, is working on an invention and this spring, she’s going to present it to the richest people in Death City and get it patented. If she can actually get it to work, that is. A close deadline, terrible hours, and her boss constantly breathing down her neck are only adding to her stress but she’s determined to make it work. She forms an unexpected friendship with the local pub’s pianist, Soul, who soon proves to have the skills needed to assist her in perfecting her invention. Steampunk AU.
