“Delpheos remains,” I remind her and gingerly sink into my chair. My visit with the Oracles turns over again, too fresh to ignore with the open wounds seeping into my wool tunic.
Her face, lined and intense, turns to study me completely. Wide cheekbones are more pronounced, cheeks hollow with age in our time apart. Her mouth turns down and pulls tight in the corners in consideration. I retreat into myself before the temptation of diving into her present thoughts becomes an overwhelming need. With no move to trespass her mind, I can only wonder; what changes does she see in me? Am I taller, paler? Is she proud of me?
I decide I don’t want to know.
Stella’s expression is unreadable when she turns back to the slate board.

I love how, as opposed to BLs that have one straight female who desperately tries to separate the two guys, the sole recurring female character in Cherry Magic is not only asexual, but fervently ships the two guys.
