Touched By St. Matthew
Touched By St. Matthew
Matthew the Apostle is the patron saint of economists, civil servants, bankers, and, for some reason, perfumers. This is probably because he is a he was a tax collector in the traditional stories. Rowan probably doesn‘t take this seriously. It’s just a tidbit she’s collected to troll Brian with.
He certainly seems “touched” to her.
Crossing The Pass
Don’t think too badly of Wendy about being impressed by a mountain pass. Not counting plane flights, she’s never been farther east than Lake Washington.
Dielle is referring to an unknown episode of her cross country trip to Homestead. While she’s most likely exaggerating, don’t expect to get anymore details out of her.
A Plan For Everyone
A Plan For Everyone
Brian has shown several times that he has a plan for everything… and everyone involved with them.
Olive probably realizes this enough to be in complete denial about this.
No one said they were good plans, after all.
Just Checking In
Checking in on Bert’s progress is a very important thing to do. You don’t want him to improvise anymore than necessary.
Another All-Nighter
It’s no secret that Brian is notorious for pulling one all-nighter after another on a project, only to crash after a few days.
This is something Rowan dislikes. Especially when he does it the night before a big meeting. It’s not as if he’ll make the firm look bad, it’s just the principle of the thing.
Looking Out For You
Looking Out For You
After Tuesday, Fran wonders if Isra Nyx is looking out for them. She certainly was looking out for something.
Buffer
Gage, sweetie, Dielle’s helping you out. Her saying she gave you a buffer to make sure you’re not late isn’t implying anything.
Anything Paul and the others are saying, however…
Rude Awakening
It looks like having a night of drinking before a busy day wasn’t one of Kate’s better life choices. Especially when her large, no-nonsense, personal assistant is more than happening to give her a rude awakening.
It’s shocking enough that the question of whether she’s given Hilda her key yet doesn’t occur to her for once.
Taking Control
Don’t critique the way Kate is taking control of her life, Rowan. It’s impolite.
It’s Suppertime?
It’s Suppertime?
When you have the first day of work free of interruptions in a couple of weeks suppertime can come as a bit of a surprise.
First Break
Barring a few… complications getting there, the band’s first gig on this road trip has gone quite all right so far. Of course, they’ve only gotten past the first set. Who knows what could happen in the next two hours?
Look who’s back! We last saw Gabriella here. She doesn’t seem happy.
Survived The First Day
Survived The First Day
Laurel couldn’t believe the day was finally over. She couldn’t believe that the day had only been the orientation. She didn’t want to imagine what the rest of the weekend would be like, and it annoyed her that she didn’t have to since the binder in front of her itemized everything in great detail. But at least she survived. She didn’t understand most of it and what little she understood…
Pranksters
It looks as if the “Pranksters” were very busy.
I was a little conflicted by writing this scene. While this city that the Band is visiting is no Homestead, it’s no Mayberry either. I wasn’t sure if they would consider some pranksters messing with the roadsigns a “crime wave”. However, Bert can be quite efficient when he needs to be. Let’s all be very glad that it’s all kept under control by his…
Not Late, Really
Dielle looked at her phone and sighed in relief. She still couldn’t believe it. After all of the precautions she had taken, they had barely made it to the venue on time.
Even getting a half-hour head start wasn’t enough. The traffic was backed up to a snail’s pace and none of the road signs had anything in common with what they said on the map! At least nobody could stop them for speeding. (Even…
