LIVE

@rksohee

it’s been a while since he’s been to a private event like this, a showing closed to the general public, meant for just a select few. he prefers it like this, and those who know him would understand why, but opportunities like this don’t come around too often, so when the chance arises, he doesn’t hesitate to take it, even if he has to move some things around in his schedule. it’s also a good chance to see people he hasn’t seen in a while, a fact made evident when he spots sohee as soon as he enters the building.

as soon as he does, though, he almost doesn’t greet her, realizing just how long it’s been since he’s talked to her, or even reach out just to see how she was doing. it’s no secret that he has a lot of improving to do when it comes to friendships, not only in this manner but in so many others, but fixing those faults is a whole other matter and not one he’s going to address any time soon. still, he figures ignoring the mistake is better than ignoring her completely, so he ends up approaching her anyway, and he’s glad he did.

the night consists of quiet conversation, exchanging thoughts and ideas on their mutual friend’s pieces, admiring the detail and hard work that must have gone into each and every one of them. if he had a little more cash to spare, he’d probably even offer to buy one of them, but things have been tight this month, so he makes a promise to do so next time.

the show comes to a close faster than he anticipates, and while things like this have always been something he enjoys, he feels his energy quickly drain once the group talks about heading out for a meal and a few drinks. he’s already shaking his head before the attention can even be drawn to him, and he makes quiet comment to sohee so that he can avoid having to explain himself to everyone. “hey, i think i’m gonna head home,” he says to her, hoping she can convey the message to everyone else. “are you good?”

it was the first time in a while that sohee had felt exhausted. her new pet kept her on her toes. having an axolotl meant a lot of regulation of the tank water and consistency. even if her father had gotten an automatic machine that does most of it for her (clean the tank, add chemicals to the water and keep it proper temperature), sohee usually did routine checks every second she could to make sure her baby was okay.

she also had to teach ellie not to try and swat at david while he was swimming around. darn cat was young but still lively and very much so a hunter. the axolotl may not have been a fish per say, but it was still a smaller animal that looked fun to play with, sohee supposed. so to get herself out of the house she went back to the dance studio for some extra time dancing. it wasn’t as nearly as strong as her singing (she had to work a bit harder than others to nail choreographies) but the extra dedications didn’t bother her.

like any other person she wore out eventually, deciding to snuggle up on the floor for a few minutes while her phone charged. that’s not to say that a “few minutes” easily transitioned towards thirty which she was well on her way to achieving. there was a sudden vibration throughout the floor thanks to the thumping music. the music was at a much higher volume compared to what she had been playing previously. the sudden transition from silence to complete noise jolted her awake physically. she jerked into alertness and looked up sourly in the direction of the amplifier.

instead she found herself looking at a man dancing along to the music, which had been the last thing she was expecting. so many irate and half explored questions littered her mind: namely why in the bloody hell the male would be dancing in a room where she was sleeping with other dance rooms being available.

kat gets up, glaring at the male as she does so, and stalks over to the radio and shutting it off. she kept her sleepy, grumpy contact with the male the entire time. “excuse you,” she started off sourly. at least she remembered to speak in korean and not switch to english in anger. “what the hell are you doing here this time of night? who the heck are you?”

He was still absorbed in the continuesly flowing music when he heard light but fierce steps behind him. And a following angry girl’s voice made him flinch. Hee Gun moved his right eyebrow as he hesitated to answer her strange question. “I am dancing since this is a dance studio, not a sleeping room. And before you want me to introduce myself you should go, brush your teeth and state your name first.” The male crossed his arms. “I am sure your mother didn’t taught you to talk to your seniors that way.”

Actually he would never talk to a girl with such harsh words because he knew his mother would be sad to hear so. And it wasn’t like him to speak up his mind this rude since he rather liked to keep peace and harmony between people although he never restrained himself from stating his opinion directly. But nevertheless he always considered the feelings of the others.

This night was different. He didn’t liked the way she had appeared. Her arrogance was annoying and it felt like she thought of herself as the queen of the world. Girls like this were absolutely not his style. Guys who had the same traits wouldn’t be his friends either. It was hard to deal with them and he rather avoided the contact with such people but since she already attacked him he couldn’t resist and had to stand his man. He was sure to be older than her so he would teach her a lesson.

sohee wasn’t the most confident about this filming. dose wasn’t a strong point for her. although she practised until she fell over, she knew that hip hop was just a weak point for her. that’s what she was dragged for for months before k.arma’s lineup was finalised. even if she worked hard, she was still called terrible and said she didn’t improve.

a part of her is absolutely terrified of filming and being the cause to having to start over.

so she was trying to focus on little things to make her happy. like her clothes and hair and the thrill of debut being that much closer. it was all she could do considering. she wasn’t expecting yubin to feel particularly nervous at all. mostly because yubin so clearly deserved all this.

“why would this be a joke? you worked hard for this. even in the beginning you were told that you were ready to be a part of the group.” that was still something that deeply wounded sohee. not that she was jealous. just that at no point during the predebut process – even the very end – was she ever told that she was good enough to be a part of k.arma. not a single time. in fact, she was told more how much of a disappointment she was. how she was only there because she was a trainee for so long. nothing more.

“ah, thank you unnie,” sohee said softly. there was a small pout on her face if only because yubin didn’t seem to believe in herself. “you probably are biased.” sohee had to chuckle even a little bit. “i don’t look like a hip hop dancer because i’m not. i probably look silly! like i’m dressing up for halloween.”

she shrugged her shoulders and looked over sohee’s head. “i guess it’s a mental thing.” even if she was way beyond the point of guessing. yubin knew it was a mental problem. it was easy to wrap herself in her thoughts, good or bad. and they were all mostly bad. “i don’t think our ceo would be mean enough or that hayoon would willingly waste her time to string me along…” there was a but there. she just wasn’t that sure of what it was.

“but i guess, after everything that happened. it’s hard to me to think that good things would come my way. or thinking that after every time something good happens, something horrible will happen.” yubin shrugged her shoulders again, tapping her fingers on her legs. nerves. they always got her in the best and worst of times. “i also guess i can’t help but be biased when it comes to you.” but she also knew when someone looked good.

“i’ll be honest. you might not look like a natural born hip-hop dancer but that’s when we finally dance, and i won’t look like it either. my focus is in contemporary dance. but i do when know someone looks like a..” she leaned, just sohee could hear her. “looks like a bad bitch~ and you do. you look good, now we just have to get you feeling good. bad dancers or not, confidence is what really carries it.”

rksohee:

“ah…” sohee pouted at her reflection in the mirror. she wasn’t accustomed to dressing like this. it wasn’t her style in particular (she was more high fashion than super casual street fashion like this). her midriff was exposed but it wasn’t like it showed the abs that she had finally gotten from the gym workouts. it seemed like a waste but she knows the modesty was for the sake of the promotional video. the outfit wasn’t terrible (thankfully) so sohee didn’t have many negative comments about it.

she turned to yubin, who was looking good in her own outfit for the choreography video. “unnie look i got pigtails!” sohee says with a bright smile. her fingers wrap around both tied locks of hair and swings it about to prove her point. “i wish the shirt fit a but differently but i like this outfit. i just don’t wear stuff like this a lot.” she was mostly musing out loud but yubin’s opinion would be beneficial for her in return. she wasn’t the type to dress like this ever. she hoped it wasn’t obvious that she was out of her element.

“are you excited? are you ready? it’s the first official filming!” although it wasn’t for their music video itself, it was for their teaser. that was just as good because this content was being released sooner. “it seems to be happening all at once.”

@yubinrk

“it really does.” yubin grinned and took a moment to take sohee in. out of all the girls, sohee was the closet to her. it was one thing to really debut, it was another thing to debut with sohee. “even now, i still can’t believe it.” it was unreal, this was going to be for their debut.

their debut.

“i am excited but i’m also nervous because…” she trailed off, trying to think about why she would be nervous. “i don’t know,. i think i’m scared this is all some big cosmic joke or i’ll mess and they’ll put me out. it’s hard to be believe the good things that are happening.” it was hard for her to accept any good thing without wondering what would follow that was bad. “but i’m debuting with you. it’s the best thing that could happen to me.” then she walked a bit closer and paid with sohee’s pony tails herself, staring at the girl with love in her eyes. “and you look perfect. but i could be biased, you’ve always been perfect to me.” and the fondness in her voice.

rksohee‌:

it had been a few months since they were able to mingle with the other trainees. as time went on, it became a little more obvious as to why the same number of girls were somehow nowhere to be found at any given moment of the day aside from meals. all suspicions were confirmed once teasers were dropping. at least by then none of them would get fired or kicked off for saying yes once their teaser is out.

sometime between the month where they were finally allowed to mingle with other trainees again and right before their debut, trc picked up new blood. sohee had noticed something about trc really taking advantage of this surge of interest in the company. they had done auditions in the mean time that k.arma was getting ready to drop. there were new people walking in trc’s halls. sohee didn’t want to be rude. with the few days of official trainee status left, she wanted to at least greet them.

the confused expression on the girl’s face is valid for multiple reasons. sohee doesn’t question her. she was, however, surprised by the girl’s usage of sunbae. despite being most of the company’s sunbae, it’s rare for any of them to address her as such. now that she was debuting in a few days, she would be everyone’s sunbae and it would be rude not to call her as such.

“i just wanted to say hi!” she confesses with a wide smile. “i know i won’t be around much soon but i wanted to make sure you’re adjusting well here and you know your way around. i’d hate for you to get lost and most of us will be gone in may.” though it was nearly four years ago, she remembered being sleepy and overwhelmed with the sheer amount of physical demand training brought all at once. there wasn’t any ease into it. it was just training every single day without break.

“i can also hang out with you for the day. make sure you’ve got your bearings.”

she keeps her eyes focused blankly on the girl sitting in front of her out of sake of politeness, but honestly jei just wishes that she could have kept to herself.  she won’t mention it aloud though for fear of hurting a sunbae’s feelings, and moreover to save herself the trouble that could cause down the line if she happened to rub someone with that much more experience than her in the company the wrong way.  jei’s no stranger to making people angry with her behaviour, but at the very least, she’s always polite about it.  this time though, she’s just not interested in pissing off a senior  -  much less one that’s due to debut in just a few days.

in reality, jei didn’t know that there was even a group that was supposed to drop from trc anytime soon considering she didn’t keep up with entertainment news from the big five after the mgas  -  even before the mgas, honestly.  keeping up with that kind of information wasn’t really her cup of tea, but now that she’s part of the company it’s almost obligated that she know by now.  that, and it’s kind of hard to miss with the ads for k.arma hanging around the building everywhere she turns.  she’d be stupid not to recognize the face of chojin even if she hadn’t met her before.

either way, jei found herself surprised for just a moment that the soon to be idol even had time to talk with the new blood, but just as quickly as the surprise came, it left her with another carefully crafted neutral mask behind in its wake.  though jei has to admit, she’s not really sure why the other girl looks surprised herself  -  is it really that odd for people to call their seniors as they are in trc?

“ oh …” she trails off, tucking some of her hair back behind her ear.  it’s not what she expected, and even still jei isn’t sure that the other girl really has the time to be spending walking her around the company just to make sure she didn’t go into the wrong room or something.  not to mention while it may be a big building, jei thinks that she has the main and most important rooms down at the very least.  " you don’t really have to do that.  i know you must be busy with preparing.“  she pauses.  ” but thank you, though.  it’s nice that you wanted to.“
