SAEZURU’S CHAPTER 42 IS OUT
[Spoiler Alert]
It wasn’t a jobthat he fucked up; it was the boss.
Today, I present to you, my latest obsession:
Saezuru Tori Wa Habatakanai
• [ * spoilers ahead * ] •
It’s about Yashiro, someone with a twisted past and Doumeki, who comes his way, being all gentle to him, actually caring for him. Yashiro thinks that he’s a mess, he doesn’t deserve this pure affection that Doumeki has to offer. He’s just not the person that Doumeki ought to give these feelings to.
So he pushes Doumeki away, like that’s all it was. He said that he had forgotten about him. Yet, there was this lingering feeling. There was this part of Doumeki that stayed with him, after a few years of being apart.
That one intimate moment with Doumeki changed Yashiro. He did not want anyone else to touch him again, after Doumeki. Maybe he did not want to wash away the traces that Doumeki left. He did not want any other person’s mark on his body.
I just want more of this! Yes, it started off as a yaoi, but it progressed as a really interesting story. I want to know what happens next. Do they get to have a happy ending? I know they’d meet each other again (in Chapter 40), but what happens next? I need answers.
Kou Yoneda’s work has awakened something in me, and now I can’t help but wait for the next chapters.
The bad news: Yoneda Kou is NOT on the cover of the new ihr Hertz!!!
This usually means Saezuru will NOT be in this issue!!!
The good news: We get to do Saezuru Month 49 over again! Because it was just so much damn fun the first time!!
For those of you who are new to this and say, “but but but her name was slated to be in the July issue!?!?” This does happen on occasion, it used to happen so often that the fandom, even in Japan, waited to pre-order until the cover was released because some stores won’t let you cancel.
We should be getting a follow up from Yoneda Kou on what happened. Sometimes it’s just a missed deadline. This can lead to a double issue, and/or the cover of the next volume!
Hopefully we will know soon!
The third and probably last preview for the new drama CD was posted and they chose the scene I was hoping for: Yashiro and Doumeki’s first encounter after four years! The scene starts with Yashiro and Nanahara on their way to the bar of Kido’s brother, and stops with the scene on the bridge at the end of the chapter. Yashiro sounds so sad when he says Doumeki’s name, it breaks my heart a little.
You can also hear Kamiya and Nanahara bickering somewhere in the middle.
The video is probably blocked outside of Japan, so you need to use VPN in order to watch it.
The CD comes out next wednesday, on July 28th.

News regarding Saezuru Ch. 45
The cover for this month’s ihr HertZ magazine got revealed and unfortunately Yoneda-sensei’s name isn’t on it. So it seems like she’s skipping this issue. The reason wasn’t announced yet, but I’ll keep you updated as more news come out. I just hope Sensei isn’t sick or anything.
This means the release of ch. 45 is postponed till at least the end of July.
BL Awards 2021
The results of the BL Awards 2021 were announced this morning. Saezuru wasn’t nominated in any of the manga categories because there wasn’t a new volume last year. But the drama CD for volume 6 won first place and The Clouds Gather placed second in their respective categories. Plus Shingaki Tarusuke got voted as the Best BLCD Seiyuu again after his last win in 2017, although he only recorded a few drama CDs last year, so his performance in Saezuru must have been truly amazing. (And this is where I shamefully admit that I’m a chicken and still haven’t listened to the sixth CD, because I can’t torture myself like that without at least the next CD available, so I’ll patiently wait till July… or August. But of course I still voted for Saezuru and Shingaki-san. He also has a new radio show btw called Shingaki Therapy for everyone in need of a soothing voice before bedtime, so check that out if you want to fall asleep to Yashiro’s voice! It’s great, but probably old news for his fans.)
Anyway CONGRATS to Saezuru for another successful year, and next year lets make sure our favorite couple wins everything again!!

Saezuru Drama CD 7
It was just announced that the drama CD for Saezuru volume 7 will come out on July 28th this year, so we won’t have to wait for it as long as for the last one.
It will be a double CD as usual and cost 5500 yen.
The voice actors for the new characters and the extras will be announced another time.
