This is Shimi Choco Corn Milky Red Bean snack!
They’re Little star shaped puffs dipped in some sort of chocolate and dusted with red bean powder.
These have a much softer texture than a traditional corn puff which I think is due to the chocolate coating on the snack. It gives them less of a crunch and an overall more delicate bite. The chocolate itself is creamy and tastes kind of custard like which is super yummy!
The red bean flavor is lightly dusted on and very subtle thanks to the strong chocolate flavor. You get the subtle earthy notes without feeling like you’re eating spoonfuls of azuki beans. As someone who’s not huge into red bean paste, I loved this! It was just enough that I could enjoy the taste and enjoy I did o(^▽^)o
These are VERY sweet so I would probbably not make them a daily snack, but I could see myself eating them as a treat now and then!

Although I have frequented Japan over a dozen times, it has always been a dream of mine to visit Japan during sakura season. I know many of you also share the same dream. This year, I was able to cross it off my bucket list!
