Today is the release date of my serialized work [Yakimon Royale]! It’s an anthropomorphic comedy of porcelain. Imari, Kutani, Bizen, Mino, Hasami, Shigaraki, Kurosatsuma … Please buy!
I’m really enjoying all the reflected light opportunities to be found in the folds of drapery; it reminds me a lot of the way light gets reflected in the shadows of snowbanks (it is the same principle, after all). In this cloth snowbank I saw fit to situate a partially unwrapped satsuma, in an effort to paint it one last time before it began to grow mold. Lots of fun textures in this one!
I’ve been wanting to make a portrait of thus teapot for awhile, and today felt like the day! Lots of fun to study the various metallic surfaces, I might paint it again from a new angle under different lighting conditions!
I will be making these Strada-Challenge paintings avaliable for sale online soon, but if you are interested in aquirinf any in the meantime please feel free to send me a dm!

Here’s another Satsuma, this time accompanied by various macrolichens and western red ceader fronds I found on the ground in the forest today. I’m pretty happy with some of the brush work in this one!
