Werewolves….originally thought to be hairy and terrifying creatures have within the last few decades been admired in a whole new light. With Hollywood portraying these savages beasts frequently on both the small and silver screens, there appears to be a new criteria for these leading monsters: you need to look good with your clothes off. I decided to pay homage to some of the sexiest wolves out there.

Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganeillo)

Let’s face it this guy is one of the most perfectly sculpted male specimens ever to walk the earth. With his rippled abs, tight bum and tall stature he made us swoon on True Blood.

Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin)

Brooding, intense, sexy as hell…what’s not to like about this "mansicle. This alpha male werewolf captivated our attentions and warmed our lady parts in MTV’s drama Teen Wolf.

Isaac Lahey (Daniel Sharman)

Loyal, charming, and gorgeous this werewolf had us at hello when he stepped onto the television show Teen Wolf during Season 2. Melting our hearts and weakening our knees is what this were creature does best.

Jackson Whittemore (Colton Haynes)

This guy might have started out an jerk when appearing on Teen Wolf but that didn’t stop us from checking out his ass at the same time. This guy is cocky but wouldn’t you be if one of your best assets was making women’s panties drop.

Mason Lockwood (Taylor Kinney)

This werewolf’s lifespan may have been too short on The Vampire Diaries but I sure shed a crap load of tears when Damian Salvatore ripped his heart out of his burly strapping chest. At least he went on to play something else sexy…a fireman

Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino)

With all the hot blood suckers about in the Vampire Diaries, it’s no wonder Tyler had to arrive on the scene to prove that werewolves can be sexy too. The notches on this beast’s bed posts include humans, vampires, witches, and other werewolves. God bless him for not discriminating

Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan)

This guy is the best of both worlds werewolf and vampire. He is so amazing he gets his own spin off rom the Vampire Diaries called the Originals. Plus he has a striking accent and flaring bad boy temper. How could any girl resist.

Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman)

Okay this guy is another hybrid and unlike any other werewolf, but he easily seduced Kate Beckinsale along with the entire female population in the Underworld movie franchise. They have one of the greatest versions of a Romeo and Juliet partnership that has me all peanut butter and jealous.

Caleb Varek (Jason Behr)

A sexy motorcycle driving gun totting werewolf in the movie Skin Walkers, Jason Behr sure makes our hearts go haywire. One of the only beasts on this list who is truly bad to the bone and without mercy. I mean he is willing to murder his own son for goodness sakes. Yet we can’t stop worshipping.

Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner)

I may be rocking the cradle on this one but he has a solid six pack. That can’t be disputed. Neither can the bar that he has set for all werewolves in Hollywood to come.

Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett)

In the eerily dark show Penny Dreadful we are introduced to the handsome and heroic weapon wielding animal Ethan. With a sick prostitute and a demon possessed harlot as his romantic interests we may question his taste in woman however, with that deep commanding voice and dominating presence all is forgiven.

I think one thing can be summed up with this post….

Day 19

Reflections on Anamorph(2007)

  • This is the movie’s synopsis is “A psychological thriller based on the concept of anamorphosis, a painting technique that manipulates the laws of perspective to create two competing images on a single canvas.” With this plus the all-star cast of Willem Dafoe, Scott Speedman, Clea DuVall, Peter Stormare and many other loveable character actors - how could you go wrong?! Allow me to list the ways:
  • The concept of anamorphic painting is not introduced until the 1 hour and 19 minute mark.
  • The opening credits list Mick Foley (AKA Mankind) and Debbie Harry (AKA Blondie) in the cast, yet they are both have less than 10 seconds of screen time - combined! YOU DON’T LIST CAMEOS IN THE OPENING CREDITS!!
  • Maybe the director was trying to distract the viewer from how much the opening credits looked like a bad teen art project?
  • Sadly this has no relation to the Animorphsseries.
  • Willem Dafoe plays a straight forward alcoholic detective with OCD who is also an expert murder / art professor too? He looks especially dorky in this - they’ve maybe dyed his hair? He looks like an anamorphic painting of a toad ape.
  • Lots of gross shots of body parts arranged in elaborate tableaus as art. Why are so many movie serial killers just frustrated installation artists??
  • All the detectives in this dress terribly in ill-fitting suits. Scott Speedman looks BAD and this is only 5 years after Felicityended.
  • The line “uncle Eddie” is used WAY too many times.
  • Bizarre visual effects are used to denote scenes taking place 4 years in the past (see first photo above).
  • The hardened-detective-working-a-serial-killer-case-with-an-annoying-younger-partner story is so clichéd that I kept expecting a twist - something, anything - even a stereotypical twist! Maybe Scott Speedman was a figment of Willem’s imagination, or maybe they were in love? Maybe Willem was investigating… himself?! Alas, it’s just unimaginatively written and feels like it was intercut with a first year university art history lecture.
  • If this review is too negative I’ll end on a positive note: There are a lot of scenes where characters notice smells. So I guess there was good smell acting.
