I got to attend the Haikyu Event: Karasuno vs Shiratorizawa on April 30. I decided to make this into a day trip so I went to Tokyo by bus and took the train to Maihama. The event was held in Maihama Amphitheater and I didn’t buy any goods this time.

Seiyuu Cast who Attended:

Karasuno:Murase Ayumu (Hinata), Ishikawa Kaito (Kageyama), Uchiyama Koki (Tsukishima), Saito Soma (Yamaguchi)

Shiratorizawa:Takeuchi Ryota (Ushijima), Kimura Subaru (Tendo), Toyonaga Toshiyuki (Shirabu), Tsuchiya Shinba (Goshiki) 

Yes… I had to take a pic of my biases together. XD

The interesting thing about this event was that when you apply for tickets, you can apply for a Karasuno seat or a Shiratorizawa seat. From the audience’s point of view, half of the left side is all Karasuno seats and the right half is all Shiratorizawa seats. I had a Shiratorizawa seat.

The event started with a picture of chibi Shiratorizawa team talking followed by Karasuno. They basically say that we should cheer them on. It was nice to see the left side with a lot of orange penlights and the right side with a lot of purple penlights.

Then Burnout Syndrome came out and sang the third season opening: “Hikari Are.” Then they sang Fly High. I really love that song!! They were so cool!!!

After that, all of the seiyuu came out one by one in their respective team’s shirts (Karasuno wore bright orange and Shiratorizawa wore purple) that were sold at the venue. Karasuno seiyuu came out first. They were fairly normal. I remember Ishikai jumped when he came out. When Shiratorizawa came out, it was like bam! LOL Tosshi came out without glasses and did a pose with both his hands above his head, arms folded against one another (I believe this is Shirabu’s pose on the visual). He was wearing mustard yellow pants. When Subaru was coming out, he looked like he was about to come out but went past the entrance backstage. LOL

The order from left to right was Soma, Ucchi, Ishikai, Ayumu, Takeuchi, Subaru, Shinba and Tosshi.

Each of the seiyuu gave an introduction.

• For Soma’s introduction, he went “Tsukki!!!” Of course… he did that. xD Then he did a call and response. (Call and response is very common in self introductions). He said, “When I say ‘Gomen ne (Sorry)!!’ please say, “Tsukki!” And we did it. xDDD
• Ishikai stumbled over his introduction LOOOL. xD
• Karasuno sorta “bullied” Shiratorizawa by mentioning that they won a lot (referring to the Karasuno vs Shiratorizawa match). All of the Shiratorizawa seiyuu started throwing a tantrum by stomping their feet and looking frustrated. Hahaha. XD
• Subaru got shorts that came down to his knee and matched his T-shirt. Someone commented that he looked like a crayon. Subaru also did a call and response. I believe it’s his catchphrase. He said, “When I say this, say that!” He didn’t even say the lines because we should know it and we said something with “kokoro.”
• For Shinba’s self intro, it’s apparently his first time ever attending an official seiyuu event! He’s so cute! He did a call and response and went, “Hajimemashite! (Nice to meet you!)” And we said it back. Someone commented that Shinba can only say that once because it’s his first event ever. XD (And saying “Nice to meet you” would be strange.) Shinba wore the complete Shiratorizawa jersey (jacket and pants) and said that he wears it to his recordings too. <333 How cute is that? XD
• For Tosshi’s self intro, he said, “I am Shirabu Kenjiro.” LOOOL. XD Eventually he suddenly said, “When Ushijima (Takeuchi) says, “Right!” we turn right and when he says, “Left!” we turn left. LOL So Takeuchi started saying, “Right, left, front, and “wave” and the other Shiratorizawa members did it as if they were in the army with their backs straight and hands to their sides. XD This was when I thought, man… Shiratorizawa seiyuu are so crazy but so interesting and fun! They get along so well!

Then I think… it was this part but both teams chose a “leader.” Karasuno chose Ayumu and Shiratorizawa chose Takeuchi. They both went to the front and greeted us and put their hands in the air while saying their names and so on. Shiratorizawa had their hands over their hearts while this was happening.

Then they had us do the cheer that the fans do in the bleachers in the anime. Ishikai led the Karasuno side of the audience. Fans had to say, “Go go Karasuno, Push push Karasuno!” That side did a practice round and because Ishikai is a strict teacher, he went,” That was only 20 points,” and had them do it again XD Subaru led the Shiratorizawa side. (I couldn’t remember how the chant went for Shiratorizawa but eventually got the hang of it). Shiratorizawa fans go, “Shiii, ratorizawa!” And clap three times, then once, and then twice. XD It was really fun doing the chant.

After that, they left the stage for the staff members to set up the stage.

For the Haikyuu!! event, there were five sets, as if they were playing a volleyball match in the finals (think Karasuno vs Shiratorizawa match). The MC said that there will be a chance to make a comeback in the end, Someone went, “Is it really okay to say that already?” And another commented, “So even if we are in the lead, the opponent in the fifth set can suddenly make a comeback?” Basically implying that all their hard work from the first to the fourth seat won’t even make a difference. XD This is really common though. xD The winning team wins high-quality and expensive meat tickets (not exactly coupons…but you get what I mean)!

First Set: Best Scene

Each character had a best scene. The results were based on the fans votes for the best scene for each character. This was actually an online survey that fan could vote on. Then the seiyuu who voiced that character talks about it. 1^st place gets 3 points for their team and the top 2 to 5 get 1 point for their team.

The MC announced the top five, from number five to number 1.

• 5. Ushijima scene where he goes, “Like Tendo always says, “Nottekita.”
• 4. Hinata scene where it looks like he grew a pair of wings.
• 3. Shirabu scene where he’s focused on giving his all for Ushijima.
• 2. Kageyama scene where he failed to get the ball and Tendo tried to provoke him but it didn’t work.
  
• 1. The obvious number 1 was, of course, the Tsukki scene where he yells. During this scene, Soma screamed, “Tsukki!!!!” It was super adorable. XD

The MC asked the seiyuu/characters that weren’t in the top five about their thoughts. Shinba was so cute when he said, “Oh, I was shocked that I wasn’t up there…” He said it all genuinely and like a kicked puppy, all disappointed. Asldk XD Ishikai said Tendo was basically in every best scene shown and had the most lines in there too! At one point, he imitated Tendo’s moves. Subaru also talked about how he was a test recording or something (they kept saying test.. not sure what that means) and he wasn’t sure how he was supposed to sing his signature little song with heart breaking in the lyrics. He had read the manga and everything but he wasn’t given any direction as to how to do it. Apparently the director just left the song up to him. He could do it however he wanted. And this was how it ended up. Subaru wondered if how he did the song fit the character and we clapped (meaning it really did!).

At this point, Karasuno was in the lead, 5-2.

Second Set: Ball Control

Each team chooses one member to represent them. That person has to hold 4 volleyballs (the balls are HUGE) first and the other members add a ball and hold all of them for five seconds (the au before another ball is added. If the person drops the ball, then it’s over. The person gets the number of points equal to the number of balls he manages to hold.

• Karasuno went up first and Ishikai got chosen. Ishikai only got to a total of 6 or 7 before a ball slipped from his arms. Ayumu apologized to him saying it was his fault. When he placed an additional ball, that was when Ishikai dropped the balls.
• Shiratorizawa team took off their jackets to prove that they were serious about winning. Takeuchi was chosen for Shiratorizawa and he suddenly laid down!!! Karasuno went, “Wait, is that even allowed??” And the MC said it was okay as long as the balls don’t touch the ground. Takeuchi managed to get to a total of 12 balls!!! It was really amusing seeing the balls on his body.

Someone suggested that Ishikai do it again except laying down this time and the MC said that was fine but he would get no points for doing it. Ishikai reluctantly did it and held 15!! Ishikai said that he couldn’t even keep track of how many balls were being placed on him and Takeuchi said that once they put a ball on your face, then all is lost (like you can’t think anymore). XD

Third Set: Quiz

They show a scene and then ask a question relating to the scene. Karasuno and Shiratorizawa has to write down the answer on the sketchbook provided. Both teams were given one sketchbook so each team had to work together to come up with an answer. Let me tell you, Shiratorizawa team was overall very interesting to watch. XDD

1. What is the kanji for Reon?

• This question took a lot of time for both teams to answer. xD Shiratorizawa tried to cheat by asking the audience and looking over at Karasuno’s table… Karasuno tried to do the same thing too. XD At one point, Tosshi tried peeking and a few fans pointed him out. Then Tosshi said, “ You’re not supposed to rat me out! Because I’m supposed to be plain and not noticeable (reference to Shirabu’s character where he doesn’t stand out).
• Both teams ended up getting the answer right.
  

2. What did Kiyoko say after Suga exclaimed, “Wait until we marry!” when she held Suga’s hands to calm him down.  

• Both teams tried peeking again. XDDD
• When they both revealed their answers, they were both VERY similar except Shiratorizawa team added in “because.” Ishikai said he has confidence because he loves Kiyoko and that’s why he remembers what she said. XD
• Answer: “No thank you. I don’t plan on getting married with you.” Although both of their answers weren’t written exactly as said, a point was given to Karasuno for giving the closest answer. XD

3. What did Semi (Terashii) say after Tendo sing-songed weirdly?

• Karasuno wrote, “Crow field.” I kid you not; Crow field was written in English props to Ayumu. XD Ayumu explained the answer as “Karasuno.”
• Subaru saved the day. He wrote, “Block,” which was the correct answer. XD

4. What did Yamaguchi say to Tsukki which got him mad?

• Answer: “Don’t lose to Hinata!”
• Both teams got it right. I was really surprised because Shiratorizawa wrote down the answer pretty fast.

5. What is Reon and Semi eating in the cafeteria scene?

• The food that they were eating was covered with a white fuzzy spots. But a slight hint was given because there was a salad on Semi’s plate and a huge bowl or rice on Reon’s plate. It was actually a difficult question. The MC gave them a hint, saying that the food on their plates were both different and Reon was eating something high in calories.
• Ishikai was drawing the answer to the question. His fellow members went, “What’s that!?” and laughing uncontrollably. At one point, Ishikai stomped off the stage out of anger and then came back after the Karasuno members told him to come back. Ishikai put the blame on Soma. XD At another point, Ucchi tried peeking at Shiratorizawa’s answer and Subaru blocked his view. XD And when Ucchi went back and looked at Ishikai’s drawing, he went, “Wait, what happened!? What’s this?” Hahaha. XDDD
• Ishikai finally showed his drawing. The drawing of their guess for Semi was a bit weird. Hahaha but it was a drawing of curry and rice. XDD They guessed that Reon was eating fried fish or something. Then Ayumu showed us Ishikai’s first original drawing and said that he improved greatly. When we looked at the first drawing, we were like, “Oh my god… what’s that??” And Ishikai got really embarrassed and sat under the super small table they were using, all huddled up with his knees up against his chest and looking sad. XDDD Dawww
• Shiratorizawa answered with “Semi” (actually I’m not sure why that was the answer) and oil (because the MC said it was something high in calories). XDDD
• Answer: Curry and karaage (chicken)

1 point went to Karasuno.

For one of the questions, someone on the Shiratorizawa team started to do the fan chant and had us (Shiratorizawa side) join in. Then there was a Shiratorizawa fans vs Karasuno fans chant face-off. XDDD

For one of the questions (don’t remember which one), Subaru tried acting confident that he knew the answer. The other seiyuu noticed that he was sweating a LOT and Soma kindly went to grab a towel, and gently wiped the sweat off Subaru’s face. And Subaru said, “KYUN <333333” (sfx for heart skipping a beat) A member of Karasuno went, “What’s with this lovey dovey atmosphere!?” LOOOL X

I believe they did a time-out after the third set so the seiyuu went off the stage while the MC gave us announcements. When the seiyuu came back, Shiratorizawa was acting all serious, cool and mature. XDDDD LOOOL And the Karasuno team said something like, “Wait, what happened? Isn’t that a totally different attitude than before??”

Fourth Set: Gesture Game (Charades)

Each team chooses a representative. That person has to do gestures and make his teammates guess the word. The person has to do as many in one minute and only can say “pass” twice.

• Ayumu was chosen for the Karasuno team. When Ishikai said it can only be Ayumu, he started imitated how Ayumu danced and moved his body, showing that he was the best one for doing the gestures.
• I don’t remember all that he did but he did radio calisthenics (exercises), rolling thunder (Noya’s move!!), serve, monkey (a few members said “baka” (idiot) at first LOL) and the last one was “Oikawa Toru.” LOOOL Many fangirls screamed when they saw the name. Ayumu tried to do Oikawa’s signature serve and failed but none of his teammates could guess the answer and then time was up. When the answer was revealed, Ishikai… well more like “Kageyama” got “angry” and went something along of the lines of, “That’s supposed to be Oikawa!?” Then they had Ayumu repeatedly do “Oikawa.” Hahaha he tried to do the serve but it was just really cute to me. XDDD The Karasuno members told Ayumu, “Good job.” I also remember Soma was really good at guessing the answers! I was really surprised!
• For Shiratorizawa, Shinba was chosen! He showed us a wonderful one-handed cartwheel! He was asked to do it again and he did it! He was so amazing!!! XD He did, brushing your teeth, receive, passed on Reon, tried to do “guess attack,” and passed on that one too. For the last one before time was up, he did “Synchro Attack!” Shiratorizawa team knew what he was doing but couldn’t remember the word for the special move. XDD

At this point, Shiratorizawa was in the lead, 24-22. It was a really close match!

Last Set: Collaboration with an Enormous Ball (I don’t even know how to translate this one to sound natural. LOL)

The audience has a chance to participate in this set! It’s up to the audience and the winner gets 50 points! XD The staff brought out two HUGE orange balloons and two HUGE pink balloons. XD Shiratorizawa commented, “Wait, is this supposed to be purple!?” when they were handed the pink balloons XDD LOOOL Anyway, the teams will pass the balloons to the audience and the audience has to move the balloons all the way to the back and then back to the front. Just imagine a rectangular U shape. The winner is determined when ONE of the balloons goes back on the stage.

You know how half of the venue was supposed to be Karasuno fans and the other half was supposed to be Shiratorizawa fans? Well actually part of the section of the back was full of Karasuno fans. XDDD Subaru pointed it out and jokingly said, “Since they’re rooting for Karasuno, they might try to pop the balloon!” Then Ishikai kindly said to that section, “Please help them,” and was all nice about it. He had this really nice pleading voice. XDDD Those fans were very kind and even changed their penlights from orange to purple!

• It was overall pretty exciting although I didn’t have a chance to touch the balloon. xD And Shiratorizawa won! Actually both of the balloons got back to the stage while the orange balloons didn’t even go halfway up. It stayed around the front. XD

So that meant the ultimate winner was Shiratorizawa!!! :3 Shiratorizawa team had us do the Shiratorizawa fan chant and even the Karasuno side joined! LOL

For the awarding ceremony, they chose the MVP of the day! And Ishikai was chosen!! A member of Burnout Syndrome handed him a trophy. (Ishikai balancing the volleyballs part was seriously hilarious XD) Another member gave the trophy to Takeuchi, representative of Shiratorizawa team and Shinba accepted the high-end meat prize! XD

Then all the seiyuu gave their closing comments.

• Subaru started “crying” and saying that he was proud of Shinba. XDDD
• Takeuchi had green/blue hair and one of them said that he should explain to the audience why it’s that color. So Takeuchi explained that before, he dyed it pink and he actually wanted to dye it to purple for the event, so he went for blue hair dye, thinking that if you mix blue and pink together, you would get purple… but actually his hair just turned blue! LOOOL. XD
• Ishikai and Ayumu said that it was fun doing this kind of event and it was their first time doing something like this: one team vs another team. XD

Ayumu requested us to yell out, “Otsukaresama (Good work!!!) and we did so and streamers shot out.

As they were leaving the stage, both teams high-fived each other as they passed by one another and said goodbye.

Overall, this was a wonderful 2.5 hour event!!! I managed to catch the last Shinkansen that would take me back and get to the last train going to my area although I was exhausted over work the next day! XD

It was my first time seeing Ucchi, Soma, Ishikai, Subaru, Takeuchi, and Shinba… now that I think about it, that’s like most of the cast! LOOOL

• Ucchi seemed pretty laid-back and chill about everything but that doesn’t mean he’s super quiet either. XD
• Soma was just adorableeee going “Tsukki! Tsukki!” all the time. LOOOL XD And he blew me away with guessing during the gestures game.
• I had this image of Subaru being all cool and everything… appearance-wise but he’s really the mood-maker!! He was really funny and livened up the atmosphere. He’s a bit of a goofball. XD
• I feel that Ishikai was the one that people liked to tease… what with the balancing balls and drawing incidents. XDDD
• Takeuchi was very cool and seemed respected by everyone but I think he knows how to have a good time as well. XD
• Shinba was just cuuuuute. He’s like a cinnamon roll and his voice is really nice too. XD
• Ayumu never fails to make me think he’s so freaking adorableeee. His gestures were freaking cute especially when he was doing “Oikawa Toru” XD
• Tosshi… he said that he was Shirabu Kenjiro again. XD And I can’t help but notice that’s considerably shorter than the others. XDDD But that’s what makes him cute. And he’s not the type to be teased either. XD I felt like he was like a senpai towards the others.. well he is! XD And he was part of what made Shiratorizawa team fun. XDDD

It was just so interesting seeing Shiratorizawa team interactions and Karasuno team interactions. It’s like the Shiratorizawa team is more childish although Karasuno team has younger members. LOLOLOL XD Karasuno was pretty much calm but I can tell they have a good relationship with each other. XD

It was super fun especially doing the actual fan chants!! XD I hope that there will be another event like this in the future!

I went to the Bungou Stray Dogs event held on February 19th in Pacifico Yokohama!

Actually, I hadn’t planned on going but later on, I felt the need to go if possible. XD I really like the series itself! It’s very interesting! I was also heading to Pacifico Yokohama to attend a conference and career fair for the following days so I thought it would be perfect if I could go! It was seriously a last-minute impulse! XD I managed to find someone on Twitter so I was able to go!

I waited for over 3 hours in the cold (It was February and the venue is literally next to the sea so the wind was no joke. I was FREEZING. I got there around 8:30 or 8:45… This is when I realized I HAVE to take the first train and stuff if I want to get the goods I want…) before giving up on the goods. The T-shirt I wanted ended up being sold out while I was waiting anyway and I wouldn’t have made it in time for the afternoon session if I continued to wait.

Plus I had to meet up with the person who was willing to sell me the ticket and I didn’t want to keep her waiting! I wasn’t planning on getting much anyway so it was fine. But never again… XD Plus it’s not fun when you’re waiting alone.

Right, I intended to write a BRIEF fan-report though I ended up ranting. Haha.

The cast who appeared in the event:

It started off with four of the characters in chibi form talking (Dazai, Chuya, Atsushi, and Akutagawa).

A MC led the session. Then the cast was introduced one by one, more like they each gave a self-introduction. Everyone else looked good overall!

Uemura started off (it was my first time seeing him) and he looked really cute! I guess he’s my image of a cinnamon roll… or a friendly person? He was wearing an outfit like what Atsushi would wear: white collared shirt, fancy black vest and those COOL black gloves. He looked really good! He was so cute and fluffy and nervous because he messed up. He said something like, “Please go home and enjoy the event,” 楽しんでかえってください instead of “Please enjoy the event.” 楽しんできてください(Trying to explain Japanese grammar is difficult).

Next, Mamo went up but he copied Uemura and teased him. This was my first time seeing Mamo and I thought he looked really cute especially with that smile.

Hosoya was told, “Ganbare!! (Do your best!) by the audience and the cast. XD Then Hosoya goes, “I’m doing my best!” Hahaha. He always seems to fumble with his words and got teased.

Tosshi wore mostly beige while everyone else wore darker colors.

I didn’t approve of Kensho’s hair but I’m assuming it was inspired by Akutagawa. And he wore a long black cape… like Akutagawa. xD He was pretty energetic (I was worried because the Kensho x Hanazawa news came out the day before).

I remember Mamo and Kishow had good chemistry. XD

The staff brought in desks and the cast was told to sit down. Except Mamo sat… more like laid down on his side with his elbow bent and posed sexily. XDDDD Then Kishow and Kensho proceeded to do a sexy pose as well. They both had their backs to the audience and stuck out their butts with a hand on their hips and turned their heads. XD

Once they sat down, they showed main/favorite scenes chosen by the manga artist and/or directors? The seiyuu commented while it was shown.

First was the Detective Agency scene. It was the scene where Rampo and the others were on standby and Chuya was destroying the cameras one by one.

Next was Port Mafia. It was the Hatano and lemon bombs scene. XDDD The cast commented, “No one from that scene is here!” Kishow and Kensho were asked to make comments. Kensho saw the recording and said that Hatano got fired up doing those lines.

Next was the Guild. The scene was the first appearance of John and Lovecraft. You see the grape vine coming from John’s neck.

Then there was the Tanizaki doing anything for Naomi scene!!! My favorite scene overall!!! It was when Tanizaki and Doppo were working together. They both end up trapped with John’s vines and were held up in the air. Then Joe noticed a truck coming… and if you remember, Tanizaki said he would do anything for Naomi and that was when John realized that the truck driver couldn’t see them because of Tanizaki’s ability!!! AAHHHH love that scene. If you haven’t noticed, my favorite character is Tanizaki. xD Hosoya and Tosshi were asked to comment about the scene. Hosoya tried to comment but failed overall. He did mention that he liked working with Tosshi.

Another scene that was shown was the Chuya and Dazai scene. xD I thought it was a pretty cool scene!! Kishow said Dazai took all the good parts because he defeated Lovecraft. Though Mamo said that thanks to Chuya, he destroyed Lovecraft completely.

Mamo and the others kept doing Lovecraft’s impersonation, like the way he talks. They kept on talking like that. XD

Another scene shown was of course, the Atsushi working together with Akutagawa scene.

In between, there were live performances in between by GRANRODEO, Screen Mode, and Luck Life too! They were all very cool! And they showed scenes of Oda… even the sad ones.

There were also special video messages from Fukujun, Miki, and Suwabe!

Fukujun always seems to enjoy playing his sneaky characters. XD

Suwabe told us something that wasn’t mentioned but told us the director purposely added in the scene where you see the kids crying for help inside that truck and the next thing you see is it exploding… it was to add more impact… I think Suwabe was also asked if his voice was okay.

Game time! They had to take an “exam.”

They brought in desks and had to answer questions about the anime. They had the write down the answer on the sketchbook they were given. They can also get points for interesting answers. Mamo interpreted this as, “You get points for writing interesting answers” instead of the correct answer. The MC told him that wasn’t the goal but he ignored him. Mamo and Kishow started to draw before the MC asked the first question. They actually draw the MC. XD

First question: They showed a picture of John, “What is he holding in his hand?” It got blurred out.

Kamiya answered with pudding. Tosshi answered with Naomi. Uemura wrote, grapes. Of course Kawanashi (John’s seiyuu) got it right. It was actually a potato. XD

Another question: “How many times does Akutagawa say “Yatsugare” (a really old way of saying, I) from episodes 17-23? XDDD He actually does say it a lot… Of course crazy answers were written… I think the most popular answer was around 60… For the answer, they actually showed all the scenes where he said, “Yatsugare.” XDDDD And Kamiya… freaking Kamiya got it right!!! The answer was 17 times! I was so surprised! He’s amazing. XD We clapped for the staff’s efforts of collecting all of those scenes. XD

For the third question, “What is Kyoka holding?” It was when they were having a party and were saying, “Cheers!” and you see a scene of them with many hands and drinks.

Someone… Hosoya maybe.. he said blood? I dunno… and Tosshi answered, “the liquid form of Naomi.” XDDD Apparently it was not a drink but a fruit. Actually it was a tomato and Kamiya got the answer eventually.

For the last question, “What is Elizabeth drawing?” Uemura answered with a drawing of a werecat. It was a very… err… artistic drawing. XD The hint given was it was already shown as an answer earlier. Hosoya realized what the answer was and tried use the drawing of his potato (it was one of the answers earlier but not the right one) but MC said he had to draw a new one and he did so furiously but Kamiya beat him to it. Answer was lemon.

Tosshi kept on saying Naomi as the answer. Kamiya kept on saying pudding.

Kamiya won the game with 75 percent correct.

Hosoya was really funny because he kept spacing out. The MC commented that Hosoya didn’t listen. At one point, he tried answering a question but it was for the previous question.

At one point, Kishow told Mamo to smile and he cutely smiled! He said that he bullies Hosoya all the time.

Lastly, everyone said a closing comment. Tosshi said he was emphasizing how much he loved Naomi. XD

There was also a special announcement! There is gonna be a movie for Bungou Stray Dogs! They showed a visual for it and you see the silhouette of Dazai and Chuya!!!! OMGGGGG ALSKJDKL

It ended with the last four chibis that didn’t appear in the beginning. Doppo kept on saying stuff and someone interpreted and said, “He means don’t go home too late and to be safe.”

The only thing I was sad about was that in order to take pictures of these special displays of Bungo Stray Dogs, you had to go through the goods line. I didn’t want to wait again… but all was not lost with the goods because I actually got my hands on the pamphlet inside the venue! They were selling only pamphlets inside the venue after the event so I got it! 

I might post pictures of the pamphlet later. :3

Overall, I was really glad that I got the chance to go! The cast was really awesome!

Again, I’m super sorry for the delay of this fanreport! I apologize if I mix up details from the afternoon session and night session together!  My memory is a bit fuzzy already but I will do my best! Remember, my Japanese isn’t the best and this isn’t beta-ed as usual! Sorta picture heavy.

So I went to both the afternoon and night session! I went to the afternoon session with Emi ( @emii-suterii ). She wrote a fanreport on the afternoon session so you can read it HERE. And since she did one on the afternoon session, I will just do a fanreport on the night session! They’re both pretty much different! :3

I was really happy to be able to go to both sessions!  Actually, I didn’t win tickets for the first application period. But before applying, I asked Emi if she wanted to go together. I was going to apply for two tickets anyways because I didn’t want to go alone. >__< She said yes! I figured it would be better if we both applied for two tickets, just in case. Good thing that happened because I didn’t win the tickets but Emi did! And thank god for Emi’s luck because we got really AWESOME seats for the afternoon session. Block D and row 4!!! I didn’t even need to look at the screen at all. And they were so close!!! >/////////////<

Anyway, I decided I should apply for the night session for the second application period. I was originally planning to go to only one session but I had gotten two serial numbers, one from the first DVD and one from the second DVD. I thought, why not? This would be my first time going to both the afternoon and night session of an anime seiyuu event (not counting lives). Again, I applied for two tickets but for the night session. Truthfully, I didn’t think that I would win tickets but I actually did!

I planned to just post on twitter and ask if anyone wanted to come with me since Emi wouldn’t be able to make it. Luckily, Emi’s friend, Jessa, wanted to go so we went together! :3

On the day of, Emi, Jessa, and I planned to meet at Tokyo Station at the platform heading to Maihama Station around 8:15. So we got on and headed there. Even though I went to Maihama Amphitheater for Kiramune’s Reading Live, it was such a long time ago so I didn’t remember the way. Luckily, Emi did so we just followed her.

Surprisingly, for the goods this time, only people who had the Prince of Stride event ticket could buy the goods. I’ve never gone to an event that had done that… so it was interesting. It was kind of nice, too. When we got there, the line didn’t seem bad at all so we just sat down. The weather was surprisingly cool as well. The venue is near the sea so it was cooler. Plus, it was a bit cloudy and really windy.

We got to know each other a bit more while waiting! The staff passed out the goods form to make the transactions smoother. You have to write down how many you wanted of each item. They also lent us these pencils. There were also extra goods that weren’t listed on the official website!

I felt a bit tempted to buy more stuff but I was able to control myself. I’m sorry, wallet… you’ve been through a lot… what with Starmyu and KiraFes. XD

I decided to just get the pamphlet. That’s it. XD I’m a pamphlet collector. xP It’s the first picture of this post.

The staff eventually announced that they would start selling goods at 10:30 instead of 11:00 so yay! I think it took around an hour to get the goods because they only let in around 20 people at a time. After that, Jessa left to go to a dj event. Emi and I decided to go to Tully’s and eat something before the event started.

After we ate, we decided to look at the pamphlet (I’ll take pictures of it soon). XD AHHHHHH RYOHEI AND NOBU. <333 Ryohei looks really good. We fangirled and talked for a bit before heading back to the venue.

We started lining up and I was surprised to see that not many fans had lined up yet. Although the venue is small, it was still a surprise.

Though I found out that wasn’t the main reason… Jessa had messaged Emi about how the trains hadn’t been running for a while… I realized that many fans probably went somewhere else and couldn’t come back to the venue because the trains weren’t running. Even Suwabe tweeted about his concern about the trains not running… Luckily, the staff pushed back the time to 14:30. It was supposed to start at 14:00 but the staff was considerate to change the time due to the train problem.

So Emi and I headed in.

We found the present boxes! They’re adorable!

It was nice that it wasn’t that crowded yet and we took pictures of the flower bouquets and stands!

There were also tapestries, too!

Next is the Galaxy Standard portraits!! And they were signed by the seiyuu as well!! <3

We decided to head to our seats!

It was easy to find our seats and I was freaking out over the fact we were SOOOO CLOSE. XD And I had a REALLY AWESOME time with Emi during the afternoon session. Thank you so much, Emi!!! <333

It lasted for around two hours. After it ended, we waited for Jessa. We managed to meet up and went back to the venue. Unfortunately, Jessa and I had to say good-bye to Emi. ;w;

I thought that they might push back the time for the night session but they didn’t. When we got in, there were a lot more people and it was a bit more orderly as well. We got in line to take pictures of the Galaxy Standard members. Well, I already took pictures of them but I figured I could take better ones plus there was still time before the event started.

So our seats were pretty much in the back. XD K Block, Row 21 but still decent since it was a small venue. I did have to look at the screen more though. I was basically in the same area as the afternoon session but just farther back.

And so the event started at 18:30!

First, you heard OnoYuu’s voice. He was on the phone with his nii-chan (brother). And then Egu and Tosshi joined in. (Yay Galaxy Standard!). I don’t remember what happened now…  (In the afternoon session, Ryohei, Hanazawa, and Nobu started it off and it was super adorableeee. They were like, “What? It already started?” kind of thing).

And then in the center of the stage… how do I describe it…? The center of the stage has a circle and so all the seiyuu appeared on stage slowly from below with a pose. XDDD

From the left, the order was Tosshi, Egu, Suwabe, Hanazawa, Ryohei, Nobu, Shimono, Okiayu, OnoYuu, and Matsuoka. Everyone was wearing the jerseys pertaining to their character.

Ryohei and Nobu led the fanmeeting and first off, they did introductions! They each introduced each other as “Prince of” something. XD

• Ryohei started it off and then Nobu. I don’t quite remember what they said… XD
• ThenHanazawa! A lot of us were yelling out that she was really cute! And she’s seriously so adorable and then she looked like she couldn’t take it anymore and screamed, “HAPPINESS!!!” She said she was the princess of eating bread (?). Haha she’s really cute.
• Next up was Shimono! FREAKING ADORABLE. He was wearing glasses (Ayumu heehee)! He said he would also represent Hozumi in spirit! And he had that black kitty with a yellow scarf hanging from his pants and he showed us his back, which had this big can badge of Hozumi. DAWWWW <3333 I only remember in the afternoon session, he said he was prince of kimchi. XD I didn’t catch what he said during the night session. But he’s such a cutie. I was surprised he didn’t say he was prince of karaage. XD
• ThenSuwabe was next! Unfortunately, I don’t remember what he said. >__<
• After that was Okiayu who said, “Please say kyaa!!!” and pointed the microphone to the audience. Then we went kyaa!! Hahaha. Then he said he was the prince of full of karaage. (reference to the afternoon session where he ate a whole plate of karaage). XD
• ThenEgu went he was the prince of debt (same as the afternoon session). Ryohei pointed out that that means that he must owe a lot of people money. XDDD Typical Egu…
• Followed by OnoYuu who said, “Konbanwa!” and pointed the mic to the audience. We said it back! He said he was the prince of yo-yo. He’s really good at doing tricks with his yo-yo. xP
• And then Tosshi… man HE’S FREAKING ADORABLE TOO. XD He ran around the stage first and then said, he was the prince of… and stumbled and said prince again. And the other seiyuu were like, “Prince of prince!?” Then he said he was the prince of megane (glasses). XD
• Finally,Matsuoka. He was wearing a pink Ichijokan jersey to represent Hachiya Tetsu. (In the afternoon session, he wore a green Mihashi jersey to represent Kamoda Kei). He voices two characters in Prince of Stride so… XD I think he mentioned how he was the prince of doing his best (because he voiced both of his characters in the drama script reading for the afternoon session. And both of his characters were on the same team so you can imagine how he had to do a conversation with essentially himself XD It was pretty amusing and amazing).

I felt like the cast was really pumped up for the night session and I think the cast mentioned that as well. XD

Ryohei told us to say, 3, 2, 1 GO (in English) to start off the event!

So most of the members left the stage except for Matsuoka and OnoYuu. So first off was a mini-drama.

• So Hachiya kept going on how he will buy goods for Himemiya and he would buy Himemiya goods. He went on and said he wanted the clearfile, bromides, etc.. He basically worships Himemiya. XD Asuma and Hachiya talked about the fan meeting goods. And Asuma went something along the lines of, “Wait, but there aren’t any Hime goods.” And Hachiya was like, “Yes there is! The clearfile,” and the screen suddenly did a zoom-in on the Himemiya clearfile. I think Hachiya wanted to buy more than one…
  
• Then Asuma promoted the Prince of Stride DVDs. I remember Hachiya saying he has all the Prince of Stride DVDs as well and Asuma was impressed with that. XD I think Hachiya said he could watch Hime as much as he wanted. God… he’s such a Hime fanboy. XD
  
• And then Asuma said he had an announcement. He kept us in suspense by saying, “Nanto (I can’t really translate this but it’s something along the lines of “It seems that…”) and then pausing. He did it a few times (during the afternoon session, Egu dragged it on longer and it was seriously adorable) and announced that this event will be on DVD!  AAHHHHHHH a;sjdkflawe
  

Next up was an original drama script reading corner called “Exhibition Match”. So this exhibition match is set in Smile Land (aka Disneyland. I kept thinking…. So that’s why the venue is in Maihama Amphitheater. We’re literally next to Disneyland. It’s perfect!).

• So first, you see Tosshi, Shimono, Egu, and Nobu. On the screen, there was a picture of a blimp in the sky with balloons and bubbles of the characters on stage. Ayumu was talking very fast so I couldn’t keep up with the Japanese but he was just really cute. I just thought he was very random and sorta crazy (You know his character). I felt like he was doing some kind of weird comedy skit. At one point, his glasses flew off. XD Then Fujiwara said a famous line and then Ayumu did his infamous line where he said, “Stop! Line stealer!” and you hear that police siren. XD
• I remember Okumura was just being a freaking adorable Kuga-senpai fanboy and there was a picture of Kuga on the screen. Eventually, Ayumu got interrupted when there was a sudden strong wind. Okumura said that the wind must mean that Kuga is near. More fanboying. And then Suwabe joined them. More fanboying. Okumura is SO FREAKING ADORABLE. He even did this SQUEAL… I don’t even know how to describe it.
• Then Okiayu joined in and said they would do an exhibition match. One of them was like, “Wait, but there are only 5 members. How are we going to do a match?” Dan-sensei said, “Look again.” Then they started to count and only got up to five. Then Dan-sensei said he would participate in this match! The other members were surprised at this! Okumura was freaking out, fanboying, and wondered if he would be on the same team as Kuga. He sounded like he would die out of happiness if that happened. Okiayu announced the two teams.

• Team Ayumu: Ayumu (relationer), Ban-chan, and Fujiwara

• Team Dan-sensei: Dan-sensei (relationer), Okumura, and Kuga

• And you don’t know how much Okumura was freaking out being on the same team as Kuga. SOOO CUUUTE. XD And Kuga seemed a bit overwhelmed with the fanboying. XD I think Kuga told Okumura to do his best and Okumura was very earnest to do that.
• The first runners would be Ban-chan vs Okumura. And the last runners would be Fujiwara vs Kuga. Fujiwara said he would not lose to Kuga. Then the match started. At first, Ban-chan was in the lead. But Okumura got motivated by Kuga and I think he got in the lead. When they touched hands to change runners, Okumura started fanboying by saying Kuga’s hand was big. At one point, Okumura even said he wanted to “bathe in Kuga-senpai’s sweat.” HE LITERALLY SAID THAT AND I WAS LIKE OMFG. XD And Kuga was very freaked out. XD
• There was actually a buzzer when Ban-chan tried to relay to Fujiwara… I’m guessing they weren’t successful? So Okumura got ahead but Ban-chan managed to touch hands with Fujiwara afterwards.
  
• Ayumu and Ban-chan decided to sing a song to motivate Fujiwara. XD It was a bit weird… and Fujiwara seemed a bit put off with it and then Ayumu said he should do this for Hozumi! And Fujiwara got into it.
• Eventually, Okumura heard Team Ayumu singing and wanted to sing for Kuga, too, to motivate him. He started wondering what he should sing and what type of music Kuga liked. He went, “Classical? But it seems that he likes enka.” Kuga heard all of this and quickly said something before Okumura started singing. XDDD He said that Okumura didn’t need to do anything. Just his feelings were enough. And Okumura squealed at this. XDD God, I love fanboys. XD
• It was a really close match and they both reached the finish line at the same time. When they looked at the times, they found out that… Team Ayumu won!!

After they left the stage, you see Hanazawa and Ryohei at the center of the stage. Another mini-drama!

• They were both super cute!! They started off by going, “Ping pong (onomatopoeia for doorbells) in very cute voices. <333 AHHH Then Sakura said they had a announcement and that they should do the drumroll like Hozumi! Riku seemed a bit reluctant and Sakura just did the sound effect and Riku awkwardly joining. XDDD And they announced that Prince of Stride would be getting character songs!!! Just one good news after another huh? XD

Then they left the stage and next, the screen showed a picture of Reiji with the Yagami yakisoba bread. I think he mentioned that you should only eat up to 3. XD So we heard Mamo’s voice and they showed a video message by Mamohimself!

• He apologized that he couldn’t make it to the event. He was asked about a memorable moment in doing Prince of Stride. He talked about how he enjoyed talking with Hanazawa and also, there was a part where he had to sing live at the recording studio. Then he said, “Speaking of songs…” XD (In the afternoon session, Shimono had to do his infamous impromptu singing so I thought oh god… poor Shimono). “Speaking of songs… oh no, I’m not the one who will be singing but… you know, that person… who is famous for impromptu singing… and makes you cry(?)..” Then he paused… and suddenly said, “Tosshi!” He said his name a few times and hoped that we would enjoy the event until the end.  

I don’t remember when the seiyuu came on stage but I clearly remember seeing Tosshi on stage, looking absolutely flabbergasted. XDDDD He was like, “What!?” I’m pretty sure everyone was expecting him to say Shimono’s name (like in the afternoon session). Apparently Shimono went, “Yes! Hehe” at this. XD Tosshi looked really reluctant to do it but he decided to do it. He dragged Hanazawa to do it with him. XD And let’s just say… impromptu singing is really difficult because they both failed. XD At one point, Tosshi sang, “Machu Picchu is a world heritage site~” It was just so random. XDDD Then he let Hanazawa continue it but failed. XD

Anyway, they were all seated. Ryohei and Nobu led the session. At one point, they were talking about Okumura fanboying and how he made this incredible squeal. XD Ryohei asked OnoYuu to try to do it. When OnoYuu tried, he made this really creepy sound. XD Also, Tosshi accidentally called Kuga “Kuga-chan” instead of Kuga-senpai. He got teased for making this mistake. XDDD They were wondering how their relationship got to that point, from senpai to chan.

Next, Ryohei or Nobu said that there was this one song in the OST. They played the song, which is called “Trust.” It’s that one song that gives you many feels and goes, “You gotta show me… you make me feel okay.~” They usually played this during an emotional scene and apparently, it’s only played in five scenes throughout the anime! I could’ve sworn I heard it more times! They played the first two scenes during the afternoon session and for the night session, they would play the rest of the three scenes! Then they talk about the scene afterwards.

I think before each scene, Ryohei told us to say, 3, 2, 1 GO!

1. The scene where Ayumu injures himself in the match so he could relay to Hozumi. ;w; I think this scene is pretty self-explanatory. It’s seriously sad… and gives me so many feels. ;w; I think many of the seiyuu like this scene as well…
2. The successful relation between Hozumi and Kuga. I believe Suwabe said that he actually went to the station where that relation was done (he might have said this during the afternoon session).
3. Lastly, of course, the last episode with the relation between Riku and Fujiwara. <3

Next up, they would do a variety corner, which means they would play games and compete for a prize! They split into two teams. Team Ryohei and Team Nobu!

Team Ryohei – Matsuoka, OnoYuu, Suwabe, Shimono

Team Nobu – Hanazawa, Okiayu, Egu, Tosshi

First, they did Prince of Animation. For this corner, one of the seiyuu from the Prince of Stride cast made a ranking of the top 3 scenes they liked the best. Team Ryohei and Team Nobu will be given a list of 10 scenes and they each have to guess the top 3 scenes that that seiyuu has chosen. And they have to put it in the right order to get points. They will get 1 point for each one they get right. If they get all 3 in the correct order, that team will get 10 points. Since Ryohei and Nobu were leading the session, they would not participate so it’s up to the members in their teams. So the seiyuu this time is OnoD!

Each member had boards and these boxes of magnetic strips of the scenes. They only got like 10-20 seconds to think and then had to show their boards. Ryohei or Nobu gave out a hint that the scenes that OnoD chosen doesn’t necessarily have his character in it. XD

They actually started off with number 3, then number 2, and then number 1.

OnoD’s top 3 scenes 

1. The scene where Fujiwara yells (I believe he was running against Hachiya and was falling behind). OnoD chose this scene because Fujiwara is usually reserved and quiet but this is the first time he voiced out his frustration(?).
2. The scene where Ayumu injures himself in the match so he could relay to Hozumi. ;w;
   
3. The scene where Kuga and Heath are talking. Kuga said he would run home and then goes off running. Then Heath says, “Everyone is an idiot,” and he runs off as well. XDDD

• When one of the seiyuu gets it right, Ryohei puts a sticker on the one they got correct. Egu had gotten one correct, but Ryohei bullied him by not giving him a sticker and simply ignored him when he went in his direction. Egu whined like a kicked puppy (which I found surprisingly cute because usually he usually complains in a loud voice). Eventually he gave him one. XD Sadistic Ryohei…
• When Ryohei went to the left, Shimono had gotten one right and he simply gave him a sticker. I believe after seeing Egu’s treatment, Shimono told Ryohei, “I got one right! Praise me! Praise me!” God, Shimono was so cute. Then Ryohei pat him on the head and said, “Aww, you did a good job,” in this cute doting voice. AHHHHHH <3333
• Apparently Suwabe and Okiayu managed to choose all the right scenes, just not in the correct order.

Team Ryohei – 3 (thanks to Suwabe, Matsuoka, and Shimono)

Team Nobu – 2 (thanks to Egu and Hanazawa?)

Next, they did jump roping! Two staff members came on stage with a long jump rope. Apparently they have to jump rope in teams! And they had the audience count!

• First, Ryohei’s team took the challenge. They managed to do 11! Actually, one of Matsuoka’s shoes fell off while doing it. XDDD
• Next, it was Nobu’s team’s turn! I think they asked Hanazawa if she would be okay jumping since she was wearing sandals but she said she would be okay. They made Egu go in the middle since he’s so tall. And they did 21! It was seriously amazing. Egu had to bend quite a bit to jump. XDDD Nobu also had to hold onto his pants because it was slipping. XD I think a few other members had to do so as well. XD
• Then Shimono tried convincing Ryohei’s team to do it again. XD The rest of Ryohei’s team seemed reluctant because it’s seriously tiring. Suwabe was like, “I’m in my 40’s!” Then Nobu asked the audience what we wanted… and of course we asked them to do it again!!! XD
• So they reluctantly tried to do it again. Matsuoka got asked if he wanted to jump rope with or without his shoes. XD They tried to convince him to just do it without the shoes but he said he could do it. This time, they only did 7 and it was OnoYuu’s fault. XD He started laughing but the rest of the team said it wasn’t a laughing matter! XD I think they asked if they could do it again and they did. XDDD And this time, they got 28! Man, they all looked so tired. XD
• Nobu kneeled and requested to Ryohei’s team to give them a chance to do it again. I think Shimono said okay. They all looked pumped up and headed to the jump rope. And Egu dramatically threw his jersey down on the ground. But once they got in front of the rope, they bowed to Ryohei’s team and said they give up. XDDDDD And the main reason was because they were tired. XDDD And plus there would be one more activity coming up… which would be tiring as well.

And lastly… you can’t do a Prince of Stride event without a running quiz! XD Two treadmills appeared with a digital number counter attached to them. First, each team chooses a runner and they get on the treadmill. Then a question will be asked relating to Prince of Stride. The runners have to run to 50 meters, and the first to do so, their team has the chance to answer the question. If they answer correctly, they get one point. If they don’t, the other team’s runner has to run to 50 and then the other team has a chance to answer the question. Before the runners started, the audience counted, 3, 2, 1 GO! I don’t remember much of the questions in relation to the runners…but anyway…

• Shimono had a lot of energy and he was moving like Funasshi…so Team Ryohei chose him to do the running first. XD For Nobu’s team, Okiayu volunteered to do it. Shimono ran to 50 meters first.
• Then it wasOnoYuuvsNobu. And OnoYuu runs FAST. I didn’t think he could run that fast. XD He got to 50 in no time while Nobu looked like he would die. I think the question asked was… how many times does Kuga say, “The wind is coming”?, and he didn’t look sure and just said 2 times. It was wrong. So Nobu… already dead tired, ran up to 50 meters weirdly, looking like a zombie. Okiayu gave it a try and guessed 5 times, which was wrong. The actual answer was 6 times! The closest number to 6 would get the point this time so that means Nobu’s team got points! Suwabe asked, “Did I really say it that many times?” XDDD
• ThenMatsuokavsTosshi. They were worried about Matsuoka because of his pants. He was wearing one of those fashionable sagged pants. It looked like it would be hard to run in. And I think OnoYuu bent down and grabbed his crotch area of the pants (It’s sagged mid-thigh so it’s not as if he’s actually touching it but still). XDDD Poor Matsuoka getting violated like that. Matsuoka’s counter kept on going up before it started, too. XD Anway, Matsuoka easily won even though one of his shoes fell off. XDDDD I think Tosshi stopped early because he got a cramp?
• I think one of them asked the audience who we wanted to see on the treadmill. I yelled outRyohei. And then one of them went, Egu? I guess many fans yelled out Egu’s name. And told us to chant Egu’s name so we started chanting it. XDDDD When they got on the treadmill, Ryohei said he wouldn’t lose when it came to this kind of game. Egu looked tired and had a weird running pose and truthfully, I didn’t have high hopes for him because he was really slow during the afternoon session. XD But it was actually a very intense… close battle!! XD It was 49-50 meters, Egu’s win!! AHHHHH
• I think the final battle was betweenSuwabeandHanazawa. Suwabe who is 44… and they were worried that Hanazawa wouldn’t be okay because she was wearing sandals. She said she would be okay. Suwabe said he would give a handicap and run with one leg! And he actually won… I was SO IMPRESSED to see a 44 year old man running with one foot like that. It looked like he was hopping… It must have been tiring. XD The question was actually a bit difficult because they got asked, “Which side of Himemiya’s hair is black?” Ryohei’s team said it was up to Shimono to decide. Shimono asked if they were talking about Himemiya’s point of view or audience’s point of view. He was told to answer with the audience’s point of view. Shimono was very indecisive and Suwabe just answered left and it was correct! XD
• So the end result was…. Ryohei Team – 44 / Nobu Team – 22
• Yes, Ryohei’s team won… by double! XD (They lost during the afternoon session). And for the grand prize… they won tickets to “Smile Land” aka Disneyland! XD One of them said, this meant that all of them can go to Smile Land together!! I think Shimono got a bit too excited and asked when they should go together. XD
  

After that, they left the stage and the screen started showing something.

• They promoted the upcoming Prince of Stride stageplay that would happen in Tokyo and Osaka. They showed Riku, Sakura, and Fujiwara. After that, they showed nice pictures of the Saisen members and announced that the Saisen members would have their own drama CDs!!! And furthermore, there will be a drama CD of the prologue of the Yagami brothers!!

ThenOxT came out wearing the Honan jerseys!! OxT is really amusing. XD They really know how to make the talk interesting. I heard that Oishi Masayoshi has experience with comedy? XD Well, he was doing the talking mostly. He said that they came JUST for this ONE song. xDDD Anyway, they had some requests.

• First, they wanted us to stand up. Then he explained how whenever fans say, “Stride!”, it sounds like “Soi”, so we might as well just say, “Soi!” And when we say “Soi!”, he wants us to jump and/or wave our penlights up. Not only with the “Soi” part, he said to just watch his hand movement. Whenever he raises it up, we should just jump and/or wave our penlights. Second, he said that we should have fun. Then whenever he says the words, “Maihama” or “amphitheater”, we should go, “Woo!” Lastly, they wanted us to do fanchants, basically sing some parts. He sang one part of the first verse, and most of the fans were able to sing after because of the opening. But then he sung the second verse and many fans didn’t know how it went. Oishi was like, “If you didn’t buy the single, you won’t know how the next part goes.” But he said, we can just hum it if we didn’t know the part. XDDD
• Then they sang it!! There were many blue and red penlights all around! :3 It was really fun! They were so cool, too!!!

After they finished, Ryohei and Nobu came out. Ryohei came out with his jersey tied around his waist. <333 They thanked OxT for coming just to sing this one song. XD Then Be My Steady played in the background and all the other seiyuu came out.

They lined up in the same order as the introduction. Oishi was at the end of the left side and Tom H@ck (guitarist) was on the right side. This time, for the concluding thoughts, they started from the sides first, from right to left. My mind blanks out on what they said but…

• Hanazawa said she was tired. And apparently she had always wanted to wear the jersey. She noticed that many fans wore it, too!
• Shimono said he wanted to drag the real Hozumi aka Kensho next time if theres an event, not just the can badge. <333 And he suddenly put his glasses on the ground for some reason. XD
• OnoYuu said he was “protected” by his brother and took out Shizuma’s acrylic charm from his pocket. OMG dawwww.
• I think Egu and a few others mentioned how it would be nice if all of them could get together (all of Saisen, etc) next time if there’s an event.
• Again,Matsuoka mentioned how he did his best voicing two characters. XD It must have been an interesting experience. XD
• Ryoheiwas the last one to say his comment and he said that the staff worked hard to plan out this event. <333

Then they all said thank you and began to leave the stage. ;w; Ryohei and Nobu high fived each other! AHHHH I think Shimono left weirdly. XD And Ryohei, one of the last ones to disappear from our sights, bowed once more and left. ;____;

And then we heard Sakura. >__< At the end, she told everyone to gather! And everyone said, “For always supporting us… thank you very much!!!” AAAAHHH ;W; Too many feels… On the screen, there was a picture of the PoS characters in chibi form surrounding the words, “Many thanks to you!” (in English).

My thoughts:

• Suwabe – Really cool as always!!!
• Okiayu – I think he’s really handsome in person! xD I feel that he’ reliable.
• Hanazawa – SHE’S SO CUTE!!!! <3
• Matsuoka – Awkward but really cute!! I was really impressed when he voiced two characters!!
• Egu – For the first time, I thought he sounded cute when he whined. XDDD And his character is really cute, too! I usually find him interesting or dorky… but not necessarily cute. XD But overall a dork. XD
• OnoYuu – Not only is he good at yo-yo… he can run fast!! He has a really nice smile, too!
• Tosshi – THIS FREAKING ADORABLE KUGA SENPAI FANBOY. AHHHH I think I grew to like Okumura… he’s seriously a cutie.
• Nobu – Oh Nobu… XD Cute.
• Shimono – SUPER ADORABLEEEE. AHHHH. When I see him in videos, I think he’s always gets bullied by others and interesting… but he was super cute in real life. In the afternoon session, he was the closest seiyuu to me and AHHHH. <3 He was waving to the fans as well. And bravo to his impromptu singing. xD
• Ryohei – What can I say? XD MY BIAS <33333 Super adorableee. XD I never fail to see him bully Egu every time.

• It was an awesome 2-hour event. I’m really glad I got to go to both sessions!!! Both sessions were really interesting!! And had so many awesome announcements!!! I can’t wait until it’s on DVD!!! :3 I look forward to the character songs as well! I hadn’t laughed so hard in so long.
• A special thanks to Jessa for coming with me to the event!! <3 I had lots of fun!

I attended both the afternoon and night session of the event on 6/19! So fanreport later!

1. The event is set to be on DVD!!!

3. Stage play in autumn in Osaka and Tokyo.
4. Drama CDs for Saisei characters!
5. Drama CD for the epilogue of the Yagami brothers!!!

I think there was one more thing but I forgot…

But omggg I can’t wait for the event DVD to come out and to hear the character songs!!!

So I attended the Aoharu x Kikanjuu event: Let’s have a nabe party at Yukki’s place night session. I went there with Edel! :3 Note: Ryohei-biased report for obvious reasons. xP And ignore my grammar mistakes as usual. And started to forget some details as days passed. XD

In the morning, we got to the venue: Ebisu Garden Hall before 9 to line up for goods.

Goods sales started at 12. It was a bit chilly outside but we somehow survived. xD And the line wasn’t too bad when we got there before 9, too! I don’t know how long the line was though… And there were 4 lines.

Finally it was 12! They let in 4 or 8 people at a time. And I got the goods that I wanted! I bought 5 can badges (that was the max plus it was only sold at the venue), 4 rubber straps, and the special CD!

The can badges and straps were random so when I opened the blinds, I got mostly Toy Gun Gun members. xDDD So since I wanted all of the Fujimon and some Midori, I traded with fans at the venue. It was pretty easy to trade and get everything that I wanted. I was surprised Hotaru was really popular since I managed to trade both of my rubber straps for Midori and Fujimon easily. XD Eventually I sold one of my can badges to a fangirl and one of my straps to Edel so she could have the Hoshishiro set. xD The

The idol!version of the can badges were shiny/glittery. XD But I thought Midori looked a bit weird while singing so… XD Plus I prefer the ones on top!

We could get into the venue at 6:30pm so we went to Ikebukuro until 5:30 or so. We got to the venue and waited until we could go in. While we were waiting, the staff members gave us this paper to fill out.

They called it a survey. You could write any question relating to your thoughts of the anime or radio, the atmosphere of the venue, and so on. I thought, “Oh, I guess they just want this in general?” I did hear some fans say that they were gonna use these questions for the event but I thought that they wouldn’t even have time to do that! Anyway, I did my best and wrote a lot… XD We had to turn in our surveys before going into the hall.

I took pictures of the flower stands. There were only two: one from GFantasy and the other for Komatsu-san.

Our seats were pretty close to the stage! :3

They started the event at 7:30pm. At first, we heard Ichi’s voice and she talked about the rules and manners. Then the seiyuu came out one by one. RYOHEI LOOKED SO GOOOOD AND CUUUTE. XD He was wearing this long knit that went down to his knees and the sleeves were so long, it covered his hands. He also had a long necklace dangling as well. (You can just check twitter for what they wore). Komatsu-san looked really cuute! The MC James Panda Jr wore a mask… I wouldn’t call it a panda though… and his shoes… OMG they had these panda plush face on them! The rest of the cast was cute too!!

So they started off by introducing themselves. Now I can’t remember the details but I do remember they were all cute. XD Especially Ryohei!!! I remembered he danced a little bit. Okitsu mentioned green and since some of the fans brought penlights/blades, we waved the green at him. (I was also waving green for Fujimon but I did it for him too). And Matsuoka… oh my god… I knew that he was a bit awkward so he was a bit slow in introducing himself. xD And Panda Jr said he was essentially NAOE sensei herself.  Unfortunately Ichi’s seiyuu, Kitamura couldn’t make it. >__< But Kimura Ryohei, Okitsu Kazuyuki, Komatsu Mikako, Matsuoka Yoshitsugu, and Maeno Tomoaki were there.

After the introductions, they changed the setting! They brought in kotatsu tables! O_O Apparently they made this setting with the image of Yukki’s apartment in mind.

When they were told to sit, Ryohei and Komatsu quickly went in front and sat down, posing coolly. XDDD

There were two kotatsu tables: one table for Team Hoshishiro and one for Team Toy Gun Gun. They actually took off their shoes and sat there. Team Hoshishiro was sitting on the table on the left side while Team Toy Gun Gun sat on the right side. So the seating arrangement was Okitsu and Ryohei and then Maenu, Komatsu, and Matsuoka. For the first segment, Panda Jr joined Team Hoshishiro to even things out.

They commented on how Panda Jr didn’t take off his shoes! XD Apparently it was difficult for Panda Jr to put them on and he did ask the staff if he could just go on with them on. xP So a staff member filled in for Panda Jr as MC. He sat down next to Okitsu.

The first segment started off with Ichi introducing the segment! The titles were a bit difficult for me to understand but it was related to food. Basically Team Hoshishiro and Team Toy Gun Gun will go against each other, playing games. When one team wins, they choose one of the two foods that are shown. Apparently the food that they choose will go into the nabe they will bring out later.

Ryohei decided to put his head down and pretend to sleep. xDD The other members commented on that. xP And Ryohei just said that it felt so nice being under the kotatsu table. And Komatsu said, “But the kotatsu isn’t even on.” XDDD

For the first part, they showed two types of seaweed, “konbu” and “Okinawa mozugu”.. XD The mozugu did not look as appealing… especially if you have to put it in nabe. And you usually put konbu in nabe so… XD

For the first game, the team members have to do or say the same thing at the same time. For the first round, the MC will say a theme. All 3 members of the team have to say the same word (whatever comes to mind) at the same time. If they do, they get a point. So Toy Gun Gun was the first one. The theme was basically an event related to spring. Toy Gun Gun all said “hanami (refers to cherry blossom viewing)” and got a point. Komatsu and Matsuoka commented on how Maenu was different for the night session. Komatsu said Maenu was the “dark horse” during the afternoon session. I’m guessing that for the afternoon session, Matsuoka and Komatsu had said the same thing but Maenu said something totally different for this game. Maenu said he’s different at night time (hinting that he’s basically a perv. I get the feeling he said some innuendos too… something about dessert). XDDD The other members went, “Are you okay?” xD

Then it was Hoshishiro’s turn. They were given the same theme but for autumn. Ryohei said how they can easily say the same word… because Toy Gun Gun said “hanami” so the obvious choice would be… At that time, I was thinking, “Well obviously that would be kouyou (autumn foliage… where all the leaves turn red, yellow and orange) right?”  And they all ended up saying different event. Panda Jr said sports day, Okitsu said a festival (maybe a local one in his hometown???), and Ryohei said “momijigari”. Basically the kouyou thing but that’s the term for the viewing of autumn foliage. XDDD And Ryohei said, “Wasn’t it obvious?” XD He was obvious hinting that since if they said hanami, it would make sense to think of the autumn foliage for autumn. XD He looked like he was gonna give up for the next question since he didn’t seem as hyped up.

For the next theme for Toy Gun Gun, the MC said, “Something you shoot with” or something along those lines. Komatsu and Maenu said the same thing, “gun” in Japanese while Matsuoka said “My Gun”. XD Since they’re basically the same thing, they got a point! Next was Hoshishiro’s turn and the MC said, “Something gun is useless against?”  Something along those lines. Sorry, I can’t explain it well. I think the literal meaning was “opposite” and since it was an easy question, all three of them said “zombies”. XD Both teams each got a point.

For the next theme, the MC says a phrase but this time, the teams have to do the same pose. The theme for Toy Gun Gun was “Being shot by a gun” so they have to make the same pose for when they’re shot by a gun. So they stood up and went in front of the stage. All three of them made totally different poses. Maenu’s pose was as if he was being shot consecutively nonstop (think of Fujimon’s gun). Komatsu’s pose was as if she got shot by a sniper and fell to the ground. And Matsuoka’s pose was just so cute.. He put both of his hands like on his stomach and his butt was sticking out a bit too. XDDDD Each of them had to explain their pose. And the other members commented on Matsuoka, saying, “Isn’t that just a stomachache!?” XD So no points for them this time.

Then it was Hoshishiro’s turn. Toy Gun Gun commented that since their theme was being shot by a gun… isn’t it obvious that Hoshishiro’s would be “that”? Basically it would be easy for Hoshishiro. And their theme was “Shooting with a gun”. And yes, that was exactly “that”. In the end, Panda Jr and Okitsu made the same pose. I think they extended one arm out and made a gun shape with their hands. But Ryohei made an entirely different pose. He bent down and made a pose with a “bazooka” apparently. Well, that’s what Ryohei said. XD Just think of Fujimon’s pose for many merchandise so far for Aoharu x Kikanjuu. Then he switched to the same pose as the other two. xDD But of course, they didn’t get the point.

So Toy Gun Gun won this round with two points and they chose the konbu. Which meant Hoshishiro got the Okinawa mozugu.

The second batch of food was raw salmon and smoked salmon. (Raw salmon is put in nabe while smoked salmon is not).

For the second game, they chose a leader. They were given this plastic gun, a plastic ring, and two long straws with a smaller part of it bent. The other members have to put the long straws in their mouth, with the longer part in their mouth and the bent end sticking up. The leader puts the plastic ring on one of the member’s straw. Then the other members have to transfer the ring using their mouths. Then the second member transfers the ring to the gun the leader is holding. While the MC was explaining, Ryohei, Okitsu, Matsuoka, and Maenu started playing with the straws. XDD They put the straws in their mouths and started moving it up and down. XDDD Panda Jr and Komatsu were just watching. Eventually they were told to stop. XDD

Panda Jr and Komatsu were the leaders this time. And Toy Gun Gun won so easily. XDDD Ryohei barely managed to transfer it onto Okitsu’s straw while Toy Gun Gun finished. Okitsu looked sad. xD

So Toy Gun Gun won this round. They went back to their kotatsu. Komatsu said since she likes Kirimi-chan… she wanted the raw salmon. (The salmon mascot Kirimi-chan is voiced by Yonaga Tsubasa). They mentioned Yonaga and Ryohei did a Wing (Yonaga Tsubasa) monomane. He seriously sounded like Wing when he went “I’m not Kirimi-chan!” or something like that. Everyone looked a bit confused and Okitsu pointed to Ryohei. XD And Hoshishiro got the smoked salmon.

The last batch of food was shrimp balls and shrimp chips.

They had to do a PK with these plastic guns and rubber bands. They use these guns to shoot the rubber band and knock down something. They only get five rubber bands, so five shots.

One member from Hoshishiro and one member from Toy Gun Gun did rock, paper, scissors. Ryohei and Matsuoka did it and Ryohei won with rock. Hoshishiro was given the choice to go first or second. They decided to go first. Then they chose the order in their team and the order was Panda Jr, Ryohei, and Okitsu.

Panda Jr was getting nervous since he was the first one up. He had to aim for this small panel of Matsuoka Masamune from a certain distance. And someone started to say, “Panda, Panda” and the fans joined in chanting Panda. But that just got him even more nervous. LOL Unfortunately he missed. >__< Then it was Ryohei’s turn. Maenu was standing near the Matsuoka cardboard panel and Ryohei said a really cool comment. But he actually just aimed for Maenu’s crotch (or maybe it wasn’t on purpose but I doubt it). XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD And he was definitely on target. ROFL Oh god, evil Ryohei. Then it was Okitsu’s turn. Maenu purposely stood behind the cardboard and from where I was sitting, it looked like the cardboard was covering his crotch part. His face looked like he was saying, “Bring it on” and Ryohei dragged him away. Unfortunately, he missed as well. Ryohei went, “Midori-sa~n!” in that whiny Fujimon voice. <333

Then it was Toy Gun Gun’s turn. When asked who would go first, Matsuoka said in a cool voice that he should do it. He’s so cute… So the order was Matsuoka, Komatsu, and Maenu. The small panel got changed to Midori-san (that one pose where he’s sitting down with his legs wide open). Toy Gun Gun said that was unfair because of the shape of the panel and that it was harder to knock down. Unfortunately he missed all five shots. Then it was Komatsu’s turn. And she missed all five shots too and even got a rubber band and shot it with her fingers but Midori-san still wouldn’t go down. Then it was Maenu’s turn and he said some cool lines about having to take down Midori-san and Okitsu said some lines back in that Midori-san voice. XD And he missed too! (Actually for some of them, they hit the panel but it wouldn’t go down).

Which meant they had to do it again. This time, the MC told them that they could stand closer. Panda Jr knocked Mattsun down. Ryohei shot him down with one try. <333 Okitsu purposely went super close to it and was told “That’s too close!” XD But he shot him down as well. Then all of Toy Gun Gun managed to shoot down the Midori-san panel.

Which meant they had to do it again. The cast mentioned, “Oh, this is what it means by PK.” They have to play until one of the team wins.

This time, the distance was a bit farther and they only had 3 shots. And the MC asked them which character panel would be better, Midori or Mattsun. The cast said either was fine so the MC chose Midori. This means both teams would try to shoot down Midori.

Team Hoshishiro went up and were close to shooting him down but failed to do so. >__< And same with Toy Gun Gun. XDD

So the MC told them to just do rock, paper, scissors to settle this game. Both teams chose a representative. So Hoshishiro chose Okitsu. And because of that, Maenu said, “That means I have to go” They went in front of the stage and sat down. XDD The other cast members were like !? It’s like they’re old men, having a talk. XD So they did it. At first, it was a tie but then Okitsu won. XD Which means Hoshishiro won this game!

They went back to their kotatsu and Hoshishiro chose the shrimp dumpling balls. Which meant Toy Gun Gun got the shrimp chips.

Nabe pots were brought out along with the ingredients. They had to throw in the ingredients that each team got. XD Okitsu looked weirded out when he threw in the Okinawa mozugu. And one of the Toy Gun Gun members threw in the entire bag ofshrimp chips and let me say… wow. XDD It was interesting. Ryohei took out his smartphone and started taking pictures of the nabe. They threw everything in and put the lid on top. (The audience couldn’t see what the nabe actually looked like but the Aoharu twitter uploaded pictures after the event ended!).

So while they waited for both nabe pots to be cooked and ready, the temporary MC left and Panda Jr went back to being the main MC. The staff members brought in a box. And guess what was in the box? The “surveys” that they had the fans fill out. XDDD At this point, I thought, “Oh crap. I really hope they don’t read mine’s.” XD

Panda Jr put his hand in the box and took out one. (I don’t remember the order of the questions though).

When they read a survey, they also read off the penname first and asked where that person was in the audience. XD Those lucky fans~

One question was about what made all the seiyuu happy recently. (And this is when I realized you were only supposed to write a question and your pen name, not your real name. XD). First Ryohei started off and he ended up saying something like being here with all the fans and seeing their smiles here made him happy. He’s really great at fanservice. XD Then it was Okitsu’s turn and he said a similar thing. Along with Maenu and Komatsu. Then it was Matsuoka’s turn and there was a bit too long pregnant pause and then he said the fact he was able to be here with the rest of the cast. And we all went dawwww.  

There were two questions that were similar asking the seiyuus what their favorite song is. Ryohei commented on how the Hoshishiro song is really cool. He asked the audience if they have heard it. He said it’s mostly him and Okitsu singing with a little bit of Kitamura (though I can’t really hear her). It’s a very Hoshishiro-like song… very powerful. XD The other song question was about what their favorite image song was. And since Panda Jr didn’t have an image song, to please make an image song. XDDD Maenu mentioned how he liked “Oretachi no Za Daiseikou”. That song got stuck in my head especially the beginning part since it starts off with “Babababababa”. He sung the beginning for a little bit. Then they talked about how Yukki’s image song would be erotic and Matsuoka sort of rapped/said “EROHON!” LOL Komatsu added on how he would also have Ichi in the background as well but would probably beat Yukki up.

Another survey said, “Midori is the most DO-S (sadistic) in AxK. How about among the seiyuus?” All the seiyuus agreed on one person. Even Komatsu said, “It’s obviously that one person.” It was Ryohei. XDDDDDD When he was asked to explain, he said, “Well, if I had to choose between Do-S or Do-M… I would be Do-S.” He even asked the fans as well. XD  He explained how people who are Do-S like being complimented and if you can’t take a compliment and bask in it, then you can’t be a Do-S. XD Ryohei said to Komatsu, “You’re really cute today” and Komatsu got all embarrassed and then Ryohei did too. XD It was to prove his point though. Then each seiyuu started saying whether they were masochistic or sadistic. Okitsu is a S. Maenu… well he’s both. I’m guessing he was a M in the day and an S at night. xP Komatsu is obviously a M and I don’t think they really got to Matsuoka… XDDD I think he tried saying something.. but I don’t remember. But I think he’s an M either way. XDD

Another question asked with the character that they voice, what was their favorite line? They said that’s embarrassing! XD Because it’s their own lines. Okitsu said, “Kimochi warui na~ (In the anime, he said this when Fujimon asked him to pet him. Basically, “You’re disgusting” but not in such a bad connotation here). He kept on saying it and fans were going crazy. He commented how everyone is a masochist. XD Ryohei said he didn’t really say one? At least I didn’t catch what he said… Maenu said “OPPAI OPPAI!” (Breasts). He said it was his first line in the anime, too. LOL (When he was on the phone). Komatsu said a line related to playing survival games with everyone? I don’t remember. Then a fan yelled out for her to say it. And Maenu just went “Oppai!” And the others and the fans were like “…” Obviously the fans were asking Komatsu to say her lines, not Maenu! LOL In the end, she didn’t do it. Matsuoka said a really meaningful line…. <3

Panda Jr looked at the staff to ask if there was time for another question at least twice. XD

Finally the segment was over and they opened the lid of the nabe! They tried the nabe and both teams had an unsure look on their faces but said it was delicious.

For Toy Gun Gun’s nabe, the shrimp chips dissolved in the nabe. XDDD Ryohei kept smelling Toy Gun Gun’s nabe.

Ryohei asked Okitsu to feed him AND HE DID. ASLDKFJAW;EJLFK IT WAS SO CUTE.

Ryohei told Maenu to try some of their nabe. So he went over to Okitsu and Okitsu fed him. Maenu sorta had an awkward pose while doing so. XD Then he went back to Toy Gun Gun’s kotatsu table and Okitsu, with a Midori-san voice said, “Masamune, how was it? Say it.” Or something like that. And Maenu acted in role of Masamune and was like, “Oh-oh… uhh… good.” Or something like that. XD Gotta love this fanservice. Thank you Ryohei. XD

Ryohei tried Toy Gun Gun’s nabe, more like took Maenu’s bowl and ate some. He makes an unsure face and thinks it’s good.

They mentioned how during the afternoon session, the nabe didn’t go as well. XD (I saw pictures and let’s just say Hoshishiro’s nabe turned VERY SWEET. I believe it had maple syrup and chocolate in there… the picture almost looked like curry).

Ryohei went back to Toy Gun Gun’s nabe and ate some more. Apparently he took a liking to it. XD

So then this segment ended.

Panda Jr made announcements regarding AxK. He actually started off with reading all of it really fast. It was seriously a lot of text. XDDDD Eventually he gave up towards the end but it was really impressive.

Then he said that they would play the beginning of the AxK special CD soundtrack while they prepared for the mini live. It started off with Toy Gun Gun at an amusement park. They went to go on a ferris wheel but ferris wheels are only for two people. Yukki suggested that they just take turns going in pairs but Hotaru is sad since she wants to go with all of them at once. Meanwhile you hear Hoshishiro and Ichi and Fujimon are fighting over who gets to go with Midori on the ferris wheel. Hotaru goes, “Hmm… those voices sound familiar.” Hotaru and Fujimon are buddy buddy, talking about their problem. Fujimon suggests that Toy Gun Gun and Hoshishiro get together so they can even out the number but other members go EHH!? And suddenly Midori suggests they have a competition with each other at the amusement park and the other members go EHH? And they cut it off here. (When I have time, I’ll listen to the entire thing.).

Then Komatsu came out with a microphone and the stage all clear. The fans got out the penlights. Mostly everyone waved blue and some did orange like me. She started off by singing the first ending song, Gunjou Survival. She was so amazing… her voice… *___*

After singing, she was saying how during the afternoon session, because of the nabe, she felt kinda sick/bad. In addition, there was some audio problems.

Then she sang “Locker” and it was seriously a beautiful song. >__<

Then it was finally the last song! Maenu and Matsuoka came out.

Somehow it got to the topic of Maenu stripping. He asked the audience, ‘What? You want me to strip?” And we went, “Yes!!” And then said, “If I strip, then I can’t stand on this stage!” Basically he would get in trouble with his agency. XDDD

They sang Bravest Destiny! At one point in the song, Komatsu and Maenu pushed Matsuoka in the middle and he looked confused and a bit awkward but it was really cute. XD And Maenu put an arm around Matsuoka and they were all cute. Asldfa;jwelkf And at the end, Matsuoka hugged Maenu from behind and it was just so adorable!!! Als;dfjkawef LOL

Then the rest of the cast came out. They each said their closing thoughts.  

And Matsuoka was just so adorable. We thought he was going to say something serious but he said that his current outfit was practically the same as his pajamas and that they were really comfortable. XDDD When he was under the kotatsu, he really did feel like he was at home. XD

Okitsu mentioned “twins” and said, “Kimochi warui na” but even then, he still likes everyone. XD The fans went crazy of course.

They mentioned how it was unfortunate that all of them couldn’t make it. They couldn’t complete Hoshishiro. And that they hope we could meet again… something along those lines. >___<

Then they left the stage one by one… and the last 3 members (Toy Gun Gun), bowed at the same time.

It seriously went too fast!!! The event felt like it so short. And when I checked the time, one hour and a half passed. To me, it felt short since I’ve been going to 2 hours+ events. XD

And one part I didn’t know where to put it in.

Ryohei was buddy buddy with almost everyone. XD He leaned against Okitsu. He sorta pushed Maenu. I don’t remember if he had an interaction with Matsuoka… So cuuuute.

I was really glad I got to go to the event especially with Edel!! Ryohei looked so good as usual!!! Komatsu was really cute!! Okitsu seemed like a mature and cool person! Matsuoka was just so adorable!!! Maenu was… a dork XD Panda Jr is an interesting MC! I felt that they had good chemistry with each other, too!! It was really nice!! I can only hope for a second season in the far future and I look forward to the manga as well! I’ll continue support NAOE sensei! ^w^

It has been a few weeks since the event so some things might be out of order. XD My memory is a bit fuzzy, too… and my Japanese… I looked at a few past tweets as well… And this is why I should write a report ASAP and not procrastinate. Anyway, please enjoy this long post of text and some pictures (not beta-ed at all).

The Starmyu event was held in Yomiuri Hall, close to Yurakucho Station.

So I woke up pretty early for the event! And my itabag that I prepared for the event! :3 I’m sure you can tell who my bias is. XDDD

Actually, I had planned to meet up with a girl that I met on Twitter. I waited for her and she came along with two other Twitter friends. I thought it would be awkward because I’m the only non-Japanese person there and my Japanese isn’t the best but they treated me nicely! It didn’t feel so awkward. So I met Shoko-chan, Chi-chan, and Reiha-chan. We sat down in the queue around 8 though we had trouble finding the place where they sold the goods. The line didn’t seem so bad most likely because they sold the Starmyu goods the day before as well.

We killed time by talking and finally it was 11:00! And it was crazy… All of the T-shirts were sold out within 30 minutes! How could it have been sold out so fast!?

I got the Starmyu pamphlet (which I posted), the star-shaped penlight (I was disappointed that it only had blue and green. I thought it would at least have all of Team Otori’s colors) and two random blinds for can badges. For every 3000yen you spend, you get a blind for wristbands so I got two. I didn’t get Nayuki but thanks to my newly made friends, we traded and I got the Nayuki can badge I wanted as well as two Nayuki wristbands. I even got an extra one… Hahaha. 

Anyway, after that, we stood around, trying to trade the badges. We walked around for quite a bit. Another twitter friend called Nacchan joined us. A girl approached me and asked if I wanted to buy the Nayuki acrylic strap. I was a bit on the fence because it was 700yen but decided to buy it. XD Also on twitter, I found a tweet selling these other acrylic straps which only came in a set with the other members but I only wanted Nayuki. I managed to get them!

Eventually, we went to a convenience store, sat down, and ate. Then we went to be “confirmed” or in other words “checked in”. Basically, reselling tickets is not allowed so if you’re not the owner of the ticket(s), you can’t enter the venue. The process went really fast. I gave them my ticket and my ID. They had this folder and I assume that it has all our information. Then they put a specially made wristband (and I can say, it’s practically impossible to take off unless you have scissors). For the night session, the wristbands were gold and apparently for the afternoon session, it was silver.

Then we killed some more time by walking around, trading, and sitting, talking. We also looked at the pamphlet!

Then we went to Yomiuri Hall before 17:20, which was surprisingly in the same building as Bic Camera, an electronic store as well as other stores and cafes. We walked up basically 7 flights of stairs because Yomiuri Hall is on the 7^thfloor.

We didn’t have much time to take pictures so I only managed to take pictures of some flower stands. Click HERE for pictures.

I couldn’t find the present boxes and eventually had to go back to put in my letter to Kensho. XD

I found my seat and it wasn’t so bad because the venue was fairly small! The setup of the venue was really interesting, too!

And finally the event started at 18:00! I think it started off with Ugawa, Toraishi and Inumine talking. They went over the rules: no camera, recording, etc…

Then Hanae, Kensho and Arthur came out and did a little skit. They talked about how they’re gonna do a “Mr. Ayanagi Contest” for the school cultural festival. The winner of the contest will receive “Yabosuke goods”, “blue-ray disc of Tengenji’s plays.. all 10 of them”, his photobook, his can badges and even rubber straps! XD Nayuki, Tsukigami, and Hoshitani weren’t too thrilled with the prizes. XDDD Hoshitani introduces by saying they were going to start the festival. The three of them left the stage.

And Gero came out and he sung the opening song and had backup dancers. He was wearing green and white jacket and white pants (the exact same outfit in the pamphlet). They played clips from the anime on the screen while he was singing.  

Then each seiyuu got introduced. They started off with the “We are the Kao Council” song playing in the background. As the song played in the background, the screen showed clips of the Kao Council members. One by one, the seiyuu came out. Suwabe came out first and said something that Otori would say. XD Then he stood at the left. He was followed by Hirakawa and then Hatano.

Next, “Star of Star” played in the background.  Okitsu popped up, acting all dorky. I have never seen him like this (because the first time I saw him was at the Aoharu x Kikanjuu event and you know how he plays Midori…) He said, “Eh eh” and pointed the mic to the audience and we said, “Ooohhhh!!” Then KENN came out and he’s just so freaking cool and handsome. AHHHH!! He said, “Koneko-chan” in a sexy voice. XD And of course we all went crazy. Then Matsuoka popped up.

And finally, “Seishun Countdown” played. First off was Maeno and of course, he was cool! Then Hosoya and came out and said a famous Tengenji line and pointed the mic to the audience and then we yelled out, “Yabosuke!” Hahaha. He was followed by Arthur, who seemed very cool. After that was Kensho who said,  可愛いは作れる！ (literally, “You can make cuteness!” ) in a very very cute voice. AHH He’s so adorable. And of course, lastly, Hanae who just seemed so happy go lucky and had a lovely smile.

Suwabe was the MC and said that each seiyuu would give an introduction. They each introduce themselves. Suwabe started off and went, “Hey girls!” and the girls answered! After that, he went, “Hey boys!” And the cast and we were surprised to see like two fanboys. LOL I was really surprised to see fanboys (could they be boyfriends of fangirls?). And this is where my mind blanks out. XD I think Hosoya did the Yabosuke thing again and Okitsu did the “Eh eh” thing once more. And KENN did the “koneko chan” thing in that voice of his. <33

And then Suwabe called out for Gero who came in.  Apparently he is a Tengenji fan. XD He talks about how it’s his first time(?) being offered to sing at an event like this. And on Nico Nico Douga, there’s a video of what the lyrics sound like when Gero sings the song. So for the “D R E A M E R Dreamer”, it turned into Iie Iie , Ebi Kani Peaman (No, no, Shrimp, Crab, Green peppers)… I admit, Gero does have a unique way of singing. Then they left the stage.

Next skit was with Tengenji, Toraishi, and Ugawa. They were facing against each other to be the winner of the Mr Ayanagi contest. Eventually one of them asked about the whereabouts of Kuga and Toraishi commented on how Kuga just gets lost so easily. Tengenji and Ugawa tease Toraishi like crazy. XD It was really cute. Also, I’m pretty sure at this part, KENN, Hosoya, and Matsuoka messed up at least once with their lines (LOL) and when Matsuoka messed up, he just looked so cute and embarrassed because he bit his lip and looked to the side XD

The skit ended and everyone came out. Then Hanae comments on how “Yabosuke” hasn’t come out yet. I noticed that Hosoya didn’t come out and apparently that was a mistake on his part. XDDD Because Hosoya apologized after he came out a few seconds later XDDD

QUIZ TIME

Suwabe and Hirakawa led the next section… so game time!

They split into two teams: Team Otori and Team Hiiragi. Team Otori had 5 people and Team Hiiragi only had 3 so Hatano ended up joining Team Hiiragi. Then they joked around how that it wouldn’t be Team Hiiragi anymore and they jokingly changed the team name.. but I forgot what. XD Anyway they sat down at their respective chairs.

The first game was the “Intro Song Quiz”! Basically, they will play like a few seconds (more like a second) or so of one of the Starmyu songs and the teams have to guess it!

There were two podiums in front of each team. The teams surround their podium, which has a buzzer. First one to buzz in can guess. Someone from Team Otori pressed the buzzer for fun before the game started. XD

If one team gets a question correct, they get 1 point. 1 point = 1 ball, green balls for Team Otori and blue balls for Team Hiiragi. The pink balls were for answers deemed interesting by the MCs. Then the balls are put inside these two podiums placed side by side in the back. The left belonged to Team Otori and the right belonged to Team Hiiragi.

1. The MCs said that they would play a second of the beginning of a song. Arthur quickly buzzed in and got it right. It was “Stand By Dreams”. Arthur said he loved Starmyu (if you saw a previous tweet of Arthur, he tweeted asking where he could sing Starmyu songs and went to karaoke and sang a lot of the Starmyu songs XD) and Suwabe said that Arthur really loved Starmyu.  

2. For the second song, they played a few seconds of the chorus. Except at first, both teams looked really confused while the audience went, “Ehhh?” (Basically, we were surprised that they didn’t know it). But Hanae buzzed in and guessed it right. It was “Ayanagi Show Time (Otori arrangement).”

3. This time, 3 songs will be played at the same time. If they can guess one song, they can get 1 point. If they can guess all 3 songs in one try, they can get 5 points. Even I had a hard time recognizing one song. XD KENN buzzed in and since he’s just amazing, he managed to guess all 3. “Honey! Honey! Trap!”, “Caribbean Groove”, and “Star of Star”.

4. For the last song, they will play a song super fast (basically fast forward it). When they played the song, both teams looked confused and Kensho acted really cute/stupid pushed the buzzer and put it on top of his head. In the end, he didn’t guess the song. I think Hanae tried guessing the song and guessed it wrong but when he tried again, he got it right! It was “Eien Stage”!

By the way, while this “intro song” game was going on, Hosoya and Kensho were chilling and sitting around the podium. They kept talking to each other and their interactions are adorable. Hosoya commented that he and Kensho were talking and Kensho joked about putting the buzzer on his head. Hosoya said that Kensho should do it in front of everyone and so that’s why he did it! And when he put it on his head, he told Hosoya to look at him. XD

Next segment

For the next game, the MCs changed to Maenu! (Had to look back on a few tweets for this but couldn’t find many). Suwabe and Hirakawa joined their teams. And why is Maeno the MC? You know… how Kuga is an artist? I’m sure you’ve seen those blob drawings floating around! In teams, they have to guess what is happening in the picture drawn by “Kuga” which is why Maeno is the MC this time.

They give an example of blob!Nayuki and blob!Tengenji making some sort of food. You can only tell it’s Nayuki because you see yellow on the blob and red on Tengenji blob.

Then the teams have to decide and change the order for each round. Team Hiiragi ended up doing the order by playing rock, paper, scissors.

Each person is given a sketchbook and marker. Their order is important.

• 1^st person: “When (the picture happened)”
• 2^nd person: “Where”
• 3^rd person: “Who”
• 4^th person: “What they did (object)” [If you know Japanese, you’ll get what I mean. In Japanese, the verb comes last]
• 5^th person: “What they did (verb)”

It’s a bit hard to translate since Japanese grammar works in an interesting way but I’ll do my best to translate it XD

They decide to do an example. It’s revealed that blob!Nayuki and blob! Tengenji were making curry udon (I swear it looked like pasta). A lot of the audience went like “Ehhh? What?” XD

The last person in each team got asked to give any thoughts. Kensho said Team Otori’s teamwork is amazing. KENN said the same thing about his team and they were “Star of Star”. XD

Maenu got a kick out of Hirakawa’s answer. I think he gave this team a pink ball. XD

I didn’t think they were capturing Inumine! I thought they were dancing around him! LOL WTF. XD Anyway…

Then Maenu lifted up the podiums in the back where you see a clear tube and balls. And Team Hiiragi won by one point! As a prize, they got T-shirts with the infamous Kuga’s drawing on them (the drawing is based on the visual for the pamphlet/event. Just look at the last page).

Next up was a skit between Inumine, Kuga, and Toraishi. I mostly remember Toraishi being teased/bullied again like crazy. XDDD

And this led to next major skit!

First you see Hatano come out. He talked about how there was a very bad flu… cold going around. And apparently that was why the other two Kao Council members aka, Morikubo and Toriumi, weren’t there. He also found it weird that no one was there…Suddenly he got a call… from Otori. Apparently both Hiiragi and Otori were both at the hospital. They had caught a cold! Otori asked Sazanami to take care of his pupils for the day as well as Hiiragi’s. Hiiragi gets on the phone and coughed like crazy. XDDDD Hiiragi was super sick.. he sounded like he was dying. XDDDD Oh Hirakawa…

So Sazanami waited for Team Otori and Team Hiiragi. When he asked where was Tatsumi and Sawatari, they said that they had caught the cold. And Inumine was missing… Anyway, the situation itself was already amusing itself.

Eventually, Tengenji and Ugawa got into a fight. XDDDD I’m pretty sure at this point, it was most likely adlibs. Ugawa kept saying, “baka baka (idiot)!!” many times. It was actually pretty cute. XD Tengenji retorted with “Chibi (pipsqueak)” as a comeback and then Ugawa said “Loner!” Tengenji then said “Girly face!” And Ugawa paused and finally said, “Loner!” again XDDD

And finally, Sazanami got mad at them. Man… he’s scary. XD

The others tried to calm him down. Eventually, Kuga showed Sazanami his wonderful drawing of him (Sazanami) and suddenly went, “My eyes!! My eyes!!” Poor Sazanami… the others tried to help him but it became worse.  

To try to help him, Nayuki panicked and gave him tea to calm him down.  Sazanami drank it but suddenly started “dying”. Then Tsukigami looked at it and went, “Oh no, it’s tea made specially for Nayuki.… that his sisters made…” And Nayuki went in extreme panic mode, going, “Oh my god!! I’m so so so so sorry!! My sisters are murderers!!!” Actually, it was extremely adorable. XDDDDDDDDDD

Eventually Inumine (who wasn’t present during all of this) skipped right in… and sang randomly.

And then eventually you hear ambulance noises. And the scene ended. The audience went like “EHHH? That’s it??” kinda thing.

Then Hirakawa and Suwabe came out and closed the skit. XD

Then you hear Hoshitani’s voice. After that, they showed the screen, showing a playback of the entire first season. It felt very nostalgic… (I think I got the order wrong with this one). Hoshitani came out and sung his solo (short version)!!! AHHHH!!!

Followed by sing Seishun Countdown!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THEY DID THE DANCE AND STUFF ALSDFKJAWE SHORT VERSION BUT AHHHH ASDLJFKAWE I WOULD KILL FOR THE FULL VERSION BUT AHHH. <3333 Kensho, Hanae, and Arthur wore the “Satisfy” shirts. XD

After the song, Kensho said how they actually did the star thing before coming out too! <3

Then they sung Eien Stage (short version) and bromance! We screamed seeing Kensho and Hanae putting their arms around each other. Then it was Tengenji and Tsukigami’s part and Arthur and Maeno were all buddy instead and it was like ?? eh? XD Wait.. it should have been Arthur and Hosoya instead… but eventually Arthur went over and put his arm around Hosoya and of course the fans went wild… including me. XD

Then the screen advertised Starmyu stuff like the two DVDs containing the OVAs!! And yes, 2nd season announcement came out!!! AHHH!!! They showed the visual of Team Otori one by one in their second year uniform and they looked really cool and AHHH!! So many feels!! <333

After that, all the seiyuu come out and gave their concluding thoughts. All of Team Otori wore colored T-shirts pertaining to their character’s color but they weren’t the T-shirts that were sold.

Hirakawa commented on how Tengenji has fun with “Yabosuke” and KENN with “Koneko-chan” and how he wanted Hiiragi to have something like that! XDDD

Matsuoka commented that because they will become 2^nd years, that Ugawa will have a voice change (because of puberty) and he did this low voice. XDD Then he said, “Of course that won’t happen” And also said that he’s a “small demon” now and he might become a “full-fledged demon” as a second year. XDDD

One of them mentioned how next time, if there’s another event, that they would like Nobu and Yuma to be there so there will be a full Team Hiiragi. XD Dawww

Suwabe announced that there was another big surprise! And a staff member brought in two cakes apparently shaped as stars! And everyone sung happy birthdaaaay to Hirakawa and Maenu!!! Their birthdays were close!! And they both gave comments. XD  Picture HERE

Apparently Team Otori has a line group (which got created the day before the event) and Kensho said it felt like a real team because Suwabe sent them a message (something Otori-like) and the rest went like “Yoroshiku!” I just thought that was super adorable. Dawwww <3

My memory fails in the rest of the comments.

At the end, every team did their set phrase and pose!

For the Kao Council, they went, “We are the Kao Council!” Then team Hiiragi went, “Star of star!” And lastly…  team Otori went “We are stardust!” and everyone lifted up one arm and pointed up except Hosoya!!! XDDDDDD HAHAHA He didn’t do it. XDDDDDDDD He looked really out of it and after everyone did it, Hosoya just looked confused and got embarrassed. We laughed at that though the others didn’t seem to notice. XDDDD Oh Hosoya…

And eventually, I met up with Reiha-chan, Nacchan, Shoko-chan, and Chi-chan again! And since there were five of us…　☆

And thus this ends my fanreport. God, this took way longer than I thought. XDDD Anyway, I’m so happy there’s gonna be a second season in the spring of 2017! It’s a long way from now but it’ll come in no time!!! New songs!! New characters!! <333 And hopefully another event where they can sing the songs?? XD

Everyone was just super adorable! Suwabe is so cool as always! Hatano amuses me to no end. Hirakawa is just an angel. Okitsu is such a dork. XD Matsuoka is adorably awkward and tries his best. KENN is SO COOL AND HANDSOME AND I LOVE HIS VOICE. XD (Now you know my second favorite character). Arthur seems cool but I realized he is a bit strange. XDDD Maeno is cool in his own way. Hanae has such a lovely smile. Hosoya… always looks nervous and out of it but that’s part of his charm. <3 And Kensho is just pure cuteness like Nayuki. <3 And Gero is really cool!

I’m really glad I got the chance to go to this event! I will definitely continue to support Starmyu!!! <333

Next up, KiraFes 2016 fanreport… which will take time. XD I don’t think I’ll finish it this week because I’m going to the Prince of Stride event this weekend… Anyway, look forward to it! ■ INTRODUCTION

• Reki and Langa did the intro (voice over only), where they issued guidelines before the start of the event like not being allowed to eat in the venue (which saddened Langa), and having to turn off their phones (Reki took care of turning off his phone and Langa’s). Langa also had a hard time reading some kanji in the guidelines and Reki helped him.
• The event of course starts with Adam, appearing in a VTR welcoming everyone to the masquerade. He calls “Langa-kun and the others” to enter the stage. Throughout the event, Adam appears through the VTR as the host of the masquerade.
• The seiyuus appeared with masks on (but eventually took them off when they spoke).

■ “OUR INFINITE TALK” CORNER

A “video message” from Koyasu appears as an introduction, though the only thing shown on the video is his mask on top of a table.

Question #1: Since Sk8 is an original anime, you did the acting without knowing how the story would go later on. What development particularly surprised you?

● Koyasu: I didn’t expect that Adam would be THIS amazing as a character. I really loved Adam. (VTR shows Adam in the last ep in his funeral outfit and skateboard)

● Nagatsuka: That Langa is TOO good. I thought it would be a story about Reki and Langa moving up the ladder together, but Reki was eventually left out.

● Hatanaka: I was surprised about what happened to Hiromi getting beaten up later on.

Kobayashi: I was surprised that he would end up getting along with everyone, like he’s gotten the Mom role now.

Midorikawa: He’s indeed gotten cuter towards the end.

Matsumoto: We were talking in the backstage earlier how there would be a spin-off where the Manager falls in love with Shadow (not Hiromi).

Hatanaka: But the Manager was shown with someone else in the last ep

Miyake: I’m sure that’s just one of their relatives!

● Kensho (appearing through a VTR where he’s in his Tadashi outfit): Didn’t expect that Adam and Kikuchi grew up and have lived together since they were little, and that Kikuchi is actually older than Adam. I never thought that I’d ever get to play a role who’s older than Koyasu’s (Note: irl Koyasu is 54, Kensho is 31 yrs old)

Question #2: What about SK8 shocked you the most?

● Matsumoto: I thought SK8 would be more about sports, but it turned out to be really crazy! I honestly thought like, “What the hell is the director thinking?”

● Nagatsuka: I was surprised that even getting off the skateboard is counted. Well, there’s Joe who rode using his hands, which in a way is still considered riding, but Adam got off and even hit someone with a skateboard.

● Hatanaka: And even when someone gets hit the people around were just calm about it like it’s something normal

● Midorikawa: But hitting others is bad! That’d hurt A LOT! Moreover, at first I was thinking that the exhibition moves like Love Hug is impossible irl, but Cherry sometimes would give explanations so that’s interesting and made me think that it might actually be possible.

● Matsumoto: But Joe’s style is really unbelievable! I tried it at home (“Rocket style” but with no skateboard) but it was impossible!

● Director Utsumi (answer is shown on-screen): When I received the first draft written by scriptwriter Ookouchi, I was surprised that Kikuchi answers Adam with “Wan!” in the last ep. (Note: Wan! is a dog sound in Jpn) In the end it was replaced with “Hai! (Yes)”.

*The seiyuu cast then rewatched the scene in the event.

Cast: Now the only thing we can hear is Kikuchi saying, “Wan!”

Question #3: If you can have Carla for a day, what would you ask her to do?

● Hatanaka: I want her to tell me to “Calm down, Hatanaka-san” whenever I get nervous. I want her to get mad or control me. (The cast laughs at his wordings because of the possible implied meanings)

● Kobayashi: I want Carla to guide me because I get lost easily.

Matsumoto: Just use your phone!

Midorikawa: That doesn’t have to be Carla, you know.

● Midorikawa: I want Carla to guide me during recordings, saying things like, “Your next line is coming in 3, 2, 1…” or “For the next line, you should put more emotions”.

Question#4: Which character unexpectedly got more/less screen time?

● Kobayashi: The glasses girl voiced by Hayami Saori. She appears in a few episodes and I thought she would have an important role to play later on, but nothing happened.

● Nagatsuka: I was curious to know more about Harry.

● Hatanaka: I was thinking that Reki actually didn’t skate that much throughout the anime.

● Matsumoto: Midorikawa and I were thinking that Reki doesn’t seem much like a protagonist.

Langa: Okay, I’ll go next (in impersonating Adam). Reki-kun! You’re lovelyyyy!!

Reki: That’s wrong! He’s not gonna say that!

The report is late, but still posting this for the record!! It’s long and detailed but the talks were really interesting so please read until the end! I promise, you won’t regret it! I also put Haikyuu pictures for easier understanding (but no seiyuu pics from the actual event besides those from the official accounts).

The event was held on 1/10 but there was an archive viewing on 1/23~24 so I watched it again <3

The event starts with a prerecorded video of a mini skit by the voice actors. The video shows the Inarizaki members at the club room at the start of the year (not animated, still images only moving once in a while).

Atsumu: I won this year, Samu! I got more New year postcards than you!

Osamu: But you’re also including the ones sent from business establishments! They don’t count!

Atsumu: Doesn’t matter! They’re addressed to my name, anyway! You’re just a sore loser!

Suna enters the room and they notice that he seems to be happy. Osamu assumed that it’s probably because he got a lot of money from New Year, but warns him that if he spends too much, Kita-san would scold him telling him to save money properly.

Atsumu: Ah! Must be nice to be you, Suna! Because we’re twins, we have to divide and share the money we get from our grandparents! I envy you!

Osamu: *sighs* If I were an only child, I’d get to buy delicious stuff and enjoy all the food by myself!

But Suna clarifies that it’s not because of the money he got why he’s happy, but actually because he got “excellent luck” from the fortune this year.

The twins didn’t expect him to bother about such things, and they said that they don’t actually believe in that because as twins they’re often told to share the same fate.

Kita enters the room and everyone greets him a Happy New Year. Kita greets back and tells them to get ready for the meeting and the practice. Osamu suddenly asks a question before they go though.

Osamu: I heard from Aran-kun before that Kita house’s “ozouni” (Japanese soup with rice cakes traditionally eaten during New Year) is really delicious. Is that true?

Kita: Ah well, it’s made by granny after all, so there’s no way it’s not.

Osamu: Please let me eat that next time!

Atsumu: That’s unfair!!! Let me too!

Kita: *chuckles* Oh, you’re pretty enthusiastic about this, huh. Well, it’s good to properly eat such food during New Year after all. I’ll let you next time.

Twins: Thanks a lot!!

Osamu: Ahhh~ Can’t wait to eat Kita house’s ozouni!

Suna: Osamu, you really do like eating, huh.

Kita reminded them to not get carried away and take care of their bodies. They then go to proceed with their meeting.

The seiyuu event starts with the Inarizaki members greeting a Happy New Year. They’re also happy that Inarizaki is the main focus of this event.

For convenience, they’ll be referred here as follows.

• Miyano Mamoru (Atsumu’s seiyuu) - Mamo
• Kabumoto Hideaki (Osamu) - Kabu
• Nojima Kenji (Kita) - NojiKen
• Shimazaki Nobunaga (Suna) - Zakki

They’re all wearing Inarizaki-themed kimonos for the occasion and showed it off with the camera tilting down to up, focusing on each of them, as they also turned around.

Kabu is wearing a matching arm warmer, which he mistakenly calls “warm armer” (Mamo corrects him laughing), that volleyball players apparently use during games. He also shares that he spent the New Year alone (due to the pandemic situation), meanwhile NojiKen went to the Haikyuu exhibit during the holiday and was really impressed with the experience.

There were also seiyuu events held last year but since the anime was still ongoing at that time they cannot fully talk about everything, but now they can go talk without any hesitation. This is also the first time that the four of them gathered for a Haikyuu event.

Zakki has been open about his love for his team in past events and this time he also expressed that with a full smile.

Zakki: I’m really very happy (that we’re all here)! *cute mini jumping/shaking gestures* Ah, i LOVE Inarizaki! I REALLY love this team, it’s the best! Even if I knew that we’d end up losing, I still felt like we were definitely gonna win.

Mamo: But we did lose

Zakki: Don’t say it!

The MC of the event entered afterwards and the seiyuus formally introduced themselves one by one (they almost forgot lol).

Karasuno was then introduced. They also appeared in a mini skitfirst.

Hinata arrives at the gym first. However, inside the gym Mt. Fuji appeared out of nowhere. He was surprised for a second, but then thought that he’d go climb it anyway. 

Kageyama enters the scene chasing a flying hawk.

Kageyama: Oy boke! Hinata! Catch that bird! Fly!

Hinata jumped and jumped but wasn’t able to catch it.

Kageyama: Oy! How dare you let it go! What was with those little jumps anyway? You wouldn’t reach it with that!

Hinata asked what was that all about and Kageyama said that the hawk matches Mt. Fuji. And with that, Hinata realizes that the only thing lacking for a good luck charm is an eggplant (“nasu” in Jpn).

Hinata: Kageyama! “Ore ni nasu!” (Tr: “Bring the eggplant to me,” but this is a play on the “Toss to me” line which sounds similar in Jpn “Ore ni tosu!”)

Kageyama refused, complaining about it and they started to argue.

The sound of alarm suddenly rings. Hinata wakes up from the dream*, and heads out to go to practice.

*Hatsuyume - the first dream of the year deemed to be important in Jpn culture. Dreaming of Mt. Fuji, hawk, and eggplant is particularly considered to be lucky.

The Karasuno seiyuus then join the rest in the studio saying their greetings.

• Murase Ayumu (Hinata) - Ayu
• Ishikawa Kaito (Kageyama) - Kaito

Haikyuu Back to the Top!

The seiyuus selected their most memorable scenes from the season.

Ayu and Zakki apparently chose the same: Hinata’s “Nice receive” scene.

Zakki particularly loves the silence that follows after the receive, and Kageyama’s “Nice receive” (he claps when it was shown on the VTR). 

He loves Inarizaki and really wanted to fight and win with them and felt very frustrated when they lost, but he can’t really help but admire this Karasuno scene. The people who were watching the game couldn’t believe what happened that everyone’s feelings synced and they all fell silent. The silence held so much meaning, he thinks that the events and all the drama that occurred for them to reach this turning point gave the scene life, despite the lack of sound, and it was really beautiful. It’s a scene made by everyone. It also happened that he was at the studio during the recording and he saw how Kaito and the director gave so much thought about how Kageyama would say the “Nice receive” line to Hinata.

Ayu adds that the Inarizaki match is indeed very important to Hinata’s growth and this scene is a testament that Hinata’s path was right, and all his efforts weren’t in vain. He also likes the monologue by Japan National Team coach Hibarida in this scene, saying that Hinata’s life as a volleyball player which would still continue from then on, was acknowledged.

Mamo and Kabu’s chosen scenes were also shown together - Twin’s Quick.

Kabu chose the last quick of the game, while Mamo chose all.

For the first quick, Mamo especially liked the moment when it zooms to Atsumu. The reverse quick was also impressive. 

Mamo: *pointing at the VTR* Isn’t this amazing? This is reverse, you know!

Kabu still doesn’t want to believe that their last quick got blocked.

Mamo chose all because of the build-up and growth that happened during the match. The quick attack was something the twins just tried on a whim, but their guts, playfulness, and talent were really amazing.

The last quick was particularly memorable to Kabu because Osamu can be seen as the more reserved of the two, and while the twins carry the same thing inside them their approach and expression of things differ. But in the last scene, Atsumu and Osamu gave their all and really synced 100% perfectly.

Mamo adds that the first and last quick had the same lines, but the tension was very different and he really liked the juxtaposition. As the actors they were also carried away and really let their voices go all out in the last one, and he even thinks that Kabu and him synced perfectly that their voices sounded very alike.

On the other hand, the Karasuno members were also asked for their opinion.

Kaito: Aahhh, no matter how many times I watch it, it’s really amazing. And because it’s the quick attack that we’ve been doing ever since, I still feel irritated, like *points at his face* this area below my eye really twitches unconsciously. That’s our attack! Don’t do it!

Ayu agrees and says that he really likes that last rotation in the game, that if it weren’t for that rotation, if it weren’t Kageyama and Hinata there, Karasuno would not have been able to block that attack. As he also shared in the Jump Festa last time, it’s theirs and they’re the ones who knew it the most so it’s only perfect that they were the ones who were able to stop that.

The next scene shown was the one Kaito picked which turned out to be unexpected to everyone - Atsumu’s happy scenes compilation.

Kaito explains that they might think that he’s just fooling around, but he actually has a serious reason for choosing this. Kageyama and Atsumu are both setters with similar personalities, they love volleyball, and are very straightforward to their dreams. And while he does like Kageyama’s demeanor, he admires Atsumu’s attitude towards volleyball so much.

Kaito: “I’m having so much fun right now!!” The way Atsumu expresses that, as a human I want to work and live a life like Atsumu who enjoys doing what he loves so much, and is able to openly express it to the world. Atsumu’s way of playing volleyball, those smiles, the voice that holds all the experiences he’s had - i REALLY like them.

Mamo was glad and grateful with the compliment and agrees, sharing that sometimes at the end of a hard day’s work he’s also like Atsumu who’d go tell himself, “Ah! Ain’t today’s me so amazing?!”

He says that Atsumu is so carefree and thinks that there’s nothing wrong with expressing how he feels at the moment, especially when he’s strong because he’s doing his best everytime. It’s the result of his efforts and he takes pride in it. That is why he can express that smile that loves volleyball very much.

The last scene was the one NojiKen selected - Kita’s “Aren’t my teammates amazing?” scene (starting from the “I don’t have any regrets” line).

While watching the VTR,

NojiKen: Ah, I’m gonna cry..

Mamo: This scene would really make you cry… I did cry during the recording.

Kabu: Aran-kuuunnn T.T

NojiKen: It’s very admirable.. Ah, I really wanted them to win..

Mamo: Ahhhh… He’s the best captain…

NojiKen shared that he was torn between choosing this scene or the scene when Kita got his uniform. During the recording the seiyuus, just like the Inarizaki team, fought with their all, only thinking about victory despite them knowing the end result.

So when the team lost, he really felt so frustrated and if it was him, he’d really want to shout and cry. But Kita-san doesn’t have any regrets, and his choice of words here showing the maturity of his heart really struck him.

NojiKen: Kita-san wasn’t crying in the scene, so during the recording I shouldn’t cry too. But after that, I did cry a lot. I think that in the corners of Kita-san’s heart he was really frustrated but hid it, and when he was left alone, he probably shed tears, too.

Mamo: Ahh, what a really nice talk this is..

NojiKen: So frustrating..

Zakki: I really wanted us to win..

For the next corner, the seiyuus were asked (beforehand) to

describe the Karasuno team and the Inarizaki team in one word.

Their answers were compiled and due to the short time allotted for discussion, only a few answers were discussed.

NojiKen: Karasuno = Turkish ice cream

They’re like that ice cream that unbelievably stretches a lot which he likens to Karasuno growing and improving consistently physically and mentally. Moreover, when you buy the ice cream, the vendor usually won’t hand it to you right away and you’d keep chasing for it, and just like that, Karasuno is a team that isn’t easily “captured” by their opponents.

Zakki: Karasuno = Sticky sticky love volleyball (they were laughing at Zakki’s lack of vocabulary)

Zakki also defended his answer that well, Karasuno is sticky and stretches out too that no matter how far the opponents go they will stick to them persistently. And because they are sticky, no matter how much they stretch out they won’t get cut easily amidst difficult situations, remaining connected. And because they love volleyball, they don’t stretch out in pain, but happily.

Inarizaki = Go go go head-on love volleyball

Inarizaki has overflowing spirits and potential and they always go for any challenge, almost without limits. He thinks that if Kita-san wasn’t there to steady the hold they’d go flying too much and even collapse somewhere. And of course since they all share that love for volleyball, despite the differences they are able to face everything head-on.

Kaito, to Zakki: You’re saying something so good but because of the word choice it gets negated!

Mamo: Karasuno = comrades; Inarizaki = family

Inarizaki gives off a strong family vibe not only because the twins are literally brothers, but because of the role of each member like one is a responsible parent (Kita), an older brother (Aran), an inexpressive cheeky little brother (Osamu/Suna?), etc, and he likes it. Whereas Karasuno are more like comrades in arms fighting together.

Ayu: Inarizaki = Despair

This team has a lot of potential and it’s as if they don’t have any weaknesses. They can stop the good momentum of the opponent to get back on track, and when the momentum is on their side they also have Kita-san who can prolong that despair. He says that when he first read them in the manga, he was like “it’s impossible to beat them!”

Kaito: Inarizaki = Growth period

Inarizaki is always ever-growing all the while they’re having fun, and that road to “ripening” is unstoppable, making this team a formidable opponent.

The next corner featured fortune-telling by a tarot card reader named A.M., which was then revealed to be Ayumu Murase. In private life, he revealed that he enjoys tarot card reading and does it almost everyday. He drew the cards of the other seiyuus beforehand to determine their luck in “battles” this year.

Since this corner isn’t about Haikyuu, I won’t report it in detail.

Basically they were ranked based on their luck, and Ayu explained the readings for each one of them.

Since Kaito ranked the lowest, he was given a lucky item - a golden volleyball.

New Year Postcard Pick up Corner

After that, they proceeded to the New Year Postcard Pick up Corner, where cards sent from fans were displayed on a board. This was led by Ayu and Kaito and two cards were picked which contained greetings and questions from the senders.

1st card - Share a moment when you felt like you got hooked on your job again (just like Haikyuu characters did to volleyball).

Ayu and Kaito both answered that it was getting to work in Haikyuu. Kaito expounds that Haikyuu reflects real life as they don’t always win, despite being the main characters. They continue to grow as actors too, and when they get to meet one another in the next seasons they all get to enjoy the new battles they face together.

2nd card - What do you think is Kageyama’s weakness?

Kaito thinks that Kageyama may be seen as strong but he’s not a perfect setter and is continuously supported by the people around him.

Meanwhile, Ayu thinks that as a setter Kageyama may be seen as smart who is good in studies as well, but then the fact that he’s actually just on the same level as Hinata in studying, is cute.

M-1/K-1/S-1/H-1 GranPri

The event then proceeds to the “Grand Prix” program, where three selected scene cuts (VTRs) for each character are shown. Each seiyuu would vote which scene they think represents the character best. After the initial voting, they’d engage in a discussion stating the reason for their choice (though because of time restriction not everyone can speak) where they can persuade others to change their votes. After that they make a final vote.

Miya-1 GranPri: Osamu

Discussion:Kabu remembers that he wondered about how Osamu would talk in this scene, as he’s frustrated but chose to say such words. He talked to Mamo about it and since Mamo/Atsumu would strongly say his lines, Kabu/Osamu also settled to assert his point with more conviction (”Let me finish what I’m saying!”).

Since Kabu discussed his experience that way, other seiyuus were easily convinced to change their answer to 2. Though NojiKen states that his favorite number is 3 that’s why he voted for 3. (So yeah, this didn’t turn into a discussion at all lol)

Discussion:Kaito had a hard time choosing but ended up voting for 1. He says that scene 1 definitely gave a strong first impression of Atsumu. He got disappointed in Kageyama because he didn’t get thrilled on his by the book’s way of playing volleyball. Mamo adds that when they recorded this Atsumu really appeared as a strong, mysterious senpai character, and Kaito who watched it, honestly said that he’s scary. Kaito adds that there is more impact because he was on the receiving end of those words.

Everyone was a bit silent and looked like they got convinced of Kaito’s answer, but Zakki begged to differ. He says that because of scene 1 being scary, people would wonder what kind of person Atsumu is, and once they see scene 2 they’d understand where he is coming from. They’d see that Atsumu is a very earnest person who goes straight forward to what he wants and has to do. In an instant, all of Atsumu’s appeal/charm as a person, as a player is shown.

Zakki: Won’t everyone begin to like Atsumu because of this scene?

NojiKen was about to defend his answer, apparently he has a proper reason this time for voting 3, but the time limit bell rang before he had the chance to do so.

Kage-1 GranPri

Scene 1: from Ep7

Discussion: NojiKen says that scene 3 exhibited Kageyama’s sharp intellect as a setter that thoroughly thinks about the strategy. Kabu adds that with this, he thinks Kageyama was able to get even with Atsumu from the goody two-shoes remark.

Ayu thinks that scene 3 was indeed impactful on the opponent side (that’s why all Inarizaki voted for it), but for a teammate the presence of a ‘Kalm Kageyama’ is impressive as it shows a different side of him when playing so he went for 2.

Kaito finds scene 1 a very important turning point for Kageyama as Hinata makes him a king. A king is someone who can’t exist without his own people, so a king only becomes one because he is chosen. Up to now Kageyama has been nothing but a lonely king, so that act from Hinata for the first time ever officially made him the King of the Court. And from that, scene 2 is born showing a King, and then scene 3 shows that this King can also act like this.

Final Votes: 2 - Kaito, 1 - the rest

It was a surprise that after everything Kaito said, he ended up the one changing his answer but he didn’t give any explanation about it.

Suna-1 GranPri

Mamo: 3 is Kita-san’s scene!

Zakki: And 2 is the old man’s scene!

Kaito defends 2 saying that core training is very hard and he looks up to Suna for being able to master that. But when he thought about 1 again, he says that 1 is indeed a good scene and considers changing his answer right then lol. Meanwhile, NojiKen actually wanted to choose 1 but Kita-san was in scene 3 so he voted for that.

Mamo: Well, that was Kita-san’s cute scene after all!

Zakki was about to explain about 1 but was cut by the time limit bell.

Final Votes: 4 - Zakki, 1 - the rest

Zakki explained that he likes 1 but the scene he liked the most was the exchange when Tsukki got back on Suna, so he chose 4. Mamo agrees and teases the staff that they should have chosen to put that scene in the selection instead.

Kita-1 GranPri

Scene 1: from Ep20 (scene cut starts from Aran and Kita going home until this “chanto yannen” scene)

Discussion:NojiKen continues fooling around by choosing 3 even if he actually likes 1. Mamo says that he actually likes the scene before 1, the moment when Kita-san got his uniform and proceeds to tease the staff again to put that scene instead. But Kabu says that he likes that going home scene, surprised that Kita-san can laugh like that and Aran was also cute for getting confused at what Kita-san was talking about. Kaito adds that scene 1 also shows us the level of friendship that Kita-san and Aran have. Kita-san laughed but Aran didn’t look surprised, meaning that he has seen it before - Aran knows Kita-san’s smile.

Scene 3: from Ep24

Discussion: Kaito was very hesitant in making a decision again but ended up with 1. Ayu starts the discussion saying that 1 and 2 are indeed very Hinata-like, but 3 left a big impression on him, seeing Hinata become someone who is able to give his teammates a moment to breathe in the middle of a game, showing how much he has grown. He was deeply moved when he read it in the manga and when he watched it in the anime again.

For a moment Kaito wanted to change his answer to 3, but then explains that 1 is the very starting line of To the Top. Because of that, not only Hinata but Karasuno was able to face and fight Inarizaki like this. Mamo comments on a different note. He wasn’t in the studio during the recording of 1 but when he watched it again now, he felt impressed and realized how along with Hinata Shoyo, Murase Ayumu the seiyuu has also grown a lot. That one short scene makes Ayu’s development very clear, for being able to voice act like that. Ayu was so happy and grateful he immediately changed his answer to 1.

New Year Postcard Pick up Corner 2

After the Granpri, they went to the New Year Postcard Pick up Corner again, led this time by Mamo and Kabu.

Mamo: Hi! We are Hyogo’s Miya twins!

Mamo reads the 1st card though there was no question, it’s from a mother writing about his 6-yr old son who loves Haikyuu, particularly Atsumu. Mamo is glad and thinks that people of different ages really do watch Haikyuu. Kabu adds that it would be nice if this can actually inspire someone in the future to play volleyball.

Mamo: Yeah, like hearing someone say that because of Haikyuu they became a setter, or a professional player.

2nd card - Do you have anything that’s like Kita-san’s concept of “Repetitive, Methodical, Thorough”?

Kabu answers that this applies to his work as a stage actor where they keep doing the same things properly everyday for months.

New year’s Play-offs

The next games that followed were more related to New Year but less of Haikyuu so I won’t be reporting them in detail too (also because it’s probably only funny if you get to watch them playing the game). The seiyuus were divided into two: Team Atsumu with Mamo, Zakki, Ayu, and Team Tobio with Kaito, Kabu, and NojiKen.

Game 1 - Guess the Situation of the First Dream: Sleep Talk Nuance Quiz

Mechanics: One of the members will sleep talk using a random line from the anime. There are four situations given where the line can possibly be used, and out of the four the other members will guess what kind of dream their teammate had. 

This game was played 4 times, with 2 turns for each team. Both teams won once.

Game 2 - Two-attack First Drawing

Mechanics: One member has to guess the word that his two other teammates will draw together. The challenge is that they can only draw using one pen stroke or without lifting their pen.

Each team only got one turn, and both didn’t get the correct answer.

With the two teams ending up in a tie, they were both declared winners and the prize is… Kita House’s Ozouni! A Hyogo-style ozouni was prepared for them. NojiKen led the serving of the food.

NojiKen: You have to do cooking properly, too. (“Oryouri mo, chanto yannen”)

The event now comes to a close. The seiyuus say their

last message to the fans.

Zakki: I hope it was made clear that this is how fun the atmosphere is during recordings. I really love Inarizaki and the Haikyuu team. I will continue to hope that there will be more chances to spend time with everyone again. Please continue supporting Haikyuu from now on too!

NojiKen: Due to the pandemic situation, voice recordings were taken separately, but still this kind of teamwork was born. During these hard times, please watch/rewatch Haikyuu a lot of times and exercise your hearts and mind. Thank you!

Kabu: I have been invited to participate in a lot of Haikyuu events since last year and then for the first time these 4 Inarizaki members have gathered, and I really had a good time. I hope you all enjoyed it too. Looking forward to your support.

Mamo: I’m really glad that I can experience youth again at my age through Haikyuu. With the current situation where the norm is no longer the usual, I’m really happy that we were able to finish and present this Inarizaki match to you, thanks to the efforts of all the staff who have carefully considered how we can work best while taking the necessary health precautions. From here on too, we will continue to bring entertainment to the fans like usual, and I’m hoping that we can work again and act for the future stories too of Haikyuu.

Kaito: Did you have fun watching, everyone?

*answers himself acting as a viewer* Yes! We had fun! Thank you!

Thank you for all your comments! It’s been more than a year since we started working for Haikyuu To the Top and despite all the difficulties brought about by outside influences (particularly the pandemic), I’m really happy that we are here now and were able to say, “That was fun!” with everyone. Let’s keep the flame burning for Haikyuu!

Ayu: As what everyone has also mentioned, the current situation has made me realize more the value of each and every episode we created. Precisely because the normal everyday things have ceased to become normal, being part of a work that can touch people’s hearts when they watch it and make them appreciate volleyball more, makes me feel really proud. I’m really grateful to the staff. Hinata and everyone’s path will still continue from now on and I really hope we can continue to work with this team until the end.

After their goodbyes, NojiKen was tasked to lead the last greeting as the captain of Inarizaki, which is the main in this event.

NojiKen: Thank you everyone for watching us ‘til the end. Thank you!

And that’s it!! It was a fun fun fun 2.5 hrs event! I’m really glad that despite the current pandemic situation we can still have seiyuu events like this.

I just want to say that I’ve been watching Haikyuu all these years, but unexpectedly, the Inarizaki match is the moment I felt that I got hooked on Haikyuu *cries*
