Eskel crosses an ancient relict that brings to life the thing that people fear the most, and drives them insane with hatred and terror. When it looks inside the Witcher Eskel, it sees the destruction of Kaer Morhen, the deaths of his brothers and two amber eyes burning above it all.
The relict traps Eskel in a loop with himself. He fights his duplicate over and over and over. Every time, he dies in a pool of his own blood, and then watches his mirror image slaughter his loved ones as his life drains away.
To break the loop, Eskel must learn to look in the mirror and accept what he sees, and show it compassion, even if he can never forgive it.

I got to make two pieces for the Dekucest zine, one in which hero Deku gives a good scrubbing to filthy vigilante Deku, and one illustrating Cinnabee’s fic Ghost of Myself, please give it a read!
I know we love the clone-fucking jokes and the “it’s mast*rbation!” jokes, but are we sure Loki x Sylvie isn’t incest? Don’t they have the same families? And at some point lived the same lives? People even headcanon that Sylvie’s last name is “Laufeydottir”.
Every other Loki variant talks about Thor, because thor is really relevant to loki’s character, but Sylvie doesn’t. they found a way to dodge it, because she was taken so young, but I bet if she did it would be weird, wouldn’t it?
I wanna say I “don’t ship it but I’m okay with those who do”, but I’m not sure I am - depending on the answer I’m definitely not. I know we joke a lot but it’s different when it’s portrayed on mainstream media. Specially since they’re both bisexual characters. There has to be a better relationship for queer characters that doesn’t have so many controversial connotations.
Be honest with me guys, is it incest? Or close enough to it that it’s a problem and triggering to others? Do we have to sue Disney for that kiss?
Selfcest isn’t a thing in real life but the concept sounds close enough to incest that people have opinions on it. Specially the way it was done on Loki, where Sylvie is a different enough person from Loki to not be literally him (so it’s not “the same as masturbation!”) but has the same origins and is her role is similar enough that she seems related to him. A lot more than the aligator that’s for sure. She had roughly the same life in Asgard as him before being taken, didn’t she? And sometimes I see people tagging her name as “Sylvie Laufeydottir”, deducing they have the same parents.
Ah, on that note, whether or not they share their DNA is also irrelevant if we’re discussing incestshipping, or else we’d enable thorki too, brothers who aren’t blood-related.
I guess this is why no one can agree if it’s okay to ship it or not. I know the intention of the tv show was not of incest, they wouldn’t have made that a plot on their MCU, but it feels just close enough to it that it makes me uncomfortable.
Not that I need a moral reason to dislike a ship, of course. And I still like the characters. I just can’t help but to wonder about other people’s morals, where they draw the line, what is or isn’t creepy in fandom spaces.
Alright, lads, what’s the veredict? Is selfcest shipping a chill trope, weird but harmless, or is it morally wrong, or just overall a shitty thing? What have we decided?
