Opposite prompts, opposite pals. The first one is based on some generically green little dudes on my porch I like to call “the basil boys”- they are probably cabbage loopers. The second is a wheel bug which is the most badass of bugs, enough said.

Ebony jewelwings and green lacewing larva are both beautiful in their own ways, one a bit more traditionally so than the other. ️

Red and fuzzy were difficult bc everything I could think of was both…. so these velvet friends could probably swap spots with no trouble. ❤️❤️❤️

For fast and slow, I give you a quick-witted house centipede and a goofy old snail. 

These new friends are based on the white-jawed jumping spider and the Arizona bark scorpion. ️

Here’s a cheerful silver spotted skipper and an anxious soil centipede. ☀️

We’ve got some wacky ones today! Here’s a caddisfly warrior with homemade armor and a processionary caterpillar following the travelling routes of their ancestors. ⛰️

I don’t think I actually did any butterflies last year? My moth bias is strong but I didn’t know it was that strong- anyways, here’s a red-spotted purple and a picture-winged fly. 

Would you prefer your fairies microscopic or freshly peeled? 

More pals! Here I have a wolf spider mom with her many little rascals, and a marsh caterpillar collecting cattails.
