#sheet masks

Okay so I forgot to take a picture of this mask before I used it and then it was INSANE and I needed to blog about it so uh, I’m using the pic from the Beauteque page. >_>

Anyway, check out this totally normal looking NOHJ Black Intracell Boosting Mask. Looks like a normal sheet mask, right? So normal I didn’t even look at the back, I just ripped it open and slapped it on my face. The sheet itself is black so I figured that was the special thing here.

Lol, no.

About 30 seconds later it started foaming up. Like remember the Elizavecca Milky Piggy foaming mask? Like that, except it was a sheet mask and it was happening on both sides of the sheet. So obvi I started rubbing at it to see if that would make it happen more and surprise, it did.

That’s when I went and fished the package out of the trash to read the back and noticed that it says wash off mask really clearly on there. Ooops?

Anyways, this is an exfoliating/moisturizing mask that surprise foams. You can help it along with your fingers, and when you’re ready, remove the mask, rub the foam/bubbles in some more and then rinse it all off. It’s really lovely and fun! And also surprising if you don’t read the package! I’m into it, okay?

When I tried this out I kind of figured the whole review would basically be “Melon sheet mask smells like melon; story checks out.”

And uh, I wasn’t wrong. This is a pretty basic mask. Moisturizing, but not particularly exciting in any way. If you like melon? Well. Sweet melon sheet mask from A’Pieu smells like melon. Story checks out.

Remember a few weeks ago when a certain musician came to an awards show looking like some kind of gold transformer?

You, too, can have that experience with this No:hj Golden Modelling Foil Mask. Literally, the mask is gold foil, and I definitely took a dumb photo to send all my friends who immediately made fun of me. 

It’s pretty nice, though. There’s some unnecessary perfume in this, but it’s not crazy overwhelming, and the mask itself felt good, if fitting a little awkwardly. If you’re into gold? Sure.

I’ve seen a lot of very positive reviews of these Too Cool for School sheet masks, but at Sephora they run eight dollars each (Canadian) and that is insane! The markup on asian beauty at Sephora is just bananas. So I ordered a five pack off Tester Korea for $12 USD.

What I wasn’t expecting here was the strong perfume. As soon as I opened the mask I could smell the super intense scent they added to it, and I’m not sure why they thought that was necessary. It actually made me take off the mask earlier than I would like, because otherwise I found this really nice.

It left my skin smooth and moist and refreshed, but also heavily perfumed. Applying some of my other usual skincare steps helped, but man - unnecessary. Keep that in mind if you are looking at this, because even friend MA who likes more scent than me thought this was strong.

This smells like cucumber. Yeah, I know it says Botannic Farm Avocado Mask, and I was a little worried, because I realllllly hate avocado but… cucumber. 

I’ve been treating myself to a bunch of sheet masks lately, and this one was probably in my top five for how moisturizing it was without any negatives. The scent is fresh and not very strong, the fit is pretty good, and it didn’t dry out easily. The packaging could use some work but yeah, this is pretty solid.
